Wow. This was just phenomenal. Congrats. He did you dirty in the post credits. Could have even had a secret cutscene where he dunks on the fact you’re such a game protagonist that you cannot lose. Great match. I really do hope that, with the dlc coming out, we get some more story with the newer characters popping up.

It's wild! I think I saw someone else online say that they thought the fight just overwrites your top card with another card and that's how it controls it which would make a lot of sense
well several story mode skills have trigger check rate manipulation as part of their effect, so some degree of bypassing the deck stack needed to be in the game's code anyway.
Yeah! It would have been cool if there was at least a little Easter egg where Kanji starts his normal lines and then is like "Wait what?" But at least we can savor that "Win" screen at the end of the fight! lol
Hands down an intense fight with a lot of forethought put into it. Well done man! I didn't even know this fight was beatable aside from deck out until you mentioned the Prison order card, then everything fell into place.

I honestly like that the Devs still worked under the limits of the rules. Sure Kanji always Checks but he can’t Check more than he has. Sure, you will never Check a Trigger but you do if they are the only things you can. The Fight is winnable because the AI still plays by the rules. Sure it’s a game that will almost never ever happen in real life but theoretically, it could.

And the Pokemon Emerald's theme too, love the nostalgic I got from the video. Yeah, Devs should have just worked out the max VP you can get for every fight after this fight and just given you the total amount if you could win and score an early game. Or it just turns off all your opponant’s D-Skills and any negatives from yours afterwards. Or both.
If Ominagruzio ever gets added to Dear Days, I'd like to see you retry the fight against Kanji with it. Kanji's gonna feel like a silly boy when his coveted damage trigger defense TM gets rendered useless

I would like to make an update that as of May 10th 2024 at approximately 2:49 p.m. I after what more than likely was over 150+ battles not even counting the resets from rock-paper-scissors loss have finally defeated Kanji Meguro!! If somehow any other people come across this video and get the game for themselves please really ask yourself if you want to take on this challenge. Is grueling it is taxing and honestly it will take up a lot of your time time that could be spent doing other things unless you are persistent and Petty like myself. I don't ever want to have to do a fight like that ever again because between having to calculate every single move and shield I'm trying to figure out certain things about the AI while battling this is probably been the most hard-fought battle I've ever done in in my entirety of playing Vanguard and I hope to never do it again!! 😂🤣😅 I need a freaking 0.01% PlayStation trophy for this achievement.

Very late to this, especially with the current packs out (which I didn’t buy at the time I came back to DD), the fight itself is very intense, especially when you’re a Magnolia deck pushed to 4 damage and always, always, always on the constant threat of 2 crit attacks. For 3. Whole. Turns… The fight itself was fun, though slightly hollow seeing as how my win con switch from dealing 6 damage to just straight up surviving till deck out with relent after relent AFTER RELENT attacks of 2 damage. This fight taught me a lot more than any of the other fights. I’ll want to do this fight again to give it another go and to list to his sweet banger track. I will also add, my funniest interaction with him is his D-skill activated, but I still managed to pull 2 triggers on a triple drive, 1st and 3rd. He already has a massive edge VS me using “Don’t hold back!” XD

