I've done a lot of Mattboard cutting and have found that if you clamp the ruler guide in place really firmly, then you can concentrate on cutting down full depth, and cleanly. Without that it is really hard to get a clean cut. Great project by the way
There has to be some balance between featuring the beautiful figuring and carving out so much of said material to achieve complicated profiles. Let the figuring speak for itself and keep the profiles simple so as to minimize the waste.
Thanks for the input. I totally understand the cringe factor in cutting away so much of a beautiful material. Personally, I really like the balance I achieved, but I understand it’s not for everybody. Thanks for watching!
Congrats on your degree. For now you have been convinced that 42 is the answer, but you will eventually learn that it's simply not true. :-) Take care.
Thank you so much, Stephen, and we're happy our cutter head helps!
You bet. Thank you!

The $100-ish mat cutter from the Logan brand works well. Takes a tiny bit of practice, but eliminates those issues.
@deziomakes great advice. Thanks!
Good yo see you back in your shop.
@blanchewaterer9418 thanks! 😊

Nice, congrats on completing your studies, although one is never finished studying the Word of God are they ?
Thank you, and very true: it’s a lifelong endeavour, and there’s always more to learn and to be shaped by. Thanks for watching!
