Absolutely love watching you Darlene , you were my inspiration to ‘go with the flow’ more with my quilting, which has been amazing as I tend towards the perfectionist vision… and as we know…things don’t always go to plan! I love how you tell us how to get ourselves out of the bind we have got ourselves in and that you’re not afraid to show the whole process, adapting as you go along, thank you x PS I’m very late to this party - it’s the end of August and I did January’s block yesterday and I am doing February’s today… hopefully I’ll catchup at some point 😂!
Oh Darlene you crack me up! I love the heart. I probably would have had a melt down! But it’s ok. No rules, right?! I love listening to you and how you describe what to do.❤❤❤
I just spent 4 hours in cutting blocks and making my heart🥵 Mine looks like yours, and I Love it! No one has ever given me back their quilt because of teeny tiny issues that only WE know. Tomorrow I sew the blocks and then wait until March 1st.😂
You have made me so happy! I'm going to make a memoryquilt out of my husbands clothes. Wanted to do hearts. And now i'm going to make them all different sizes. You gave me the confidence to do the hearts my way. Wonkey is all the better❤ Thank you❤
Just got block 2 done and I AM SO THRILLED!!! I am changing the specialty blocks. Not sure how I will "quilt" or put together ? but I sure like your big stitches. Thank you for doing this FUN FUN FUN sew along!
I don't know why but when you said you see what I mean chili bean I happy cried. My aunt, who I was close to, used to say this to me growing up. She passed at 60 from diabetes complications. I forgot about that phrase.
I love watching you work things out as you go......I can imagine there were some breaks along the way as you pulled your hair!! I don't quilt (actually haven't even sewed anything in years!) so this is mind boggling to me! I love that you can chuckle about it all!
It’s more helpful to know how to fix an issue when it arises than to have unrealistic expectations that your own block will always turn out just like the teacher’s. Thanks for sharing your creative solutions with us.
Darlene you have taught me so much about quilting. Thank you for all of your help. Now I need to ask you something. There is a gadget that quilters use when sewing that cuts the thread between the strips or the squares when you sew alot of them at one time. Where can I get one for my self. Thanks for all of your help. Jean
I love this! You make me smile and make me know it’s ok to just have fun with it! I love your honesty and your sense of humor so much! I love the wonky heart and scrappy fabrics too. Thanks Darlene!
Don’t knock the wonky heart Darlene, I think it gives it great character and charm! Love to see how easy it can be to get yourself out of a bind so thanks for that!
Darlene I’m so glad you’re back making quilt block videos. You make me laugh the entire time and I love your ability to laugh at problems then fix them. This is a cute darling heartwarming heart!
Just real quick I wanted to say your fingernails look absolutely beautiful. Yeah it’s a silly statement but it’s the truth. You should be very proud of your hands. I’m loving this new square. By the way.🎉❤
I LOVE your wonky country heart. It's really clever. Love the block too and I look forward to seeing the stitching. Loving this series. Thanks Darlene!
Enjoyed the video and will definetly will be trying the heart. After a long day and working on that heart your brain starts to go to mush, be kind to yourself and screw those who want to be negative.
Maybe make a all kitten one in pink for cancer patient Love the Kitten does look like looking out the window and the strips look like the really old timey wall paper
Hi Darlene. I truly enjoyed watching this tutorial. This is a very cute idea, with the heart block inside the larger block. And you cracked me up the whole way through. I love your sense of humor when something goes wacky and you laugh at yourself...I laughed out loud.
Love the wonky long heart! There are no mistakes, only learning curves OR happy accidents! I think yours is a happy accident. The entire block is scrappy and cute as hell! I’m having fun with this quilt along and you always make me laugh, Darlene. Thank you!
I made my sister-in-law a cancer ribbon and heart quilt when she was going thru chemotherapy. Everyone at the center loved it and when we lost her my brother-in-law wanted to know what to do with it, I said donate it the cancer center for everyone to use.
I lv the block I made my heart out of paper first .. took me a few tries but I did it … sewing out paper was easy for me try … I always do paper blocks first before I cut fabric .. thank u ❤️❤️❤️❤️
my craft room my rules so if it turns out wonkyer then yours so be it. I had to make the kitty cat twice to get it close enough to use 😂 but I love it.
I like your elongated, blue flower heart block. It’s graceful. The usual valentines don’t appeal to me when they have jagged edges from square corners jammed into trying to make the curves.
Just love watching and listening to you!😃