Hummmm I have a question, so when Kanji only have two in deck wouldn't the uploader win if he called a rear-guard? If I am not wrong Favrneel must draw and put a card into the soul if he retired a unit.
Favrneel's card from hand to soul and draw ability is optional since the 'card from hand to soul' part is a cost! I think the ai tends to use the skill most times out of ten regardless, and as long as you have enough shield to block the rear guards then it doesn't really matter either way!
I don't know if there's anywhere with all of that at the moment, but what I did for this thumbnail is that I let Kanji hit my Vanguard (I think for 6 damage but I don't remember) and do his little scene so he popped up and I recorded it and just stole the frame! That should work with any character and their boss unit if that would help you out enough!!
Calling this fight doable is an overstatement at least with the above deck. Its very RNG based, I just barely managed it after houses upon hours of attempts. What it comes down to is hoping for the right draws during the battle and hoping Kanji draws are of a certain kind. Firstly whether or not he removes from the prison comes down to whether his soul is enough so the fight REQUIRES you to get rid of his rank 0, and either retire or temporarily imprison his purple grade 1 card which he often uses for boosts later on, i prefer retire because hoo boy its bad if he gets it back later. Ultimately this means if you cant do the above its not likely you will win. You also cannot win if you dont go first, not enough chances to quickly imprison so the rank 2 or below perfect guard cant be used which is really bad. Kanji wont call from the prison if he has cards in his hand which are better or the same so it comes down to his hand too, based on repeated attempts I am pretty sure the game gives him a number of "Patterns" in his opening hand but the rest is probably RNG. Kanji wont ever draw triggers outside his drive and damage checks, so he will always draw some other useful cards. The triggers he draws are not random but always what he needs in a given moment: He has 7 critical triggers, 4 heal triggers and 4 draw triggers, aside from his overtrigger. Even if you ride the rank 4 you can't win without riding 2 times minimum, so if you lose 3 copies to damage or soul charge your fucked, if you lose too many defensive cards to yourself or damage your fucked. Again this is with this deck alone its very likely there are better methods with other cards, but prison is what i'd the call the bare mimimum
There's definitely improvements to be made on the build for sure, it was an early iteration of the idea, plus this video is like, over a year old. It only has access to the base card pool, so there's obviously WAY better stuff to use nowadays lmao And the fight definitely has some elements of rng to it, because going first is absolutely a huge advantage. But there is definitely less rng than you're making out to be. For example, guarding the G2 you can use the critical effect heals as well (because they activate from the Overtrigger) which gives you 25k shield to work with on that attack. So even if you don't have Deri Violet, you have 4 extra options in deck to help guard that attack Your goal is also to have as few rear guards as possible so that Kanji only gets the draw for turn to be a normal unit. By imprisoning and swinging at rear guards correctly, he can't draw enough normal units to sustain a proper board, so he will need to use resources and call from the prison. At which point, you may have the opportunity to push him a bit further If you play well then it's a super doable fight. Definitely takes a more intricate understanding of both decks and what the best route of progression is depending on how the situation develops though
@@vazis While I do see where you are coming from your kinda missing my point here, when you soul charge there is always a chance you will lose some valuable cards thats one bit of RNG. Your starting hand is another bit of RNG, your damage checks are another though thankfully the game likes to ensure its mostly perfect triggers or worse other valuable cards, this can be minimized by holding off the damage at 3 or 4 for a few turns, actually I'd argue you have to until you can start getting triggers. Your own drive checks are the real RNG imo, because you NEED certain cards at the right time and not taking up space in your hand early on which you need to survive his onslaught. This aside based on my tests I have also found he only guards with 1 specific card because of its skill until he is cornered. So I'd be curious to try decks which constantly stand the vanguard again to see how it shakes out, those decks would also get you to the triggers faster.
I don't think I'm missing the point, because I understand it well and full! However, I think you might be missing mine, as I'm saying that it isn't a notable concern outside of extreme cases. As long as you have the deck built properly and pilot it properly at least. Because there are several different cards that can help you advance to the later stages of the game, thereby forcing a moderate level of consistency due to the premise of the fight
This game came out last November and it is available in the U.S.! You can get it digitally either on Steam or on the Switch! (But if you get it on the Switch I'd recommend getting it through a foreign e-shop like the Brazilian e-shop and then playing it on your other accounts since it costs less that way!)
Yeah it's wild!! I think something I heard someone say before was correct which is that the fight just overwrites the top card of your deck, so stacking doesn't help too much in the end

Vision token, and to topped it off with Asura But my friend said that he defeated it by burning the top deck of the opp’s deck with shout? So my conclusion is the deck had a set pattern where the 1st card of the top deck till the end will be the same Not like getting overwrite the topdeck like this one and even checking the OT during the very first turn? That’s rly amazing!

