I think part of her character is that she is simply "just another random forsaken"... maybe some new armor, yeah, but I'd prefer her to stay that "random chick from underneath the corner",
@@bindair_dundat Haha, how is that true? It belongs to the people of Lordaeron. Menethil bloodline. Or did u just decide right here that it has belonged to the Forsaken always and forever?
I'd love to see Mankrik die during the expansion, and see him reunited with his wife somewhere in SL. Would feel like a nice conclusion to my 16 years of interest in the love life of a bunch of green pixels I care about far too much 😂
Anduin's really something. Mass Lay On Hands in the BFA intro and now he almost went Shadow Pally. Even Khadgar had to consistently give us a disclaimer that he may or may not know exactly what he's doing before he tries some crazy shit.
Unfortunately, he's not a Pally. Yes, he wears plate armor, yes he has his father's greatsword, however if you ever fight him in game since he's the Human leader, he uses Disc Priest spells, specifically a multi-target Penance, constantly. The boy's just transmogging. :P Though the thought of multiclassing is nice.
@Thiago Silva Think he means the giant laser bull crap blizzard pulled that one shot N'zoth...we didn't need to shoot him twice or three times just once... and now suddenly all his imprisoned brethren are gone too which makes zero sense. The void isn't that easy to destroy...I got a feeling it'll return stronger than ever we just got to deal with the realm of death first
Well, I mean, truthfully, we don't know what happened to N'zoth for sure. We lazered him, which should have killed him yes, but remember, to lazer him, we had to attack his carapace. This involved Wrathion stabbing N'zoth with a weapon (the blade of the black empire) that Azshara wanted to use to imprison N'zoth within. So maybe what remains of N'zoth is trapped within the blade and could become an active entity, like Xal'atath was? It must also be noted that this isn't exactly the end of the void either. We don't know the exact fate of the other old gods, like C'thun or Yog'saron. Although, I do agree that N'zoth's defeat/death felt really cheap
I would assume Stormwind arrested Talanji as she was travelling with a war criminal named Zul who attempted global troll dominance twice if Sylvanas wasn't the warchief the horde would've likely executed them both on sight nevermind imprisonment.
Yep so easy to just easy "SEE! Allianc evil! Just jails Talanji for no reason!". Makes me wonder how Zul kept it all hidden, twice... His followers must have dropped hints throughout the years at least! At this point the Alliance just thought the Zandalari were now in favor of Zul if he was traveling with the princess of them.
@@Finish303 I mean, every encounter with the Zandalari we've had after the original Zul'Gurub has been "hey we're gonna go fuck everything up" so I don't think it's that odd to assume the worst, especially when Zul is there. The fact they were imprisoned and not immediately executed points to them likely having been detained for questioning, but the Horde got there before that could happen. I do agree that it needed a better explanation SOMEWHERE though, it feels like the writing team had something in mind but then forgot to actually put it anywhere. They may have actually thought it'd be part of Before the Storm, then WHOOPSIE.
The Anduin and Arthas connections are very interesting to see, considering part of his theme in BFA had Arthas’ theme in it. Hope this continues to unravel, seeing the boy king starting to use his shadow and void side a little intrigues me
not only that, Blizzard used Arthas skeleton and the same animations for Anduin when he walked up to Surfang on the tower its the exact same movement. There is so much more to that ... its basically an open secret at this point.
Dynasty Kings True making him the opposite is the obvious plot twist, build it up that they are one in the same but Anduin’ score beliefs are different than Arthas and that’s the key difference that changes everything Any alliance infighting or incriminating actions is good imo for the story, it’s getting tired that the horde are always the bad guys doing evil things for evil sake... breaks the whole point of both sides are equal if alliance are always the good guys
VladTutushkin Yea I see that, I’m hoping it ends that both extremes are bad. As in being purely light is evil as is being purely shadow, “any extreme is bad” is the message I’m hoping will be the end point so seeing the shadow start to develop in the solely light user, the symbol of pure good, I find interesting to see what happens
I want to see Jaina invite Anduin to talk, he refuses and then she teleports them to a hill overlooking Stratholme. Anduin begins to bicker Jaina incase him in ice and tell him about one of her greatest failures that happened here. That she leaves her beloved in time when he needed her and remained silent when she needed to shout. So I want to see something like Jaina and Katherine Cinematic from Battle for Azeroth.
It'll have to be after Shadowlands though since they've said nobody's leaving the Shadowlands canonically until the Arbiter is fixed and the Jailer is dealt with. Both Anduin and Jaina are inside the Shadowlands too, so I have another idea: Arthas is said to be in the Maw. Let Anduin, with Jaina, confront what he might become.
@@KazumiKiguma How about little personal hell. Something like this: Sylvanas created for Jaina pocket dimension or illusion where purge of Stratholme is constantly repeated, but Jaina escaped before Sylvanas can put her there. Jaina learns about this and observing that Anduin is becoming more and more like Arthas, willingly go there with him. After that, repeat of my original comment.
