  • Learn how to transition between upright and inverted hurricanes, perform the mobius, complete verticle loop figure 8's and horizontal figure 8's. The key to good 3D heli transitions is working on performing these smoothly and lots of practice. For more information check out www.chadrg.com

I know this video is seven years old, but I got sucked into this hobby because of you. I first started with a small blade mcpx and came here for help. I remember spending hours on the sim trying complete a circle, and still not being able to do it. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm now doing pyroflips on a whiplash turbine. There's no way I would've made it this far without your help. Thanks friend!

@EllasPapa In phoenix or your radio you can add expo. Expo will soften the controls so the heli doesn't feel so twitchy. Don't worry about how long it takes to learn a certain step. Just enjoy the satisfaction of getting there. Learning to hover is a key skill you must master to progress in 3D. Hang in there you will get it. And when you do try your blade 400 just go slow. Get it light on the skids and take your time. Training gear is even a good idea.

This was quite helpful as I am getting back into flying helicopters. Making tons of progress but this the area that I need work in right now.

I used 100% speed on the sim to learn this move but I spent months teaching myself to slow down the rudder. Good work getting the move in 3 months. It took me much longer.

I discovered this and the earlier videos by accident, the morphing transitions are v helpful for me as I am at that stage now, and I hope you continue to do more tutorial videos. 4 point tic-tocs, rolling and flipping circles .. odd-ball moves like hitting the wall, or knife-edge drops..

I have been flying for about three years now. So it has taken me this long and I have a long ways to go. But I have been enjoying learning. Couldn't say that I have a favorite heli because I have only owned Align stuff. But I would have to say my T-rex 700N is a great machine.

Hi, your videos are really helpful. Today I is the first time I'm able to do the piroflip, after 3 month of practice. It is important to understand the move and it will come automatically.Morphing is the starting for piroflip. Will you put some more video?you don' t imagine who helpful they are. I tried to learn on the same sim and I found easier to decrease the sim speed to learn and get back to 100% after understand the movement. Can you tell me what speed did you use on the video?
    Thanks

Hi there, great video! Thank you! Would it possible to make the transmitter larger to better illustrate the stick movement?

your 3d skills are amazing. which i could have half of them. the videos are really helpfull but the figure 8 morphing transition are hard to practice. everytime i change from backwards to inverted backwarts, i loose speed and come out of the 8th ? how about collective control in figure 8th transitions ?

Hello zfloop thanks for the lesson!
Question, I just started on the sim ( 30 hrs) and I'm just able to over tail in but not in one spot the heli gets away from me frequently, what kind of settings if any should I have on the edit tab of the Phoenix sim? What should I expect from going from sim to live? I will be attempting my first hover on monday with blade400 never flown before, is a year 30 minute sim practice a reasonable time table to learn 3d? thanks for sharing your knowledge!
