363 - The CRT Have to PULL us Past This COLLAPSED WALL! Narrowboat Cruise Through Worksop

- Today we cruise through Worksop, where we have to book passage due to a collapsed fall, that fell a year ago! Due to it being owned by the council and not the crt, both parties are arguing over who should pay for it. Due to the fact that it "might" collapse at any moment we can't navigate it ourselves, we must book 48h in advance to be pulled through by a crt member. Once we do get through Worksop we head into Shireoaks Marina, where were able to get water and a pump-out, but shockingly instead of staying at the busy towpath at Shireoaks, we decide to head back down through Worksop in the same day in a race against time to get back to the wall before the 3:30pm when the Crt member finishes for work...

Nice video hope you are feeling happier today josh, have a lovely weekend 😊😊
Thanks Chris 😊
Chin up josh, your mum does enough smiling for you all .
I wish sometimes Josh and Andy were a bit more smiley Elaine. But like you say I make up for it. A smile doesn't hurt anyone and hopefully it puts a smile on everyone's faces 😊😊
Hi Diann Andy & Josh that mystery Bridge number 71 in the Nicholson guide book on page 44 it's called
Taylors Bridge how amazing is that !!
I think we did notice that and also their us a Taylors Lock but can't remember what canal it's on.😊
❤ That was interesting….so glad you had help and got through safely. An adventure. Showing us real life. you deserved a rest next day. interesting to see. thank you. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Nancy. Sending hugs 🫂
Don’t worry Josh. She is coming back. It must have been an awful fortnight for you all. I’m so glad you told us in the last video she did come back. You would have had so many people terribly anxious too. Still another very interesting film on the Chesterfield canal. I wonder how there will be a hole in the wall??? 🤔
This wall fell down nearly a year ago Marilyn and hasn't been fixed yet. The problem CRT are having is this isn't there land so I think there is a bit of a dispute going on to who has to repair it and who pays for it.
Canal life is always interesting. Thank you
It most definitely is. No day is the same and we love it still after nearly 3 years.
@@darkmatterxi who wouldn’t love it I wish we had canals in Australia
I have been to Australia. Its a wonderful country. Stayed in Cairns when my son Luke was travelling. It was a bit humid but lovely.
I went to Cairns for a holiday a couple of years ago. Nice place we went in March so not so humid!

I didnt make it that far. I got stuck in deep lock. So annoying. Thats a stunning canal guys. Full of chubb, bream. 👍👍
It's full of carp as well Will and so clear. It's a shame you missed this part as its just as nice as all the rest. Love this canal xx
Very interesting journey been to Worksop many times as the company I work for had a branch there with the main branch in chesterfield.
Very good vlog 👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it Thomas and it bought back some memories 😊
Hi every one, that lark with the wall might be due to the likely hood that propwash from passing boats may well wash the perished mortar out of the wall. Saying that Y'all had more nerve than I could raise going near it . All the best Mad John
Hi John, you might be right there and I don't think the CRT can trust people. Most of them probably wouldn't get off their boats and pull themselves through that's why the lock the previous lock and this one.
Lovely cruise. I don't blame you for wanting to go back the same day. I'm guessing Ash was still missing.
This was the Tuesday and Ash decided to come home eventually on the Saturday at 5am in the morning so all good and now she has been neutered 😊
An idea. Why don't you get everyone to guess how many locks in total you've operated since you started cruising from day one. The winner gets a meet up, tour of olive and a small cruise. Just a thought. Great vlog!
That sounds like a good idea. I will see what Josh says but I don't think we would have a clue how many without alot of work.
