- Today me and mum continue our epic cruise through Milton Keynes which will be perhaps our longest canal cruise on record. At 30 odd miles, luckily the weather is good and we have plenty of daylight hours, there's but one lock in Milton, the rest is miles and miles of parkland and urban areas, but this is one of the nicest and most boater-friendly cities on the canal network, with bearly any litter or graffiti it really is a pleasant place to cruise through, when we reach the outskirts we pass over the river Ouse on the cast iron aqueduct, which has a very interesting story to tell. Heading up one more lock we pass the abandoned Buckingham arm and onwards through some outstanding countryside to Stoke Bruerne where we finally moor up.

Wow Josh you sure did a load of research on Milton Keynes. We have been visiting there for get together with all our friends ex Durban South Afric at the pub by the marina. Never knew all that history about the place at all. Thank you , that was brilliant.

As long as you move on after 48 hours or 2 weeks I don't think you have to go far. We just love cruising 😊