Yeah it was weird, I don't remember how or why but I do remember consciously writing Melting Heart off for the first time I built the deck to fight Kanji! I'm just glad I realized how valuable the card was for the second go around lol!
@@Shuwa217 Oh yeah she's in the game!! I was thinking about trying her since it could definitely help deck Kanji out a bit faster, so it's a really good card to run for sure! But I didn't want to have too many cards that I would need to slap on board since I would definitely lose them to Favrneel. Although if I were to do this again I would probably replace Limone since it didn't feel like she did a lot in hindsight and Makarite could be a great replacement! I would need to be pretty cautious with soul though since I ran on empty in this fight lol
I do remember running 4 copies of a free imprison grade 2, let me check Found it, Cuff Spring. She's the common that makes opp imprison 1 draw 1 when placed on rear How about your grade 1 lineup? I run Chevelstud as a better deck filler at 3, I run 4 Riot Beeble who's a 20k shield on Purelight, 4 Surpress Gleamer which can filter herself when placed on rear from hand, maybe Shirer Zenith is a better replacement for Chevalstud for your soul issue? Before Riot Beeble I ran Tear Croca at 4 which gave me CB issues
@@Shuwa217 I don't super plan on doing the fight again since running it back wouldn't be too different I think (unless I could beat him with 0 damage or something crazy like that!) but cuff spring would be a pretty good option!! I don't know how good the draws from Cuff/Favrneel may or may not be since it would let Kanji have more normal units in hand to make a more menacing board, but maybe it could be really good with the 20k shield G1 you mentioned!! I can definitely say that the deck could be improved after I did that fight with it, cause a few of the cards didn't end up doing too much, so there's definitely some wiggle room for upgrades!

I definitely agree, that's why I think if you can buy it from the Brazilian eShop on the Switch or anywhere else, it really really helps out! For me it made the game $35 for the base game and $35 for the dlc, which is the same price as just the main game in the U.S.! It's wild
I'm currently trying this build against him and I've gotten so close to a deck out nine cards but he keeps hitting me with for a tax when I'm on the grade 1 and I usually don't I want to use any of my cards should I just take the full four attacks? Not only that it's so hard to get the orders you need on time. Currently trying to beat him myself before I asked for helping your Discord or something. Its really up to chance otherwise it's a pretty fun stall deck
If one of the attacks are a 5k guard or just a small guard then I think it would definitely be worth it to block one of those! Otherwise, you do take a lot of damage on the turn 1 due to the OT. It was also really helpful for me to go first! I don't know if that's something that you're actively seeking out in the fight, but I do feel like it has a HUGE impact on the pace since you get to yoink some of the G1 board and you get to call some cards to board to attack RGs and also to intercept! Plus you can get Deri Violet off against the VG early which is massive too And going off of the second list at 22:15 there are also some changes you could make with cards from the time to optimize it a bit better, like Limone didn't do too much in the fight and the G1 with purple hair next to the starter also didn't do a whole lot. So they can be swapped out with other stuff like a G1 that's 20k shield of Pure light iirc that should help out a lot if you're interested in that!
Hey thanks for the reply I definitely try to go first that's honestly the most difficult sometimes as for the grade 1 card that gives 20K defense what's the name of it I'll give it a try, what's really hard is getting the right setup cards in the beginning sometimes I don't get the order sometimes Violet doesn't show up another factors and when it comes to writing the grade 4 sometimes I don't know if I should attack because when I use her ability he doesn't have units on the field for me to attack so I can't get the cards from the triple drive so at that point should I just stall and not attack him cuz that's what happened with my closest experience he had no units to attack but I had to attack him cuz I need a defense in my hand we're doing so gave him counterblast to basically almost fill up his field and demolish me😢
@@anubisgodess2353 The G1 is called "Aurora Battle Princess, Riot Beeble"! Although you definitely do need to have some good cards at the start, having either Deri Violet or the Critical Effect Heal at the start both work really well! Because the critical heal can block the VG by itself as long as it doesn't have a booster! With 8 options for blocking the G2 VG it will be a little rng, but it should be pretty manageable to find one of them! As for the order, that one is one you kinda just gotta find. But as long as you don't soul charge or damage too many, all of the drive checks being non trigger units should help you find them at an okay rate! Chevalstud is also super clutch for that, Cheval is one of the ideal cards to find early if you can. Getting both Cheval and Agra Rouge is really nice because then you can set yourself up pretty well with some drawing and Rouge's shield going first! As for attacking with Purelight, my decision making process revolves around a few things. If you ride Purelight and Kanji doesn't have a lot of soul for restanding or a lot of hand, then I'd say it's good to attack the VG! Because since Kanji only drive checks triggers, you can use that to your advantage and go for some damage while he doesn't have access to a lot of units! And then once he can restand, you can send in the order to help out! It's best if Kanji doesn't have more than 2 CB available at a time because then the CB can't all go to making soul, calling board and restanding! So attacking as little as possible other than to RGs is super clutch. But, it's more than good to give Kanji the CB if you have the order in hand and a good amount in the Prison, because then the restand is just a waste of the CB! The only other thing I can think to mention is that you pretty much want to have 0 cards for Kanji to retire throughout the game if you can outside of one or two Chevalstud, because then the triggers in hand can turn into units on board. Plus giving 'em the extra damage isn't super beneficial anyways, so keeping stuff in hand is good! You probably already do that, but it's the only other piece of advice I'd have to give lol. Letting 'em do the retire to draw is really nice, but lasting to the really late turns helps a lot more imo
Hi yaaa its been a bit and I have yet to topple this boob windo himbo Im probably close to over 100 loses and thats not counting the resets of Rock paper scissors. Are there any updated recommended builds for the Aurora battles sisters that you would recommend that can make this just a little bit easier? Or any other decks for that matter. I'd like to defeat them with the battle princesses but at this point I just want to overcome this Summit that's been like a few months in the making

