The Sonic CD getting stuck in walls thing has been a problem since the original game, you can never predict where a walls gonna be so it’s bound to happen because of classic Sonic’s wack detection on the occasion
I remember in the Original version of CD if sonic does the "I’m Outta Here" thing in a certain spot in Quartz Quadrant it would cancel sonic jumping off and have him land in the middle of a wall.
I read this before the glitch came up and I was like "what the fuck is a knuckles fart glitch" and i kept it in the back of my head When it actually appeared I laughed too hard for absolutely not reason
In all seriousness, Sonic Origins really shows how far the gaming industry has fallen compared to when these games came out. Sonic 1, 2, CD, and 3+Knuckles would not be as beloved as they are today if the original Genesis releases were rushed, locked content behind paid DLC, and in general asked players to PAY the company to beta-test their games instead of the company paying actual QA testers to do that. Thank goodness for Sonic fangames reminding us that we shouldn’t settle for this like it’s our only option to play games these days, but man, what happened to well-funded corporations generally making better stuff than over-ambitious teenagers just making stuff for free? Isn’t capitalism and the thought of becoming wealthy with your work supposed to incentivize better, more polished products than other economic systems in general?
This game fully deserves the reviews it’s getting, because time and time again Sega proves to us that they couldn’t give a genuine rats ass about quality and giving extra time to the developers.
Thing is, that's not true. It's only true for Sonic. SonicTeam clearly didn't WANT to come back after Sonic 3 & Knuckles to make Sonic Adventure, the only reason SEGA made them make another Sonic is as a system seller to keep the Dreamcast from eating shit outside Japan like the Saturn did. And this does show, SonicTeam's Sonic games display a massive drop in passion following 3K. Why do you think there's barely any continuity at all? Why does it feel like so many of these games are just barely holding themselves together and the second you go off the intended path they just break? It's very interesting to me, how 3 perfectly fine and near flawless remakes, managed to get all fucked up and buggy, almost as if it was done intentionally. Now- look at Yakuza. Look at Phantasy Star Online 2. Two Point Hospital. Puyo Puyo Tetris. All beloved, all technologically sound. It's blatantly obvious at this point that Sonic is nothing but a paycheck for SEGA to let their developers use on games they actually care about. Speculation comes in here though, I think SEGA is intentionally sabotaging Sonic games. The games always sell well, even if they suck- Sonic 06 got a platinum release on 360. If people get a good Sonic game, they'll expect consistently good Sonic games from that point on, something SEGA absolutely does not want. Generations was a fluke, and Mania wasn't micromanaged hard enough. SEGA's milking Sonic dry, keeping it just mediocre enough to sell copies without being good enough for people to want more.

funny: its actually a bug. not a glitch the emeralds shrine (ig) is in a corner of hidden palace. the stage loads when the screen is white. there's a flag that loads along the stage, that flag makes it impossibile to pause so, naturally restarting restarts hidden palace zone, not the dang shrine
I think my favorite part about this whole situation (as someone who’s played all the prior released mobile versions, originals, and origins on night of release) is that the remastered versions on their own have absolutely none of, if not maybe a couple of these bugs (besides s3&k according to devs but that’s a whole different situation) like it’s absolutely hysterical that the moment sega touches the games they just fucking destroy them. I didn’t think a collection of 3 prior existing remasters could be so difficult to release lol
You don't know shit about those shitty remasters, just buy a SEGA Genesis and play the original games on a CRT to get the REAL classic Sonic experience.