Sounds great! Amazing even but why can't they bring this story telling in WoW? I know they have to sell books but after playing BFA so many plots seems to go nowhere. Again, glad to know the books answer a lot of questions but maybe they shouldn't be the only place for answers. Books = Detailed answers. Game = Basic answers. No?
The way this story is written and what i've seen from the alpha, it adds depth but doesn't explain as in...the game will let you know what's up. Meaning that it's not a must read to understand wtf is going on like say draenor for example, but it adds a lot for those interested in the story.
@Providence Gonna have to stop you right there. FFXIV has a bunch of storytelling that happens outside the game in the stories they post on the website, they're generally stuff from the past but they're very good at getting you to understand characters more than the game does. Not to mention a TON of information comes from the lore books, take for example the entire backstory for Nael van Darnus and why she was actually a woman when we fought her in Turn 9, that's NEVER explained in game, just speculated on and the speculation was WRONG. The stories in these books are things that our characters have no reason to be there for, take Zekan being in Zandalar for example, they sent JUST Zekan for a reason, if you went too then it'd be much more of a sign of being untrustworthy. While XIV does do better storytelling in game, it's not a good argument for the question "why can't these stories be in game?"
I was so happy that the pandarens were finally remembered. They had one placed as a leader in each faction, and then they were just ignored since MoP, like not even a voiceline or a quick mention in game. The only thing theyve really done with them since mop is move around Ji's and Aysa's models
Now? The guy used shadow magic like Mind Control back in Pandaria, he's always been a Disc Priest. Even now with his plate armor and greatsword, if you go fight him as Horde in Stormwind, he spams Penance (I believe a multitarget version of it too) and does pretty damn well keeping himself healed.
@@KazumiKiguma Eh...we as players are limited to a class and spec as a gameplay mechanic , lore characters arent really limited by gameplay mechanics so they can easily exhibit all specs of a class. So Anduin is a Priest but specs are irrelevant to him.
Yup, the whole "I will set us free" was just her being an unreliable narrator in order to justify her own actions. No one is the villain of their own narrative, they at most do the "harsh but necessary things," I would like Sylvanas as a character because it would be interesting to have someone that malignantly narcissistic as a PoV, alas Blizzard has ruined it all by going "she's very smart," when at most she's r/imverysmart. She would be a lot more interesting as a character if it Blizzard was, "yeah, she's incompetent and most of her "clever" plans fails as shown in the game, something is protecting her and have done so ever since Edge of Night." It would be so satisfying if when she called the Jailer for help in the final fight against her he just goes, "Nah, I've helped you enough. You would never have become Warchief without my help and assisted you failed spectacularly, your plans are silly and incompetent and you're only half as smart as you think you are. Take solace in that your soul will make me stronger."
I still hope that Sylvanas motivation will become a bit more complex then "I will have all the power" and "I will liberate you from life". Kind of like what they did with Illidan. But it seems this hope is not justified. This really sucks. WoW has such an interesting lore and it seems the writters are never quite able to get it right.
@Nichita Pavlenco i mean, she was an opportunistic power grabber and nihilistic sociopath since inception into WoW as an undead. Also a huge egomaniac.
VladTutushkin Did you ever play the Forsaken quests involving Sylvanas before BfA at all? Have you not read Dark Mirror or Edge of Night? Sylvanas was previously written as a ruthless pragmatist and an anti-hero.
@Bleeding Eye Watcher her “antihero” stuff only works if you are willing to ignore the context and circumstance. Same as politicians who say one thing, pretend to do another and actually do entirely different thing.
Chances are Sylvanas will end up being the new Jailer for some reason or another, and that all the things she did end up being "pardoned" or whatever, Blizzard doesnt seem to be able to throw shade to their Main characters (unless they are night elves) or paint then in any "real" negative way (real as in, decisively evil or self absorbed) unless they are cosmic level evil, like the Void Lords, the Old Gods and Sargeras with his minions. At the very least i hope that Arthas gets pardoned if they plan to justify and/or give a good send off to sylvanas, as in the end both are victims of Frostmourne (Arthas even moreso, given that he even used the Helm of Domination) and could be given the excuse of "their souls where shattered, they wherent their real selves" like Uther
"She had been the plaything of a self-righteous cosmos long enough" Oh my, Sylvanas, so self-centered! Very bold of you to assume that the cosmos is even aware of what you went through. Very bold of you to assume that the universe even acknowledged your existence.
@Xan Xa Arthas fucked her up and then now she sucked up to Jailer who needed a proxy on Azeroth to farm him some souls. Its still like... a speck at best on Cosmic scale. I dare say Illidan had more prominence on Cosmos then she ever had.