There are some other cards you can run to help out if you want! For one, there's a G1 that is 20k shield while you're on the G4 which can help a ton! And you can switch Limone out for something more useful if that'd be helpful too. Other than that, going first was really huge for me since I was able to grab the starter and slow down how much Kanji could grab out of the prison, keeping to that and swinging to rear guards helped make it so they didn't have a lot of options to call stuff out, but you've probably already been doing that last part lol
Whats so cool about this fight during my first playthrough I actually defeated him by deck out. All three times the first eazy fight the very end of story fight and funny enough this cheating fight. Flagburg forces him to guard with many guards despite not needing to. And if he uses 3pgs he will drop 3 cards for each of their guard effects. Then again i have yet to try this again in the new updated game.
Yo I'm glad you were able to do that!! Flagburg was one of the ones I was considering if I needed to try to outpace Kanji, but it seemed pretty unlikely to do with how likely it seemed he would be to miracle heal, and I wasn't super confident that it would draw enough. Eva also seemed pretty good for it, but I never tried it out fully. But glad you got to do it with Flagburg!!

Do you get Kanji's deck recipe by doing this? I got everybody else's deck recipes in the game, the only one I have no idea of how to get is Kanji's (I have made a good Favrneel deck myself, but I want the in-game deck recipe for the sake of collection purpose). I was thinking that maybe Kanji's could be gotten by beating this fight, or perhaps by defeating all the CPU opponents in the CPU fights mode.
I didn't get anything special from this fight as far as I am aware. I haven't checked my deck recipes at all so I don't know if it's even possible to get Kanji's deck, but once I am at my Switch I can let you know if I have it!
@@minhajshad2534 So I just checked and I do have Kanji's deck list! It's right after Gosetsu's on my list. But to make sure whether I got it from that fight or not, I checked the highlight on my Twitch of me beating it and I didn't see it pop up, so I don't think I got it from beating that fight. I don't think I've fought all of the characters in the character fight either, so I don't really know where it might have come from, my only guess might be if you skip through the story mode for Yuki again or doing ranked fights? I'm not super sure

Man, I went into this fight with Hexorb. I didn't even know that the fight was rigged the whole time! I checked the top card over and over with no trigger and just thought it was really bad luck! Ugh...the beat down was predestined from the start...
Yeah it can be really rough lol. I didn't even know about it until I was watching someone else play that section and someone mentioned Outerorange tried to stack the deck with Hexa but it didn't work! I never even thought that the fight would mess with known cards like that!
Oh awesome!! I would have thought that Kanji would have guaranteed miracle healed in the scripted fight and then he'd be chilling hard, but double Mahar and Esperaridea definitely sounds like it could do the job on aggro if anything could!
Question? Couldn't you have won a bit sooner by calling one of the RG when you started to hit triggers?. Force the retire, let him Soul build and thus be at less cards, unless the AI stops placing into Soul once he hits the 13 Dark States check
I think it definitely would have done the draw since the AI of the game doesn't seem to consider the number of cards in deck when doing things! But with the hand size that Kanji had, I don't know if he would have let the rear guard hit or not, which would have been vital if that was the route I had gone. Since if I had called and then been guarded, even if Kanji drew from Favrneel's skill, he would have still had 1 card left in deck so I would have needed to have the capacity to guard all of his attacks. And since the only card I could have called from hand the turn before was the critical trigger, I wouldn't have had enough shield to block everything, so I thought it better to be in the middle of the road risk wise, win if the VG hit and win if I got enough shield to live!