Fun fact: Glitching through and into walls technically is considered a feature in the game manuals, or at least the sonic 3 one I think. If you fall into the wrong trap, you might have to reset the game (by pressing the RESET button) and start again at the beginning of the Zone you were last in. They are Sega. They never learn the right lessons. I mean after the franchise almost dying multiple times because they keep: 1: rushing the games. 2:sabotaging themselfs (and small companies) exemples: sonic boom and sonic 4. 3: hiring people who never worked on sonic games before (they hired three people to work on sonic forces level design who 2 never worked on a sonic game before and the other who only worked on sonic lost world) You would think they would learn their lesson.
I feel like they just imported the mobile versions of these games to pc, added some new levels, called them challenges, and called it a day cuz eggman stuck in the dying animation was in mobile, and I think the porting process had brought us new glitches, they rushed it and forgot to polish it, *sigh* well atleast they can focus more on frontiers now
I think that could also happen in other ports (or maybe the original too) if you didn't kill all of the Mini-Eggmans th-cam.com/users/shortsPLJQFD1Q5Y4
It really seems to be a simple matter of setting unreasonable deadlines, as if good games can be pooped out in a few months in this day and age of half-decade development times, combined with executive meddling and general incompetence and a “we’ll fix it in an update later” mentality. Sonic fangames constantly show us that, if SEGA would just leave the devs to their own devices and give them ample time to fully finish all their work, then none of this would even be an issue. Although that doesn’t explain why non-Sonic SEGA games like Yakuza and Two-Point Hospital are a million times better AND made in a fraction of the time Sonic Forces or Sonic Frontiers are developed in…
@Jeffrey Thrash I think you make game creation seem like an overcomplicated thing. It isn't like Origins is some HUGE OPEN WORLD game! This isn't gonna take THAT long to make! Now I don't know when they start making these games but it seems to me the issues with Sega and Sonic Team is this: -Poor time management -Hit or miss talent in the actual dev team -A tired dev team that has a motivation problem -Sega making unreasonable demands and people being tired of it
@@stormcutter59 Unless you have insight on game development please don’t make assumptions for talent of any kind of dev team Sega’s soulless deadlines are at fault here

@@SLVideo I could be using emulation and it would be considered a more definitive way to play these games. At least 3 and knuckles would keep the original soundtrack.
Context for the glitch at 6:10, there's one mission in the S3&K portion that's supposed to challenge you on fireball dashing, and normally you're locked to a specific part of the map for it. Unfortunately, whoever made that particular mission made a wall on the very top right path a little too short, making it possible to simply spin dash over it and continue the level normally. Funny thing about this is that there's another way it can go. If you enter a bonus/special stage prior to finishing the level, the game will soft crash, taking you to S3&K's main menu instead.
@@CheddarVG Since the levels themselves seem to have been modified, my best guess is that there was also some change, direct or indirect, to the level list itself. The changes made to the level don't seem to persist (or at least, I wasn't able to find the affected area) after the soft crash, and completing the level takes you to Act 2, so there's probably something in memory that makes this happen.
3:05 That quirk is also present in the 2013 mobile port. In my experience, for some reason the game would occasionally decide to keep Eggman's hitbox active after beating any boss, tho it used to happen a lot more often whenever i played EHZ Act 2 in the Time Attack mode as Sonic and Tails (aka player "00") via a glitch, which can also randomly softlock the menu after your run
It might be an underflow glitch. Eggman by default is set to take 8 hits to defeat. If the player hits Eggman again before his hitbox can be removed, The number of hits he has left until defeated goes below zero and sets itself as 255. A similar glitch happens in Sonic 1 with the final boss. Although I'm not sure if it ever happened in the original Sonic 2, much less the Christian Whitehead ports.
I like to think that Sonic sacrificed himself to keep Eggman from escaping. He saved Mobius from robotization. Eggman is gone. Forever. But at what cost?
@@thechugg4372 you should emulate the original anyway. Sonic CD is Taxman's worst port by some margin. Even just lengthening the time travel requirement cripples the game.
@@ChrisStoneinator You can completely bypass the time requirement by drop dashing back and forth in a small section. If you chain multiple drip dashes, you can time travel from any part of the stage, thus breaking the game.
4:12 happened in my blind playthrough, jump scared me as despite being in story mode up to that point, I was just happy to play sonic 3 consistently for almost after 7ish years 😂, had alot of nostalgia and such. I remember my solution is just let him die in the "seizure" water as I'm calling it
Interestingly, that same water glitch shows up in S3 alone (well at least in he original one, don't know about any other ports) in Launch Base Act 2 (by spin dashing into a nearby Fire Shield and then falling into water from the spindash, but I have no idea how they managed to make it even worse for Angel Island Act 2
In the mission 'Fireball Dash', there's a way to go past the grey cubes that are meant to be blocking you from going to the rest of the zone. Then you can get to the boss fight and complete the level. For some reason, it then takes you to a different mission which is impossible since it needs Knuckles.
You literally (i think) can complete the whole game in mission mode. Idk how this works but if you do this bug, it either teleports you in Knuckles' mission or title screen.
2:27 funny thing is that this is *less* glitchy than in the original sonic 2. In that game it just straight up carried you through the ground all the way to your death instead of you just getting stuck.

