Just purchased a Z330R with a 48" deck. In addition, I purchased the mulch kit and choose to put it on myself and same a bit of money. After watching your video it looks like I made a good call. The installation looks fairly simple. Thank you for sharing.
BUC10704 - The parts in the bag are not complete - only one m8 x 20 bolt when 2 are needed to secure discharge plate. The picture on the box only shows one bolt.
I've got the 2015 model year kit on my 42 inch z335e, I don't have my deflector chute installed. Mine just finally broke after years of constantly having to loosen up the pin that turns the door. Today I had to fabricate a handle & extension to attach to the exterior of the flap and then it tucks under a C shaped piece of metal I made, that attaches to the 2 inch height holes. I'll rework the fix one day, but for today it works better then it did after a few months of use.

What is the model number for this deflector kit? I bought the z335e and it was delivered on Sunday only to have the “suggested” mulch kit not fit. Where can I get one? Great video, thanks.
Excellent video I take my deck out of my D-130 all the time to do any type of work plus cleaning I purchased a 345 m 2 days ago it will be ready to pick up on Saturday I will be installing a mulch control right off the bat I was curious on how you take the deck off the lawn mower which it's basically the exact same as the D-130 I think you very much for your video and your time
Just got one coming from Lowes for my z355e. It has three blades and has a 48 inch deck. Can I install without taking the deck off? I have a tractor jack that gets it up in the air pretty good. Thx
@@ericcoe1760 I Believe the mulching blades are specially shaped to lift the grass, they have a different angle, do regular blades wouldn't work as well?
@@fyibyg7364 Are you a truther and TH-cam has some kind of overlay comment section to mess with you, because I noticed that most of the 63 comments (I see) don't make sense, like they're being written by a 10 year old in India who's never seen a John Deere. A video like this usually attracts mechanics not kids from foreign countries.

I had the bagger assembly installed, and am now installing the mulch control. It appears that I need to put the regular 'toe kick' back on in order to install the first baffle, because the toe kick that came with the bagger is angled in a way that I can't get the bolt in. I thought I read that the only thing that needed to be removed to move from bagging to mulching was the baffle, not the toe kick, so I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something...because I can't find the original toe kick... Anyone had this issue?
@@fyibyg7364 Aha! Watched your video again and saw at about 3:10 or so how particular you were about the placement...I was trying to put that tab to the inside instead of the outside. Great visuals, thanks so much! So the answer is for sure that yes, it works with the Bagger 'toe guard' and the only thing you have to remove to install the bagger chute is that rear baffle by removing the two bolts, which you can do from the outside of the mower without having to remove deck/get under mower. Thanks again!

The problem is that when it's in the open position, your mower will clog up because your discharge area is now about a half an inch.
There’s a lot of plastic in the kit.... wondering how it will stand up to a couple of years of cutting?
Well all I can say is I’ve installed about 4 of these kits. All are local people that I still have contact with and so far there’s been no complaints.