@@tatsuyahimuro9889 The Switch version has regional pricing, so it is cheaper in certain countries! So if someone were to buy the game from the Brazilian e-shop and download it onto their Switch, all of the other accounts (regardless of their language) can all play it in their native language! So it's just spending less for the same product! There is a video out by MeloettaMatt that explains it a bit further if you want to learn more about the process 👍

It's wild! I think I saw someone else online say that they thought the fight just overwrites your top card with another card and that's how it controls it which would make a lot of sense
well several story mode skills have trigger check rate manipulation as part of their effect, so some degree of bypassing the deck stack needed to be in the game's code anyway.

Hands down an intense fight with a lot of forethought put into it. Well done man! I didn't even know this fight was beatable aside from deck out until you mentioned the Prison order card, then everything fell into place.

I honestly like that the Devs still worked under the limits of the rules. Sure Kanji always Checks but he can’t Check more than he has. Sure, you will never Check a Trigger but you do if they are the only things you can. The Fight is winnable because the AI still plays by the rules. Sure it’s a game that will almost never ever happen in real life but theoretically, it could.

Yeah, Devs should have just worked out the max VP you can get for every fight after this fight and just given you the total amount if you could win and score an early game. Or it just turns off all your opponant’s D-Skills and any negatives from yours afterwards. Or both.

I would like to make an update that as of May 10th 2024 at approximately 2:49 p.m. I after what more than likely was over 150+ battles not even counting the resets from rock-paper-scissors loss have finally defeated Kanji Meguro!!
If somehow any other people come across this video and get the game for themselves please really ask yourself if you want to take on this challenge.
Is grueling it is taxing and honestly it will take up a lot of your time time that could be spent doing other things unless you are persistent and Petty like myself.
I don't ever want to have to do a fight like that ever again because between having to calculate every single move and shield I'm trying to figure out certain things about the AI while battling this is probably been the most hard-fought battle I've ever done in in my entirety of playing Vanguard and I hope to never do it again!! 😂🤣😅

Very late to this, especially with the current packs out (which I didn’t buy at the time I came back to DD), the fight itself is very intense, especially when you’re a Magnolia deck pushed to 4 damage and always, always, always on the constant threat of 2 crit attacks. For 3. Whole. Turns…
The fight itself was fun, though slightly hollow seeing as how my win con switch from dealing 6 damage to just straight up surviving till deck out with relent after relent AFTER RELENT attacks of 2 damage.
This fight taught me a lot more than any of the other fights. I’ll want to do this fight again to give it another go and to list to his sweet banger track.
I will also add, my funniest interaction with him is his D-skill activated, but I still managed to pull 2 triggers on a triple drive, 1st and 3rd. He already has a massive edge VS me using “Don’t hold back!” XD