@@romilgrapp Of course I know the lore. This is more of a taste of nihilism than a lore comment. No matter how much an individual suffers, it'll always be unnoticeable and insignificant in a cosmic scale. Even beings such as the Titans are rendered minuscule in the face of infinity.
Nathanos is a self insert of one of the writers and hes paraded it around a ton, the writer loves sylvanas to death so I expect their little relationship to continue fully
that is a hoax, it comes from a few tweets he made roleplaying as nathanos, but he constantly roleplays multiple character from the game in tweets. nathanos isn't a self insert, there is a much reason to believe he as as believing garrosh is
@@zennim125 I think a lot of it, from his redesign looking a lot like Steve (writer), and acknowledging it "Its like looking into a mirror" to it following the exact tropes of the description of self insert, I get there where those dumb tweets him RPing as nathanos, but that cant discredit everything else Yet, that is just my perspective on it, Not trying to hate on anyone who doesnt see it that way
@@227gamerman Agree. Nathanos seems to just be so important for it not to be true. He just wont go away. Such a stupid character too. Straight up bootlicker that has as much plot armor as her. Its ridiculous.
Its just as well the Talanji VO reads the audiobook since most of the plot revolves around that character with Zappy Boy as her Horde ambassador. Sylvanas has sent Nathanos to destroy Bwonsamdi as an obstacle to her plans. Nathanos enlists the locals to weaken the loa by destroying his shrines. Roux is disappointing as far as the Alliance story line. She has two teams hunting for Sylvanas. Mathias Shaw sails with Flynn Fairwind and the pair begins a bromance. Alleria and Turalyon interrogate people for leads. Jaina snitches on their harsh tactics to Anduin and scolds him on social justice. She's doesn't want him seeking revenge for Teldrassil as she did for Theramore. But since Sylvanas has only just begun to drop her bombs, Anduin repeats that he trusts the couple's discretion and he will do what must be done. Anduin carries the weight of responsibility while Jaina can indulge the luxury of her reclaimed scruples. Beyond that, Roux disguises Anduin for a visit to Goldshire Inn so the can have a moment of pretending he is not the king. I disagree with Roux. Anduin has outgrown the frightened little boy. He had the stones to stand toe to toe with Saurfang in that prison cell and the wisdom to set him free.
Thralls never been more of a has been. " TO HELL WITH YOUR APOLOGIES!!!" I'm glad you like it nobbel but i don't want to do homework to play shadowlands.
Nobble, you should have been contracted to perform the audiobook version mate. I'm a few hours into it and I'm not saying the narrator is bad, but I have found myself struggling to keep interested listening. A lot of this is something wrong with my ability to maintain focus which has plagued me my entire life and made normal reading of novels literally impossible. Audiobooks, when of a subject matter I am passionate about combined with an exciting and captivating narrator, have been a godsend for me. You have the voice, the passion for the content matter, and a fan base that'd love to hear you narrating a warcraft novel.
imagine being a vanilla troll player, played every expac with 100% completion and than in 2/3 years time Zekhan will be the new troll leader/warchief, must feel pretty good to get beaten by nub soldier as this legendary commander.
This is interesting. I can totally see Alleria and Turalyon use some morally questionable methods to hunt down Sylvanas. I'm considering joining the Venthyr for the same reason. My goal in Shadowlands is to bring Sylvanas to justice. As a Horde paladin, I still carry the burden of the part I played in her war against life. This is not about pride or vengeance, this is my way of making things right. The Venthyr are all about justice and redemption. I'm going to need their power and knowledge for this journey.
Literally the best reason I've ever read to join a covenant. Not for the ability, not for the aesthetic, but because it's the most fitting for your character. Awesome.
I dont like to see Anduin struggling. Not because I feel bad for him, but because he shouldn't be high king of the Alliance in the first place. He inherired Stormwind not the entire faction. Tyrande or Velen should be in charge and if they needed human for the posters, there is Genn or Jaina.
velen led the war effort to defeat the legion, if there is someone that is the perfect candidate to lead the alliance is him, since tyrande is dealing with the dark side of elune and stuff
with this whole "there must always be a lich king" to keep the scourge in check thing, i guess the latter is now running rampant across azeroth? i wonder how we will deal with this new old problem.
Zappy Boi is best boi, also I’m glad that Flynn and Shaw are getting together, those two were made for each other. I’m still left with one question about Shadowlands though, will Taelia get a chance to see her father? It was stated that Bolvar would play a major role in the expansion.
Just finished the book. The Anduin scene at gold shire gives me hope that he won’t end up like Arthas. Jaina did point out that anduin is still young. I wonder if arthas was younger than anduin (in that gold shire scene) when he betrayed Uther. Anduin comes off as more innocent. But maybe that makes for a bigger villain?? Lol glad you brought up the comparison.
from what i understated from the last chp in the book she is sick of being jerked around by the universe, if you think about it most of Azoroth problems is from out side powers, and even in death you get to be judged by some out worldly being without your saying in all of it not in life nor death
Hm, Honor? The mass murder of the draenei was very honorable. Slaughtering people in Stormwind, very honorable. And Theramore was also destroyed on the orders of an honorable orc.
