Do I need to upgrade my SD card? When setting up my GoPro 10 it says "your SD card may be too slow for some settings. Use a faster card (V30 or higher) to maximize performance". Currently I use ScanDisk Ultra Plus V10 which was fine when using GoPro 9.
Absolutely exceptional video. Clear, nonsense explanations easy to understand even for those of us who are not technologically or artistically inclined. Thank you.
8:34 have you ever played around with the gopro labs firmware on previous gopro models, there is this function called shutter angle, instead of the fixed shutter speed you point out here, it allows you to set a minimum shutter speed while it also lets the shutter speed to fluctuate depending on how much light there is.
This video has a lot of info, sir. Thanks for this. I just got my go pro hero 10, and I can't wait to try these settings. New subscriber here. Cheers to you. 🍻
Not sure if you have another video for doing top down videos. I would like to use my GoPro 10 to shoot me doing wood carving videos for TH-cam. Any settings recommendations for top down videos? Or maybe you have another videos covering this?
Hi Werner, I'd be very interested in your opinion: would you recommend the GoPro Hero 10 for workout videos? Not action-packed, and mostly indoor. I am a beginner in the tech part, so any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks

good evening. I record my Bowling Team and wanted to know what do you recommend for settings inside a bowling alley. The one I bowl at is pretty well lit. I use a GoPro 10 Looking forward to your advise.
Excellent video, and thank you!! Loving my Hero 10 as well...It's interesting to me how the majority of seemingly all the Hero 8 thru Hero 10 vids for setup up of one's camera always suggests to "always go for the Cinematic look"...and subsequently post GoPro settings for that only! I see you also prefer that look, but I do not ==> HOWEVER, you 100% included great info for those of us who are looking for something different! Thank you for this, because I am the oddball and am not a fan of the cinematic look. Love your suggestions through your testing so we don't have to! The most important settings I've found are to avoid a Sharpness above Low, keeping that EV Comp at -0.5 to -1.0, and any resolution below 4K! Wow, the 2K just doesn't look good no matter what frame rate I've chosen thus far! The best stabilization overall, that resolution of 5K at 30FPS, Lens set to WIDE, LINEAR or LINEAR + HL; and my HyperSmooth on High looks amazing. Again, we can't thank you enough for all your work...and I'm jealous of where you live!! Just gorgeous! Cheers!
Hi, excellent video. I have the goprohero 10 which i will be using for snorkelling with dolphins next week. Would you recommend 4k 60fps pr 5.3k 60fps keeping for that purpose? And judging from your video you would recommend wide instead of superwide for that purpose?
Thanks for this as I just bought the Hero 10 as an everyday camera instead of my regular camcorder. Really impressed with the footage. However, there seems to be a quirk with the audio. Each clip starts with the audio fading in for 1-2 seconds (it came with v.1.10 and I installed v.1.16 - it happens with both). I spoke to GoPro a couple of times who seemed puzzled by it and I uploaded samples of the audio. The last GoPro agent I spoke to didn’t say they’d looked at the samples but just agreed to replace the camera which is appreciated but a bit of a hassle. Have you ever noticed audio fade-in on clips as I’d rather not replace the camera if it’s how it is anyway. Thanks.
I've seen 183 videos about this topic, this was the one that explained it more clearly and concise, and overall with the best results (some of the others were suggesting things that don't make a lot of sense and in fact didnt yield great results). I bought the camera for motovlogging, and I live in Portugal so I get a lot of sunlight... extra light has not been a problem ever with my previous cameras (Xiaomi 4k+) (quite the contraire)...do yo uthink I should get the ND filters? I like a "less is more" approach when it comes to stuff I carry around :P
I rarely use ND-Filters - they might give you some motion blur, what looks a bit more natural and cinematic. But this will have a negative impact on the image stabilization
Hi MountMedia, Great video. I’m curious that you mentioned you live in the Italian alps but you’re using NTSC instead of PAL. Is there a reason for this?
Hi, wanted to know if you could hel me with my settings. I just got a go pro ten. I have my standard setting at 5.3k / 30. I recorded a few videos of me just waking out my house around my property. I review the video and as I'm walking the picture stays the same for a few seconds then catches up. You can hear my foots steps as I'm walking but the image is not moving?