The reason why they probably rush to meet deadlines, despite the fact that people are vocal about being ok with delays if it helps with the game’s quality, is because shareholders aren’t ok with delays. They want to get paid now. I think shareholders ruin companies because they have a say in something they know nothing about, just because they have money.
@gircakes If the current make-up of the US Congress has taught me anything, it’s best to up that number to 55% for the extra cushion. We don’t want any Manchin, Sinema, or McCain-type contrarians siding with the enemy and torpedo-ing all of our ideas unless we kiss the ground upon which they walk.
Not familiar with how shareholding works, but I think it's worth mentioning that these games are typically bought by parents for their kids. These parents generally buy games based on a recognizable brand rather than any judgement of quality. That's why a lot of the rushed games in the series (even the good ones like 2 and pre-international Adventure) were released around Christmas-time, though the most recent blunders of this game + Colors Ultimate weren't.

The Sega logo played as usual with the voice saying the company's name. Sonic jumped towards the letters, knocking them out of the way as usual, but when the title screen came up, it said "Sonic 3 and [REDACTED]." I was confused as to why the title screen was saying that. I Knew wasn't a glitch because the game might have been modded. I started the game, and to my suprise, Knuckles was missing from the file select. I chose Sonic and Tails and then it started the intro. Everything in the intro was normal until I reached the place where Knuckles was supposed to be at. Sonic skidded instead and I kept all of my chaos emeralds, and I playthrough the game, getting all of the Master Emeralds because Knuckles was missing throughout the entire game, well... until Hidden Palace Zone. Of course the game skipped the Knuckles boss fight because... well he was missing. Then it went into a Cutsene where Dr. Robotnik was picking up the Master Emerald. Then Sonic went hyper and hit Dr. Robotnik 8 times like the other bosses. Then Robotnik's Machine exploded while the screen was slowly fading to white, and I got the best ending. Then the screen faded to a anti piracy screen. The picture was a bored S3 Sprite and text saying, "It is illegal to copy video games according to copyright law. If this is a mistake, please clean the cartridge and insert the cartridge back in. If not, please refer to your Sega Instruction Booklet Manual for further information." I checked my cartridge to see if there were any dust, and there was. I blew the dust out of the cartridge and inserted back in. When I did, everything was back to normal. Knuckles was there as usual. Turns out it wasn't modded at all, and it was just dust.
5:17 I find this glitch actually kinda unnerving, sonic was supposed to be dead by drowning but getting hit by an enemy cancelled it out, there's no music playing, sonic can't progress and at the same time he can't destroy the enemies, like he suddenly doesn't exist. All I'm saying is that if I was a kid and came across this glitch, I would've probably had nightmare.
SEGA finally listened to us and they're now once again working with Simon "Stealth" Thomley and Headcannon to rework and fully improve Sonic Origins with Sonic Origins Plus this summer.
These games worked right 30 years ago on the Genesis/Sega CD and they still worked right 20 years ago on the Mega Collection. This is what happens when you change the Ice Cap Zone music.

In one of the new Missions, specifically Fireball Dash, theres a barrier the devs put in to prevent you from getting into a part of the zone you shouldn't access. Using the spindash can make you fly over that barrier, causing you to be able to go through the rest of the zone, collect chaos emeralds, fight the boss and complete the act, which you obviously aren't supposed to do. The game doesn't know what to do, so it takes you to another mission, which is impossible to complete since you're supposed to do it with knuckles. In other cases, it brings you to the title screen, in which you can play a buggy version of sonic 3&k, and collect all the chaos emeralds.