Hummmm I have a question, so when Kanji only have two in deck wouldn't the uploader win if he called a rear-guard? If I am not wrong Favrneel must draw and put a card into the soul if he retired a unit.
Favrneel's card from hand to soul and draw ability is optional since the 'card from hand to soul' part is a cost! I think the ai tends to use the skill most times out of ten regardless, and as long as you have enough shield to block the rear guards then it doesn't really matter either way!
Um do you know where can I find character sprites and cg's of dear days?
I don't know if there's anywhere with all of that at the moment, but what I did for this thumbnail is that I let Kanji hit my Vanguard (I think for 6 damage but I don't remember) and do his little scene so he popped up and I recorded it and just stole the frame! That should work with any character and their boss unit if that would help you out enough!!
Calling this fight doable is an overstatement at least with the above deck. Its very RNG based, I just barely managed it after houses upon hours of attempts.
What it comes down to is hoping for the right draws during the battle and hoping Kanji draws are of a certain kind. Firstly whether or not he removes from the prison comes down to whether his soul is enough so the fight REQUIRES you to get rid of his rank 0, and either retire or temporarily imprison his purple grade 1 card which he often uses for boosts later on, i prefer retire because hoo boy its bad if he gets it back later.
Ultimately this means if you cant do the above its not likely you will win. You also cannot win if you dont go first, not enough chances to quickly imprison so the rank 2 or below perfect guard cant be used which is really bad.
Kanji wont call from the prison if he has cards in his hand which are better or the same so it comes down to his hand too, based on repeated attempts I am pretty sure the game gives him a number of "Patterns" in his opening hand but the rest is probably RNG.
Kanji wont ever draw triggers outside his drive and damage checks, so he will always draw some other useful cards. The triggers he draws are not random but always what he needs in a given moment: He has 7 critical triggers, 4 heal triggers and 4 draw triggers, aside from his overtrigger.
Even if you ride the rank 4 you can't win without riding 2 times minimum, so if you lose 3 copies to damage or soul charge your fucked, if you lose too many defensive cards to yourself or damage your fucked.
Again this is with this deck alone its very likely there are better methods with other cards, but prison is what i'd the call the bare mimimum
There's definitely improvements to be made on the build for sure, it was an early iteration of the idea, plus this video is like, over a year old. It only has access to the base card pool, so there's obviously WAY better stuff to use nowadays lmao
And the fight definitely has some elements of rng to it, because going first is absolutely a huge advantage. But there is definitely less rng than you're making out to be. For example, guarding the G2 you can use the critical effect heals as well (because they activate from the Overtrigger) which gives you 25k shield to work with on that attack. So even if you don't have Deri Violet, you have 4 extra options in deck to help guard that attack
Your goal is also to have as few rear guards as possible so that Kanji only gets the draw for turn to be a normal unit. By imprisoning and swinging at rear guards correctly, he can't draw enough normal units to sustain a proper board, so he will need to use resources and call from the prison. At which point, you may have the opportunity to push him a bit further
If you play well then it's a super doable fight. Definitely takes a more intricate understanding of both decks and what the best route of progression is depending on how the situation develops though
@@vazis While I do see where you are coming from your kinda missing my point here, when you soul charge there is always a chance you will lose some valuable cards thats one bit of RNG. Your starting hand is another bit of RNG, your damage checks are another though thankfully the game likes to ensure its mostly perfect triggers or worse other valuable cards, this can be minimized by holding off the damage at 3 or 4 for a few turns, actually I'd argue you have to until you can start getting triggers.
Your own drive checks are the real RNG imo, because you NEED certain cards at the right time and not taking up space in your hand early on which you need to survive his onslaught.
This aside based on my tests I have also found he only guards with 1 specific card because of its skill until he is cornered. So I'd be curious to try decks which constantly stand the vanguard again to see how it shakes out, those decks would also get you to the triggers faster.
I don't think I'm missing the point, because I understand it well and full! However, I think you might be missing mine, as I'm saying that it isn't a notable concern outside of extreme cases. As long as you have the deck built properly and pilot it properly at least. Because there are several different cards that can help you advance to the later stages of the game, thereby forcing a moderate level of consistency due to the premise of the fight
Kanji arrange triger in those right using overtrigger too. And the only one I thought who can beat it is seraph deck brand gate

This game came out last November and it is available in the U.S.! You can get it digitally either on Steam or on the Switch! (But if you get it on the Switch I'd recommend getting it through a foreign e-shop like the Brazilian e-shop and then playing it on your other accounts since it costs less that way!)