@@kyvanrae I wasn't born till way after the dark portal I also wasn't born during the stormwind invasion I was a young adult when Garrosh took out that small city right at our door step and also he did nothing wrong This is a story on how old my orc is btw not about real me
i really don't like what they did with some of the characters in BFA. Sylavnas is the big what but Lilian too. When she was introduced she was vehemently against the raising of undead. She did not want others to suffer like she did but in the war campaign she's like fuck it why not something to do let's go kill some alliance and raise them to serve us.
They've essentially tied up the legion arc, Shadowlands looks to tie up the lich king arc imo. Just the old gods and ultimately the Void Lords left to really deal with to complete the legend.
The book was amazing to listen to, and while I love Talanji's VO, I don't think she was the best choice for doing the voice over work for the book. Unless of course it was the troll bits. Then well, obviously those bits played out fantastic, all things consider. But even that aside, it was a fantastic ride, listening to it.
She made Thrall sound really old. Her male voices could have been better, but overall I did like the audio book myself. I like Talanji's character and hearing her voice in the book brought the book to like.
I keep wondering where Gallywix is in all of this. I just finished Shadows Rising myself and they just glaze over the fact that Gazlowe is running the Bilgewater Cartel now. I feel like Gallywix is a bigger part of the story than they're letting on. What exactly did he find before Kezan blew up? Notice that he was the one who told Sylvanus about Azerite? During the lead up quests for Mechagon (I believe), he says something that never sat right with me. He made mention of how all this happened because he brought it to Sylvanus' attention. Now, it seems like he just disappeared and I just want to know more about him.
Think Gallywix has gone in hiding after his team up with sylvanas didn't work out. He was burning papers just before the second siege/saurfang,sylv mak'gora
Why must you do this to me? I’m now hooked on the Lore again after I gave up on it Mid BFA and I’m downloading the book now. Thanks, Nobbel. In all seriousness, love your videos and what you do. 😊
The only reason why I care about WoW, is the lore. The gameplay does little for me. But even the lore is tainted by a lot of things. I can't stand the 50-50 booking to where both factions are weak. One is never stronger than the other to overtake the other. And people would say, "well, duh, the reason for that is they want both to be equal and not have one faction overtake the other." Imagine watching a film or tv show or playing a video game for 15 years and the villain is neither killed nor the hero overcomes his enemy and struggles. That would get old after 3 years. Imagine this being 15.
Lore is a big thing of what has me always coming back as I’ve been a Warcraft fan pretty much my entire life, but BFA has really put a damper on that for me. Fans had been clamoring for Azshara and N’Zoth for years and we got the laziest way to finally introduce both of them and do away with both of them. Really hurt my hope for Blizzard to do justice to their lore.
Hi, just a question to anyone who could answer : Shaw and Flynn go on adventures together, and Shaw wants to get to know Flynn better, but in BFA did they do anything together ? I'm happy to see this new duo, I just don't remember them doing missions or anything together in BFA.
I just remember them breaking into the vault together as well. I also remember the quest line with Flynn that takes us into more of the pirate areas where MANY of the NPC's discuss Flynn's attraction for that dark haired beauty, has anything come of that & Flynn tries to dismiss it. The story made it seem as if he was totally in to Talia - which I thought would have been a great match! She's too 'flakey' or 'goodie goodie' to ship w/Anduin since he's already the alliance 'goodie goodie' tho maybe not for long. I did think that Shaw & Flynn made a great pairing in a 'buddy cop' sort of way - great humor & fun with those 2.
Damn, I'm so tired of Undead in this lore. They lack all self awareness of their situation. "Huh, I died, and now I'm a shambling corpse. This doesn't seem right. IM GOING TO GO VISIT MY OLD FAMILIES AND FRIENDS SURELY THEY WILL ACCEPT MY UNDEAD GROSS ASS WITH OPEN ARMS. Oh nevermind, they don't like me anymore because I'm an abomination of nature. I hate them and am going to kill all the people I ever loved because reasons." It's so fucking dumb especially when the fucking night elves show up to the Forsaken and just say "Yea, were gonna join you now because our millennial old ties to nature tell us to kill our people because reasons."
im excited to see anduin start to get all shadowy and angry, it adds so much to his character! that said i am nervous that he's gonna be Arthas 2: Electric Boogaloo. i hope blizz can find restraint with that.
I am glad that the book confirmed my theory about the Shaw and Flynn. A tear fell when Flynn hugged Shaw, missing him. Do you think Thrall will keep his word and give Tyrande Sylvanas's head for forgiveness? You know had, Tyrone chosen Illidan, a lot of events would not have take place.