Wait, since this was Mushroom Hill Act 1, why did it load into Icecap Act 2, or did it load into another mission altogether?
@@CheddarVG Since the levels themselves seem to have been modified, my best guess is that there was also some change, direct or indirect, to the level list itself. The changes made to the level don't seem to persist (or at least, I wasn't able to find the affected area) after the soft crash, and completing the level takes you to Act 2, so there's probably something in memory that makes this happen.

Some glitch that was presented in this video were existed in the 2013 mobile port

@Dimdim You think WE can save Sega? I don't but I'm always open to the idea!

Not familiar with how shareholding works, but I think it's worth mentioning that these games are typically bought by parents for their kids.

5:49 That one actually happened to me when I was playing the 2011 remaster of Sonic CD, except I died a lot quicker.
Same I was playing mobile Sonic CD
Same!
4:12 I remember that bug also happening in Launch Base Zone in the original game, but this bug in origins is a whole new level of ridiculousness.

These games worked right 30 years ago on the Genesis/Sega CD and they still worked right 20 years ago on the Mega Collection. This is what happens when you change the Ice Cap Zone music.

Imagine running out of air underwater, and then you're just fine. Like Mario, I guess
This just shows how sad this collection that could’ve been something great turn out to be a rushed joke of a collection. This should’ve been more polished and fixed than it’s predecessors, but it ended up being one of the worst collections ever. I am sure this is still pretty fun, especially with the cutscenes and challenges, but after seeing all of this, it makes me sad. I just hope they somehow update this and sort out the bugs and make it more polished than it should be cuz bugs are no good!
It's fine they'll patch everything

Tragic events in history: Sonic's death. (while jumping out of a plane he forgot his parachute.)
Damn Dr. Robotnik really threw in a lot more diabolical traps this time around
That moment you release 30 year old games in the most cutting edge tech but you're Sonic Team
I just finished playing all the games in order over the span of a few days and the only things that kinda bugged me is the fact that you can't change direction in mid air when you're drop dashing, and the drills in Marble Garden being a bit glitchy when you're Super Sonic, other than that I got none of these
What version did you play? I'm playing on PS5 and can confirm I've had a lot of them bugs, and also bugs that weren't in this compilation

Christ died for your sins and rose on the third day, showing that anyone who trusts in him for salvation, will have everlasting life.
(John 11:25-26) "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
(John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
That's not a bug, sonic 1 and 2 have something called rolljump lock where you can't change direction mid-air after jumping out of a roll
I played on switch and the only bug I encountered is the tails jump
that's because they forgot to remove roll-jump lock, the whole thing that made the dropdash work.
Finally the classics are to modern (06-present day) standards.
Sonic 06 has to be the glitchest game in the franchise.
Origins: "I'm bout to do a what is called a power move."
6:00 honestly when I occasionally played the gem's version (my first version), I always figured this should actually happen at some point 😅
6:20 bro how is that even possible
Lmao idk
In one of the new Missions, specifically Fireball Dash, theres a barrier the devs put in to prevent you from getting into a part of the zone you shouldn't access. Using the spindash can make you fly over that barrier, causing you to be able to go through the rest of the zone, collect chaos emeralds, fight the boss and complete the act, which you obviously aren't supposed to do.
The game doesn't know what to do, so it takes you to another mission, which is impossible to complete since you're supposed to do it with knuckles. In other cases, it brings you to the title screen, in which you can play a buggy version of sonic 3&k, and collect all the chaos emeralds.
so cool that they released a collection of the beta version of these games!

i think sega needs to find which coders just aren't good at their job.
The devs are awesome, sega literally released an unfinished version of the game. It was NOT the devs fault
Headcannon (Stealth) voiced his frustrations making sonic origins on Twitter, the reason why the game came in the state it's in is because Sega rushed shit as always