Yeah it was weird, I don't remember how or why but I do remember consciously writing Melting Heart off for the first time I built the deck to fight Kanji! I'm just glad I realized how valuable the card was for the second go around lol!
Maybe, if you are willing to go through that hell again for another video, you could also try Accuse Makarite? Assuming she's in the game, of course
@@Shuwa217 Oh yeah she's in the game!! I was thinking about trying her since it could definitely help deck Kanji out a bit faster, so it's a really good card to run for sure! But I didn't want to have too many cards that I would need to slap on board since I would definitely lose them to Favrneel. Although if I were to do this again I would probably replace Limone since it didn't feel like she did a lot in hindsight and Makarite could be a great replacement! I would need to be pretty cautious with soul though since I ran on empty in this fight lol

How about your grade 1 lineup? I run Chevelstud as a better deck filler at 3, I run 4 Riot Beeble who's a 20k shield on Purelight, 4 Surpress Gleamer which can filter herself when placed on rear from hand, maybe Shirer Zenith is a better replacement for Chevalstud for your soul issue?
Before Riot Beeble I ran Tear Croca at 4 which gave me CB issues
@@Shuwa217 I don't super plan on doing the fight again since running it back wouldn't be too different I think (unless I could beat him with 0 damage or something crazy like that!) but cuff spring would be a pretty good option!! I don't know how good the draws from Cuff/Favrneel may or may not be since it would let Kanji have more normal units in hand to make a more menacing board, but maybe it could be really good with the 20k shield G1 you mentioned!! I can definitely say that the deck could be improved after I did that fight with it, cause a few of the cards didn't end up doing too much, so there's definitely some wiggle room for upgrades!

I'm currently trying this build against him and I've gotten so close to a deck out nine cards but he keeps hitting me with for a tax when I'm on the grade 1 and I usually don't I want to use any of my cards should I just take the full four attacks? Not only that it's so hard to get the orders you need on time. Currently trying to beat him myself before I asked for helping your Discord or something. Its really up to chance otherwise it's a pretty fun stall deck
If one of the attacks are a 5k guard or just a small guard then I think it would definitely be worth it to block one of those! Otherwise, you do take a lot of damage on the turn 1 due to the OT. It was also really helpful for me to go first! I don't know if that's something that you're actively seeking out in the fight, but I do feel like it has a HUGE impact on the pace since you get to yoink some of the G1 board and you get to call some cards to board to attack RGs and also to intercept! Plus you can get Deri Violet off against the VG early which is massive too
And going off of the second list at 22:15 there are also some changes you could make with cards from the time to optimize it a bit better, like Limone didn't do too much in the fight and the G1 with purple hair next to the starter also didn't do a whole lot. So they can be swapped out with other stuff like a G1 that's 20k shield of Pure light iirc that should help out a lot if you're interested in that!
Hey thanks for the reply I definitely try to go first that's honestly the most difficult sometimes as for the grade 1 card that gives 20K defense what's the name of it I'll give it a try, what's really hard is getting the right setup cards in the beginning sometimes I don't get the order sometimes Violet doesn't show up another factors and when it comes to writing the grade 4 sometimes I don't know if I should attack because when I use her ability he doesn't have units on the field for me to attack so I can't get the cards from the triple drive so at that point should I just stall and not attack him cuz that's what happened with my closest experience he had no units to attack but I had to attack him cuz I need a defense in my hand we're doing so gave him counterblast to basically almost fill up his field and demolish me😢

Although you definitely do need to have some good cards at the start, having either Deri Violet or the Critical Effect Heal at the start both work really well! Because the critical heal can block the VG by itself as long as it doesn't have a booster! With 8 options for blocking the G2 VG it will be a little rng, but it should be pretty manageable to find one of them! As for the order, that one is one you kinda just gotta find. But as long as you don't soul charge or damage too many, all of the drive checks being non trigger units should help you find them at an okay rate! Chevalstud is also super clutch for that, Cheval is one of the ideal cards to find early if you can. Getting both Cheval and Agra Rouge is really nice because then you can set yourself up pretty well with some drawing and Rouge's shield going first!
As for attacking with Purelight, my decision making process revolves around a few things. If you ride Purelight and Kanji doesn't have a lot of soul for restanding or a lot of hand, then I'd say it's good to attack the VG! Because since Kanji only drive checks triggers, you can use that to your advantage and go for some damage while he doesn't have access to a lot of units! And then once he can restand, you can send in the order to help out! It's best if Kanji doesn't have more than 2 CB available at a time because then the CB can't all go to making soul, calling board and restanding! So attacking as little as possible other than to RGs is super clutch. But, it's more than good to give Kanji the CB if you have the order in hand and a good amount in the Prison, because then the restand is just a waste of the CB!
The only other thing I can think to mention is that you pretty much want to have 0 cards for Kanji to retire throughout the game if you can outside of one or two Chevalstud, because then the triggers in hand can turn into units on board. Plus giving 'em the extra damage isn't super beneficial anyways, so keeping stuff in hand is good! You probably already do that, but it's the only other piece of advice I'd have to give lol. Letting 'em do the retire to draw is really nice, but lasting to the really late turns helps a lot more imo

Are there any updated recommended builds for the Aurora battles sisters that you would recommend that can make this just a little bit easier? Or any other decks for that matter.