I am just fascinated as the horrific vision of stormwind becomes true:All that remains is for the leader of the void elves to let the corruption inside of her take her,the voice of the whispers may become her own And the prophecy of Ilgi comes true:The golden one will claim a vacant throne
Can someone explain to me why it's okay for there to be straight relationships it's fine. But as soon as there's any hint at a gay relationship it's forcing an agenda? Not just with Shaw but the night warrior to?
@Raymond coutanche i think its 50/50 situation with people either just being not fine with gays and another is that Shaw had no real romantic buildup with Flynn and they seemed more like a buddy cop comedy then anything.
Because its done out of the blue, with no build up ... no hint of either being gay beforehand. So on the face of it, yes- it does seem like pandering to be "inclusive".
Second thought as to why the Night Elf Undead would agree to return, or see it as no choice at all. If they found themselves in the Maw along with their fallen brothers and sisters, tortured and imprisoned, perhaps an existence of undeath in the service of Sylvannas is a preferable fate to that hell.
@Jay Wingate but there is no way to bind them to her. Them coming back is understandable but them serving her or the Horde? Bullcrap. They should have just deserted Horde as soon as they gathered together and go to neutral factions.
Could someone tell me when and how Vereesa and Azshara are mentioned in the story? I can’t find that anywhere but I heard they were mentioned at some point (not in a major way)
Azshara is mentioned for Jaina/ally standing with them against this threat & still missing after Ny'alotha in relation to perhaps alleria knows where the dangerous queen had gone. The mistrust of the void. Vereesa in relation to her sisters.
So hold on even tho bwonsamdi is a trickster and seems shady he isnt actually bad. Bc he wants to safe the people from the maw and wants them to go to the right place where they belong in the shadowlands or am i mistaken?
I TigerFreak I yes, you got it right. He is a tricky bastard but he is not evil. Even those who he REALLY fucked up usually bring it on themselve with really bad bargains - like woman selling her child to him for immortality and power and he made her immortal but locked her in a tomb forever. And so on. He also wants to maintain his own “corner” of Shadowlands - De Other Side and Jailer wants it demolished and troll souls succed into the Maw.
Soft spoilers below: I absolutely loved Shadows Rising. Easily my second favorite Warcraft book. My favorite part was Bwonsamdi, not just because of his sharp dialogues and presence, but how the writer has fixed the weird perception of him being somehow “evil”. In Shadows Rising you briefly see Bwonsamdi we’ve encountered before, prior to BfA. Serious, grim, wise and powerful god. I also liked Talanji. There has been so much complaining about her character being “too perfect” in BfA. Someone who never makes mistakes and always strives for best. Well, she’s anything but, in this book. Talanji received some spice and a serious extra dose of Zandalari pride that just made her unbelievably better than before (liked her prior to this as well though). Anduin is a character I absolutely despise. In my opinion, he often shatters the story in pieces through his devotion to peace. Yes, there were other leaders who did and do so as well, but he is THE leader of the Alliance. And in this book... I liked him. I thought it to be impossible, but she made Anduin into a more realistic, simple character while not really compromising his previous actions. He allows his subjects to do unthinkable things in pursuit of justice, he looses control over his emotions, he is burdened by leadership in a real and hard way. So, as much as I’m not a fan of this “little pink baby”, this book made me able to tolerate him much better. Jaina’s reaction to realization that Talanji didn’t just forget her father’s murder was amusing. I’m glad that this plot-line carries on. I was afraid that, in a typical Blizzard fashion, Talanji would be forced to “forgive and forget”, but that didn’t happen. She clings to her hate and wishes for vengeance, just like a true troll should. Hmmm... What else is there to point at... Ji Firepaw. The whole Ji segment I was the most excited nerd ever. It was amazing to see him actually do something!
Ky van Rae 1) I’m not Russian 2) It’s a very poor way to communicate, but not uncommon in Alliance circles, so congratulations on reaffirming this point of view.
Out of context: No wonder Sylvanas aint's so popular no more. Not just the stuff she've recently done, but she also don't put out as much as she used to. You gain a power up and suddenly you need armor ?! (you can say she has her plan B(s) now I guess lol :D :D)
Can't really bring myself to get this book. I'm really sick of what they've done with Sylvanas, Tyrande and other characters' personalities, basically replacing them with new, different and much less interesting/compelling characters whose histories make no sense, for the sake of convenience, and everything I've heard about this story from people is that they've just kept on doing it. Also, woo, how many characters have been added to the 'corrupted by vengeance' tally now? No Alliance character does anything bad for any other reason these days, and now the Horde's getting their turn. It's like Blizzard don't know how to write any other story, and they can't even do this one competently. I can't get into stories that have been built on so many hand-waves and retcons and tortured narratives. All of these events were so blatantly forced to begin with, reading anything following on from them just makes me feel bitterness and bile.