Hi Werner As a Subscriber I enjoy your videos. Own many cameras and video cameras. Got my first GoPro (Hero 9) early this year. We don't all do somersaults on snow boards. I'm interested in filming indoor tennis serves and outdoor golf swings on a tripod in SLOW motion. The 10 looks great for this and I assume 240 FPS would be good. Resolution is not important. Incidentally the 9 has worked very well for me with latest firmware. No freezing or heat issues. Own masses of software but generally use iMovie, FotoMagico and Icecream Video Editor Pro. Played a lot of tennis and golf in Pertisau, early '70s. Beautiful countryside. Mike in the UK
As always, Thank You for another awesome tutorial! There is one thing that has me puzzled with the GoPro Hero10..... I usually shoot in manual 100% of the time using the 180° rule when flying my DJI Mavic Air drone. When choosing which ND filter to use, I do so by getting as close to EV 0.0 as possible. With that being said, as you know, the EV on the GoPro isn't available when using the 180° rule. Is there another solution for knowing/confirming how to get the proper exposure when choosing ND's? Thanks again!
@@MountMediaChannel Thank you for your help. I kind of figured there wasn't a way but, didn't know for sure. It's too bad that the EV isn't available in manual. I really don't want to depend on each shot by guessing the exposure on the screen throughout the day/s, that could be a nightmare in post. Based on this, is this why you prefer to shoot in Auto Shutter and WB and adjust your EV - 0.5 on the GoPro? My biggest concern would be on bright sunny days without the use of a ND filter. Thanks again, I sincerely appreciate you getting back to me on this. 👍😊
Hello, Thank you for your videos. I sent you a video link by Email. It was filmed by gopro H9 in "4K 30fps" hypersmooth ON and Linear HL. It looks not smooth and shaking all the time (Eye discomfort). Can you tell me please if it is settings problem or the camera are moving in a wrong way ? Thank you
Hi, it looks pretty normal to me. You can still increase the stabilisation to High. Up and down movements when walking are usually poorly stabilised, this is relatively normal.
@@MountMediaChannel hello. Thank you. But it seems like a discontinuous mouvement. it can be the 30fps setting or no? with a 60fps or gimbal will be more smooth? thank you
@@ridaelchami4011 Hi, at what timestamp do you see this movement? 30fps should be smooth enough. Yes, a gimbal may help - for example for the up and down movements when walking.
@@MountMediaChannel th-cam.com/video/7dZbf5-fnfY/w-d-xo.html You can watch it after some editing. It has always the same issue. You will notice the proble when moving in rotation not when walking 5almost the whole video). Thank you
This is a problem with video recordings, not photos. The recorded video doesn't run normally, aka it doesn't work, for example the video is 2 minutes long, but from 0-1 minute the video goes blank, and then from 1 minute to 2 minutes the recorded video runs smoothly, is this related to the battery saving mode settings???
Whats the advantage of 24fps other than it saving memory? Why do they use it in movies? I just dont get it. For me it always has this unpleasant "laggyness", like my pc cant handle playing it. There must be more to it, other than "they use it in professional movies so its good". Maybe its easier to edit? Idnk.
because thats how original film was made, on camera film rolls and that look just stuck. and maybe get a new computer? no one goes to the movie theater and says '' this movie looks too laggy. i want a refund on my ticket and popcorn!''
Thanks for sharing these settings my friend. I find the quality with my hero 10 is kinda bad. Maybe if I set it to linear and remove sharpening and increase bitrate. I’ll try the negative-1 exposure, thanks for this tip.
Bitrate is the measurement of quality and for that reason you must always use the high setting... As someone who shoots professionally I have to say the Hero 10 is a fantastic camera with great footage for an action camera... remember though it is an action camera not a Sony A7Siii!
Just FYI, 4K/30fps and 1080p/60fps have 3D noise reduction. Either of these resolutions/frame rates should be used for high contrast or low light situations when possible.
All the settings are clearly explained. This one video is sufficient to understand all the settings of GoPro.. Thank you for the valuable information.
