It sounds ridiculous, but notepad++ is very useful. You can keep adding tab after tab, dump or copy and paste useful info, and you don't need to save it anywhere. The next time you launch notepad++ all that information is still there.
Pi-apps installs, but when I click Tools:Emulation:box86, it waits forever showing the message ... "Waiting until APT locks are released..." Edit: Same thing with Wine. -I can install some of the other pi-apps (for instance "Flow") without getting that message, so I believe it's a problem with the installer.

During the Wine86 installation, I get a warning message saying, "warning: Your version of wine 5.13 is no longer supported upstream. You should upgrade to 6.x". I am not sure how to upgrade it. I also keep getting the following error throughout the installation: 0154:err:xrandr:xrandr12_init_modes Failed to get primary CRTC info. The installation never finishes because of this error. It just hangs there with this error printed on the last four lines on the terminal.

So you can't do this on a Raspberry Pi 3? I'm so confused i just want to be able to study scripture with the program e-sword, and watch movies. I tried to install vlc right away from the repository using terminal but i have no idea what i am doing and read that i had to update and upgrade before trying to install vlc cuz it wasnt finding some 404s and now my pi says package vlc not found whenever i try to install it. The guy i got it from said dont update or upgrade it, but that was after i had already read that i was supposed to. If anyone can help please it would very much appreciated
Could you install Corel office using Box 86 or wine? I was considering installing Windows on a Pi4 would this be a better option? I have a Pi4 on order and I purchased a 500gb seagate ssd to run windows but maybe this is a better option? Please advise!
I personally haven’t tested that application so I can’t know for sure. I would bet that it most likely will run on windows, but you would probably be sacrificing performance. I’d probably test it with wine first, if it doesn’t work go with windows. Good luck and congrats on your pi!

If I load raspberry OS on an external USB drive do I have to remove the SD card or once the bios is changed it will boot to the external drive? @@tony6261 If you’re raspberry pi is a newer revision, then it will probably have USB booting capabilities out of the box. If it doesn’t, you can follow this tutorial by leepspvideo: th-cam.com/video/suU09BMMFts/w-d-xo.html To see if it has USB booting capabilities by default, you can just remove your SD Card , plug in your USB drive and see if it boots. If it doesn’t follow that tutorial up there, through Raspberry Pi OS your SD Card. And yes, you should be able to use your SD card as storage after booting from your USB drive.
The problem was that my mesa build doesn't work on buster systems due glibc incompatibility. I would strongly recommend this script to be run on bullseye.
You can find it under All Apps, and in Tools>Emulation . Although the installation did not work for me. I explain my issue in my recent comment. Let me know if it works for you. It does not seem to be working for other people either based on other recent comments.
box86 isn’t really compatible with 64 Bit Operating Systems at the moment, at least without some special configuration. That’s why it doesn’t show up in Pi-Apps.

People are missing the point. Raspberry pi is not for this. It is mainly for input output control. How is this gonna help with that. Can a c# or delphi program run and how to do port io stuff.
@@Lukes-Tech I am using it to connect to a remote customer with an ancient system (after win XP PC died), so I only need to run a 15 year old maintenance software, so if it would actually run, I think the performance would be good enough for this. Maybe the Pi3 just froze or something, will try to reset it on site and try again. I installed wine and box86 manually before but I had the 2G/2G Kernel instead of the 3G/1G Kernel so maybe it was only interfering with that. The Pi-Apps is actually a genius Software because it was even able to change the Kernel very easily.
@@Lukes-Tech The remote connection always freezes as soon as you start certain stuff via Wine, but I tried running x86 Windows 7 Zip on it that worked very well. It wasn't even slow.
bad background music I don't have a problem making a new text file on raspberry pi so that didn't help I don't need zoom over all this was a waste of time and boring.

I tried the same to run CIV CTP, but it never worked fine. It always freeze after few seconds... Sad Story. Any Ideas?

Are you on a 64 Bit OS? Wine doesn’t work on 64 Bit systems, only 32 Bit.

It’s similar, however you have to install it on 64 bit systems while box86 works on 32 bit systems. (I don’t think wine works with box64 either.)

Yes, you can run games. Actually Linus used wine in his gaming series when he used “proton” in steam, since it’s based on wine. 😅

Tried this with a Raspberry Pi 3, even installing the 3G/1G Kernel worked, but it died while installing wine itself.