I bought the audiobook but just can't get through it. No offense to Talanjii's voice actress but I don't really like her interpretation of most of the characters. This has made me realize that ingame narration and book narration are two quite different things.
You can return it in Audible and get the text version. I have trouble understanding accents, so I just read the thing. If you want to hear a great narrator, “Before The Storm” is read by Josh Keaton (Anduin), that’s the previous novel. Keaton does a fantastic job. You can use your audible credit once you return the book, no extra charge.
Yeah, that came out of left field... maybe J K Rowling is starting to write for Blizz? I mean if they said Wrathion and Anduin got together THAT would have been more believable.... though not gonna lie.. the moment we found Taelia was a Fordragon, I Immediately shipped Anduin and her) I wouldn't have mind it but Shaw never hinted anything, and I felt like Flynn somehow made references to women he has loved when you quest with him... ....though then again they both stand/lean on something that same way.... Anyway. In all I am interested to see if this would really be pursued especially with Blizz cow-towing to China and if we learned anything from the controversy (well one of them) in Rise of Skywalker over two women kissing... blizz may kibosh it.
Turalyon's becoming more like AU Draenor's Lightforged, ironically thanks to Alleria's voidy methods. I'm not so sure we'll get the Light vs Void that people were thinking, I think we might end up fighting BOTH.
So wait I didnt get it sorry but then Anduin is going to the shadowlands to chase Sylvanas and leaves Turalyon as the leader of the Alliance? Or is the other way around? Anduin sends Turalyon to hunt down Sylvanas in the Shadowlands? Again Thank you so much for making this videos.
It really bothers me that Anduin is known as boy king. Idk it seems super disrespectful. (I dont mean nobel calling him that btw) I just mean in general
I'm so glad Talanji was featured in this book. I was very interested in her thoughts regarding the peace treaty given the actions during the war. I figured it would be a dropped plot thread.
@Xtrm its weird how she is all mad about her father’s death when she intentionally pushed for Horde to get involved in Zandalari affairs during a world war and then stage attacks on Kul’Tiras from their harbor. She didnt figured out that Alliance might attack because of that?
Anduin changed spec from Holy to Shadow, nice nice! Also, my little heart is so so sooo happy that my favourite ship has sailed! Mathias and Flynn is OTP
Shaw and Flynn is J K Rowling level of random. Anduin and Wrathion would have been more believable. Though I REALLY ship Taelia and Anduin now.... #Tanduin #Andaelia!
@Hubert Sean because he is a Lead Wriers self insert. I bet Danuser was about to tear apart the script when he saw his “Alter Ego” being rejected but couldnt affect Roux like he can overrule game-writers since she is a book writer and not under his direct command. And btw he sure fucken did ruled over other writers since script was re-written a LOT especially around 8.1 where originally Nathanos was going to die but then he turned that into “merely using 10% of his power to escape both Malf and Tyrande”. Imagine being that petty, simping freakozoid while earning helluva lot in a huge game company?
I honestly want the Matthias Shaw x Flyn Fairwind ship get some real development. Even if romance isn't the focus of the lore, we have such a diversity of different races yet only one sexuality? Soundss ridiculous, if you aask me! I also want to see more development for Genn Greymane, as his character has felt somewhat static since the end of legion. How does he view Tyrande's night warrior persona? Does he see that as the correct path, or does it make him reflect on his own desire for vengence? We know he's always had a bone to pick with the Horde, yet has always restrained himself around Anduin. Perhaps he and Jaina can be the ones to prevent Anduin from going down the same path as Arthas?
I just dont see why we should "restrain", "prevent" or "avoid" anything at this point. Each time Horde goes to war its genocide, slaughter, "pseudo-nuclear" warfare and "Final Solution" through annihilation. Why should Alliance after so many such wars keep holding themself back?
@@MrVlad12340 Because it's not that simple. It took some time, but the Horde leaders did collectively reject Sylvanas. What exactly would the constant cycle of revenge achieve? Genocide of the horde races? An ultimatum to join the alliance or die? And if so, how would that make them better than Sylvanas? As the book details with Talanji, a stubborn hatred due to pride only leads to self destruction. If there is ever to be any kind of peace on Azeroth, the cycle of vengeance must be broken.
I really hope Lillian Voss gets a new model that does her justice
I think part of her character is that she is simply "just another random forsaken"... maybe some new armor, yeah, but I'd prefer her to stay that "random chick from underneath the corner",
i love her character since cataclysm Q line i hope they will create very interesting story for her and very cool looking character in time

Will we find Mankrik's wife in Shadowlands?