Woo! Block #2 done. 14 1/2” ❤
Thank you for taking the time to do all the work. It helps novice sewers like me out a ton.
Enjoying the replay ❤
That turned out beautiful! Thank you for the step by step instructions. Will definitely be back for part 2! 🩷
Love, love, the heart block. Thank you sooooooo much for all the hard work you put into it. Diane
Despite your struggles, you explain what you were doing, and I got it, and it looks like fun to put together. Thanks for this.
You do a good job of showing us how to do the block - you do it in a very simple way - thanks from Ana

Love it. Heart looks good but was shorter and more narrow. I am ok with the black border.
Both blocks so far are looking great!!!
I like it.
Thank you for being honest about the struggles...we all identify with you there and enjoy you telling us the full story of your eventual success.
I love that your heart is not perfect! That’s my kind of quilting! 💖
l love the block... its aweosme... dont stress, lol😄
Don’t knock the wonky heart Darlene, I think it gives it great character and charm! Love to see how easy it can be to get yourself out of a bind so thanks for that!

This is wonderful. I learned a new technique!! Thanks for doing the “hard stuff”!
Just real quick I wanted to say your fingernails look absolutely beautiful. Yeah it’s a silly statement but it’s the truth. You should be very proud of your hands. I’m loving this new square. By the way.🎉❤
Well guess what I’m doing tomorrow? Making a wonky heart 🙂 thanks Darlene.
I LOVE your wonky country heart. It's really clever. Love the block too and I look forward to seeing the stitching. Loving this series. Thanks Darlene!
Those colors are perfectly dispersed within the block. Very beautiful.
I like the heart. Came out great. Nothing has to be perfect, yes. Options!
It turned out great! The bottom border doesn’t distract from the heart. Makes it more sweet!♥️
Love the ❤
It still turned out to be a nice block.
Just to let you know, those lines you drew on the wonky heart are perfectly clear! ❤thanks for the tutorial.
I love the heart, I might need to make a whole quilt with them! Wonky is fun!
I love the look of the heart. I think it will be perfect for a book sleeve. Fun quilt blocks are how I mix it up with making them.
Enjoyed the video and will definetly will be trying the heart. After a long day and working on that heart your brain starts to go to mush, be kind to yourself and screw those who want to be negative.
I like it!! Thank you.
I love this block. Thanks for sharing 👍🏿

Love the heart & can't wait to try it!

Its cute!!
You did a neat job! So cool
I lv the block I made my heart out of paper first .. took me a few tries but I did it … sewing out paper was easy for me try … I always do paper blocks first before I cut fabric .. thank u ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I teach at the community college level and I love your style! Sometimes I laugh at myself thinking no one is following my crazy random brain. lol
I like the long heart. I need to get my sewing machine upstairs. And start my blocks. ❤
I love you, you remind me of my sister . I am watching old videos for fun and liking them. Do liked on old videos help you?
my craft room my rules so if it turns out wonkyer then yours so be it. I had to make the kitty cat twice to get it close enough to use 😂 but I love it.
Could embroider a cat face on kitty and embroider highlights on other block bits before sandwiching the block
Yes, you can do anything you want!
Wonky is Wonderful! Thats what I always say! 😊
Darlene, what thread are you using for the quilting? Thanks.
I like your elongated, blue flower heart block. It’s graceful. The usual valentines don’t appeal to me when they have jagged edges from square corners jammed into trying to make the curves.
Love wonky, always the way to go! Prefect is overrated in quilting, and takes the fun out of it.
I love your long wonky heart. And you are so clever to think of doing a heart the way you did.
The wonky heart has expression. The heart is bigger at the top so it balances the thicker bottom strip. It is all aesthetically satisfying.
Love the way your long heart turned out! ❤❤❤
I love the long heart..very pretty block..❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Darlene, will try tomorrow. Love the Heart! I'm writing heart, i don't know where my emoji is on laptop. Heart
That heart makes the lock pop can't wait forfor next months block ❤
Love it!
You know we all love the wonky….it’s a Darlene thing! ❤
Love it
Yes!!!
I love it
What quilt judge is peeking over your shoulder saying every border has to be the same width???? I love the long skinny wonky heart !!
Woo hoo!!🎉🎉🎉
the heart is super cute!
