Great video. Currently, I'm interested in the underbody of cars as these aspects of automotive engineering apply to all cars, except those that fly, perhaps. Hopefully, America's roadways will improve and allow cars to be designed for better road comfort with the least expense. There are many types of drivetrains out there, today. Everything is connect and I don't plan to neglect any part of a vehicle as each component affects and is affected by many other components. I look to see more modular design and replacement in the future. For example, replacing discharged electric car batteries with charged batteries in a manner similar to what we do with battery-powered tools, etc. Why we haven't gone to a more modular design today, I have no idea. It would be as simple as an automatic car-wash to put our cars back in order. Anyway, you presented a variety of automotive career fields and companies in your video. I got a better understanding of the many aspects of mechanical, electrical, and automotive engineering and plan to research these areas. I look forward to seeing (hearing) you in future videos. Thanks, Jeff

Does having an Automotive Technician Certification help with having a BS in Mechanical Engineering? I'm considering getting the certification after I finish my BS next year.
As a guy who took the ase course I would say hell no. This is why mechanics get a bad rap, they got to a technician program and think they will come out knowing how to take a car apart and put it back together. They are sadly mistaken. Just go the engineer route like mechanical, electrical...even self study will be good like machinery 30th edition

If i want to become a car designer, regarding just the appearance of the vehicle ( although i know i 'd have to take aerodynamics and safety measures into consideration ), should i study industrial design ( which will lead up to a master on automotive design ) or automotive engineering? I need to know , next year i am planning on going to college!
I REALLY HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE Going into automotive engineeing just for the appearance of the cars is craziness. I had this same issue, I wish I could be a car designer, So Industrial design was my main goal, but then, I realized that I was also really interested in understanding how cars work, besides their appearance, So for this reason I dediced to go into Mechanical engineeing (Unfortunalery there's no Automotive engineeing course avaible to me). So, answering your question: If your interest is the appearance, study industrial Design and later seach for a specific course for design of cars, because you won't have it at your normal graduation, industrial design is a general course
As a senior in high school this video is great what majors do you recommend me taking in college for that I can transfer to a university to be a mechanical engineer
I am planning on going into a trade, either automotive technician or collision repair, but my parents keep saying the traditional 4-year route. I just think about the different workplaces and think I trade would fit my desires better. But I feel like I would be a failure and what if new advancements in technology affect trade job opportunity in the automotive world. Money is not a major factor, fulfillment is key but I also want to make sure there are jobs too.
I think you gotta go with your heart on that one. Automotive repairs are only getting more difficult, so I really think a robot will not be taking it over any time soon. Work hard and focus on whatever you choose, but going to college if you're not fully committed to it could be a big time of waste and money. Working a trade is super respectable and necessary for our society.
Hi, I study automotive engineering in Germany in a university of applied sciences, and prior to that I was studying mechanical engineering in technical university. My concerns before I switched majors was that mechanical engineering subjects were too broad and somewhat hard, adding to that it was hard for a student to get help may there have been a need to it. After switching to automotive however, I feel that I might be limited with my choices (ie just car related things). I was very motivated to start with automotive engineering due to my passion for cars, but I realized my passion towards cars doesn’t match what’s demanded in the industry. My question is: can I as an automotive engineer also apply to broader themed engineering jobs (say energy/renewable/turbines/and other jobs working with mechanical contraptions) ? Would love your input
Could you please explain how your passion towards cars doesn't match industry demands? What are the available career options now for you as an automotive engineer? Thanks and good luck!

I REALLY HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE
Going into automotive engineeing just for the appearance of the cars is craziness.
Nice video🎉
I watched this in highschool so I can be prepared as soon as I get to college. Btw this is obviously the job I'm going to get in the future.
How did that workout for you
Hey, what does an automotive engineer do when electric cars are more popular? Do they only work on the car design and braking system?
I’ve been saying
I guess you’ll be working on the chassis, the suspension, the steering, stuff like that
Then you can also work in other vehicle industries like Trucks, Busses, Tractors or excavator
Thirteen and want to be a macanic found this helped
0:34 I wonder if Elon just didn't listen to any engineers when designing the cybertruck or what
He just tell people what to do
Keep it up good knowledge...
Great video :)
Thank you!
Hi,
I study automotive engineering in Germany in a university of applied sciences, and prior to that I was studying mechanical engineering in technical university.
Hi Muhammad , good to read and see your passion. What is name of University you study brother and majors subjects are also relating to the automotive.
Are you GMI Student?

Does automotive engineering have a lot of mathematics?computation?
I don't know but in my country it's very important.
Yes it does, I am a automobile engineer.
In my school, we have Electric Vehicle Engineering (currently studying it).
I grew up loving physics and astronomy, after that I got to do my diploma in mechanical engineering. Fast forward 3 years later, today I got offer for automotive engineering for my bachelor degree programme lmaoo rip my life journey 😢
How do you like your job 6 months later?
Thank you so much
Formula sae is a for sure thing I’m joining. As I want the knowledge In order to go out and go pro plus co design stuff like rtr which was founded by Fd driver Vahun Gitten (I butchered his name)
It's absolutely worth it. You'll learn so much in terms of design and manufacturing. Not only that but you'll also develop soft skills as you work in a team, meet people from the industry and so much more :)

I’d love to become an automotive engineer, the only thing is I’m not sure if I should go to a 2 year community college first for mechanical engineering or a tech school. I would like to learn the basics in and out of a vehicle. Just not sure what route to take?
Do u know what the difference of taking any of those 2 ?
Have you the Company name which manufactures the windshield wipers ? Like you mentioned the windshield brand in the video...

I'm not so familiar about car designing. Can I still be an automotive engineer?
The future is figuring out battery efficiencies.
I am student of automotive engineering technology. You made video on automotive engineering topic. Now make a new video on automotive technology.
I really wanted to know how car mirrors work ? How they estimated the engle that the person should look and how they're designed

@@madlad1. Can you send me more information about this ?
@@neonlights3814 no I have 2 finals today 😬
@@madlad1. 😅 It's ok, just send me when you're free. Good luck
thanks ❤❤

GREAT videos about the all subject bro. I study too ME and I want too to get a job in a team of the design of cars on auto industry like Honda or whatever but now in college we have 3 directions:
1: energy industrial processes and environmental technology
2:materials engineering and machining
3:production organization and industrial administration
What u suggest??
I will be grateful to answer 🙏

Thanks Man
I'm 15 yest , thinking about what should i do lol im scared asf for real. Im a big sneaker and streetwear kid thats why ive always drramt to be a fashion designer but then i don't think it's enough for me to live the life that i want. Maybe automotive engineer is my thing cause i love car so much. Any suggestion
I also have this problem lol
Thanks to engineers, you don't die!
What is the type of engineering where you can fix and scan cars and trucks
I am expected to graduate with mechanical engineering technology (Automotive) in August 2021 but still clueless about my career path.
Hello can you recommend me a book on electric cars
I am also in 10th but I really make future in automobile engineering
Lets say I want to become an engineer in a racing team, then what do I do
Is it better to do Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering if you want to work for OEM ?
You can go for both. Take ME and focus on AE or graduate in AE directly