At blizzcon they did make mention of a possible cameo for that
I'd love to see Mankrik die during the expansion, and see him reunited with his wife somewhere in SL. Would feel like a nice conclusion to my 16 years of interest in the love life of a bunch of green pixels I care about far too much 😂
We have! Shes in Maldraxxus, and mentions how sadly the traitor liches arent as satisfying to kill as quilboar
Am i the only one interested about what happened to vol'jin ?
Anduin's really something. Mass Lay On Hands in the BFA intro and now he almost went Shadow Pally. Even Khadgar had to consistently give us a disclaimer that he may or may not know exactly what he's doing before he tries some crazy shit.
Unfortunately, he's not a Pally. Yes, he wears plate armor, yes he has his father's greatsword, however if you ever fight him in game since he's the Human leader, he uses Disc Priest spells, specifically a multi-target Penance, constantly. The boy's just transmogging. :P Though the thought of multiclassing is nice.

Super fitting that it's Bwonsamdi that said it, too.
it was a devastating blow to the lore when they one shotted N'zoth
He'll be back in Shadowlands. He, too, shall serve death.
@@noigan3925 are you stupid. We never killed C'thun or Yogg, blizzard just retconned it

I would assume Stormwind arrested Talanji as she was travelling with a war criminal named Zul who attempted global troll dominance twice if Sylvanas wasn't the warchief the horde would've likely executed them both on sight nevermind imprisonment.
I just wish they aknowledged it a bit and explained what was up. Zul traveling with Talanji as well
Yep so easy to just easy "SEE!

@Doubledasher but then it kinda flies in the face of “Light bad, Shadow/Void akshualleh good” crap they are trying to shove down our throats.
Michael M. Yea I noticed that, knowing that Arthas was his fathers best friend too just keeps me in this as what will Anduin do next?
Dynasty Kings True making him the opposite is the obvious plot twist, build it up that they are one in the same but Anduin’ score beliefs are different than Arthas and that’s the key difference that changes everything
Any alliance infighting or incriminating actions is good imo for the story, it’s getting tired that the horde are always the bad guys doing evil things for evil sake... breaks the whole point of both sides are equal if alliance are always the good guys
So I want to see something like Jaina and Katherine Cinematic from Battle for Azeroth.
that sounds like a very good idea
No?
I feel like a lot of players wouldn’t really be paying attention anyways
The way this story is written and what i've seen from the alpha, it adds depth but doesn't explain as in...the game will let you know what's up. Meaning that it's not a must read to understand wtf is going on like say draenor for example, but it adds a lot for those interested in the story.
I agree with you.
The Great Goblin Wizard Kazamaraz didn’t they confirm after both the book and turn 9 that nael was a women from the start?
I was so happy that the pandarens were finally remembered. They had one placed as a leader in each faction, and then they were just ignored since MoP, like not even a voiceline or a quick mention in game. The only thing theyve really done with them since mop is move around Ji's and Aysa's models
Hearthstone Anduin is canon now.
Shadowy thoughts....

She would be a lot more interesting as a character if it Blizzard was, "yeah, she's incompetent and most of her "clever" plans fails as shown in the game, something is protecting her and have done so ever since Edge of Night."
It would be so satisfying if when she called the Jailer for help in the final fight against her he just goes, "Nah, I've helped you enough. You would never have become Warchief without my help and assisted you failed spectacularly, your plans are silly and incompetent and you're only half as smart as you think you are. Take solace in that your soul will make me stronger."
dear god that would be amazing!
"She had been the plaything of a self-righteous cosmos long enough"
Oh my, Sylvanas, so self-centered! Very bold of you to assume that the cosmos is even aware of what you went through. Very bold of you to assume that the universe even acknowledged your existence.
Do you even know the lore?
@Xan Xa Arthas fucked her up and then now she sucked up to Jailer who needed a proxy on Azeroth to farm him some souls. Its still like... a speck at best on Cosmic scale. I dare say Illidan had more prominence on Cosmos then she ever had.
@@romilgrapp Of course I know the lore. This is more of a taste of nihilism than a lore comment. No matter how much an individual suffers, it'll always be unnoticeable and insignificant in a cosmic scale.
Even beings such as the Titans are rendered minuscule in the face of infinity.
Nathanos is a self insert of one of the writers and hes paraded it around a ton, the writer loves sylvanas to death so I expect their little relationship to continue fully
that is a hoax, it comes from a few tweets he made roleplaying as nathanos, but he constantly roleplays multiple character from the game in tweets. nathanos isn't a self insert, there is a much reason to believe he as as believing garrosh is
@@zennim125 I think a lot of it, from his redesign looking a lot like Steve (writer), and acknowledging it "Its like looking into a mirror" to it following the exact tropes of the description of self insert, I get there where those dumb tweets him RPing as nathanos, but that cant discredit everything else
Yet, that is just my perspective on it, Not trying to hate on anyone who doesnt see it that way
@@227gamerman Agree. Nathanos seems to just be so important for it not to be true. He just wont go away. Such a stupid character too. Straight up bootlicker that has as much plot armor as her. Its ridiculous.