I would like to make an update that as of May 10th 2024 at approximately 2:49 p.m. I after what more than likely was over 150+ battles not even counting the resets from rock-paper-scissors loss have finally defeated Kanji Meguro!!

Been trying your strat for like the hundred times and I still can win 😢 mine keeps on calling card out of prison all the times which makes the blitz order useless
There are some other cards you can run to help out if you want! For one, there's a G1 that is 20k shield while you're on the G4 which can help a ton! And you can switch Limone out for something more useful if that'd be helpful too. Other than that, going first was really huge for me since I was able to grab the starter and slow down how much Kanji could grab out of the prison, keeping to that and swinging to rear guards helped make it so they didn't have a lot of options to call stuff out, but you've probably already been doing that last part lol
Whats so cool about this fight during my first playthrough I actually defeated him by deck out. All three times the first eazy fight the very end of story fight and funny enough this cheating fight. Flagburg forces him to guard with many guards despite not needing to. And if he uses 3pgs he will drop 3 cards for each of their guard effects. Then again i have yet to try this again in the new updated game.
Yo I'm glad you were able to do that!! Flagburg was one of the ones I was considering if I needed to try to outpace Kanji, but it seemed pretty unlikely to do with how likely it seemed he would be to miracle heal, and I wasn't super confident that it would draw enough. Eva also seemed pretty good for it, but I never tried it out fully. But glad you got to do it with Flagburg!!

Do you get Kanji's deck recipe by doing this? I got everybody else's deck recipes in the game, the only one I have no idea of how to get is Kanji's (I have made a good Favrneel deck myself, but I want the in-game deck recipe for the sake of collection purpose). I was thinking that maybe Kanji's could be gotten by beating this fight, or perhaps by defeating all the CPU opponents in the CPU fights mode.
I didn't get anything special from this fight as far as I am aware. I haven't checked my deck recipes at all so I don't know if it's even possible to get Kanji's deck, but once I am at my Switch I can let you know if I have it!

But to make sure whether I got it from that fight or not, I checked the highlight on my Twitch of me beating it and I didn't see it pop up, so I don't think I got it from beating that fight. I don't think I've fought all of the characters in the character fight either, so I don't really know where it might have come from, my only guess might be if you skip through the story mode for Yuki again or doing ranked fights? I'm not super sure

Man, I went into this fight with Hexorb. I didn't even know that the fight was rigged the whole time! I checked the top card over and over with no trigger and just thought it was really bad luck!

Yeah it can be really rough lol. I didn't even know about it until I was watching someone else play that section and someone mentioned Outerorange tried to stack the deck with Hexa but it didn't work! I never even thought that the fight would mess with known cards like that!

Question? Couldn't you have won a bit sooner by calling one of the RG when you started to hit triggers?. Force the retire, let him Soul build and thus be at less cards, unless the AI stops placing into Soul once he hits the 13 Dark States check
I think it definitely would have done the draw since the AI of the game doesn't seem to consider the number of cards in deck when doing things! But with the hand size that Kanji had, I don't know if he would have let the rear guard hit or not, which would have been vital if that was the route I had gone. Since if I had called and then been guarded, even if Kanji drew from Favrneel's skill, he would have still had 1 card left in deck so I would have needed to have the capacity to guard all of his attacks. And since the only card I could have called from hand the turn before was the critical trigger, I wouldn't have had enough shield to block everything, so I thought it better to be in the middle of the road risk wise, win if the VG hit and win if I got enough shield to live!

So if someone were to buy the game from the Brazilian e-shop and download it onto their Switch, all of the other accounts (regardless of their language) can all play it in their native language!
