Russ also wishes Leslie a speedy recovery and hopes he's back on the show very soon. Which we now know, sadly, never happened. Leslie Crowther was a class act on this show. One of those rare gameshow hosts who realised that the show was mainly about the contestants, and not themselves.
All these Elvis impersonate res really great true. Test sing his songs when he was.young like his beautiful slow love song forever young. Fame and. Fortune hurt. My girl. Best friend
Russ Abbott did an amazing job hosting this episode, Matthew Kelly then took the show onwards and upwards, but Leslie Crowther's time as host were my favourite, Leslie Crowther was an absolute Top Bloke who's time was cut short pretty much as a result of his horrific car accident, he left us though with some great TV Gold moments and started one of the best series of the singalike show which through the years brought us some great acts
I remember Matthew Kelly said he was just a custodian for Leslie for the first 2 series he did, but once it became apparent Leslie couldn't do it anymore and announced his retirement, he got the show outright. Leslie passed away 2 years later.
Am I the only one that thinks that this is a bit disturbing? It appears to me that all of these guys actually think they ARE elvis! I know a few guys like this and each one of them are slightly soft in the loft, pretending to be someone else is a form of mental illness.