Would like to see Tyrande just decapitate sylvanas
Bwonsamdi actually called him Zappy boi?! That's amazing!

Rokhan is the leader of the darkspear trolls.
Awesome.
Alliance Paladin > Horde Paladin
I dont like to see Anduin struggling. Not because I feel bad for him, but because he shouldn't be high king of the Alliance in the first place. He inherired Stormwind not the entire faction. Tyrande or Velen should be in charge and if they needed human for the posters, there is Genn or Jaina.

Old wounds reopen when someone picks at it.
But maybe that makes for a bigger villain?? i really don't like what they did with some of the characters in BFA.
My thoughts exactly! Her Voice acting was really great, however I just could not get into her narration

Title: shadows rising, and anduin getting half the cover art..... respecc confirmed?
Great addition the lore, loved every page! I could tell that she plays WoW and knows the story well.
Rose's Zen Garden ok thanks!
I love Bwonsamedi, he’s naughty but not “bad”, plus his name sounds like good Saturday.

Second thought as to why the Night Elf Undead would agree to return, or see it as no choice at all.
Loved the Book too 😀 Awesome content as always ! ❤
Soft spoilers below:
I absolutely loved Shadows Rising.
You never seemed to understand Anduin. But well, nothing else can be expected from Hordebrat.
And not by a Russian anyway.
Ky van Rae 1) I’m not Russian
2) It’s a very poor way to communicate, but not uncommon in Alliance circles, so congratulations on reaffirming this point of view.
Are you fucking kidding me? They made "Zappy Boy" cannon? Taliesin's head is going to get even bigger now.
Hello, Nobbel! i have a question: why Jaina doesn't trust the void? She worked with Umbric together in 8.1 :(
Blizz: removes garrosh saying bitch
Also blizz: lets anduin say shit
Lmao the ad before this video was for a powerleveling website.
Out of context: No wonder Sylvanas aint's so popular no more. Not just the stuff she've recently done, but she also don't put out as much as she used to. You gain a power up and suddenly you need armor ?! (you can say she has her plan B(s) now I guess lol :D :D)
can you do a one video story of the lore of shadow lands please?
It will be interesting if Sylvanas and Nathanos serve the Void Lords or a Darkness Primordial entity.
Thanks Nobbel for giving us the info that Blizzard refuses to bring ingame.
I was about to make a comment about now I have a chance with Shaw, but nah, Shaw is in a league all by himself.
I bought the audiobook but just can't get through it. No offense to Talanjii's voice actress but I don't really like her interpretation of most of the characters. This has made me realize that ingame narration and book narration are two quite different things.
It was mostly just the gruff voices, it was hard to differentiate who was talking but i mean nobody would be able to cover all roles.
@@kylesmith564 Sure they would, did you listen to Before the Storm, Josh did a great job.
Mathias Shaw Gay? I thought he has some connection whit Valeera
He's just a really good spymaster. Knows how to get things out of people...and put things into them as well.
either he was gay along time ago or blizz is becoming more woke now.
Yeah, that came out of left field... maybe J K Rowling is starting to write for Blizz?
I mean if they said Wrathion and Anduin got together THAT would have been more believable.... though not gonna lie.. the moment we found Taelia was a Fordragon, I Immediately shipped Anduin and her)
I wouldn't have mind it but Shaw never hinted anything, and I felt like Flynn somehow made references to women he has loved when you quest with him...
....though then again they both stand/lean on something that same way....
Anyway. In all I am interested to see if this would really be pursued especially with Blizz cow-towing to China and if we learned anything from the controversy (well one of them) in Rise of Skywalker over two women kissing... blizz may kibosh it.
Yeah i was not a fan of that chapter, if it wasn't shaw i wouldnt care but you cant do my man shaw like that. Ruined my lore for him haha
@@Dayz3O6 Super woke.
After this book I am chomping at the bit for more Alleria/Turalyon content. I cannot wait to see how their story plays out.
Turalyon's becoming more like AU Draenor's Lightforged, ironically thanks to Alleria's voidy methods. I'm not so sure we'll get the Light vs Void that people were thinking, I think we might end up fighting BOTH.
but what is flin and shaw's pet name? that is the real question
flaw and shin are funny but im after more cutesy
So wait I didnt get it sorry but then Anduin is going to the shadowlands to chase Sylvanas and leaves Turalyon as the leader of the Alliance? Or is the other way around? Anduin sends Turalyon to hunt down Sylvanas in the Shadowlands? Again Thank you so much for making this videos.
Neither. Sylvanas somehow abducts him to the maw. Turalyon serves as regent while he is gone.
The story at this point is a convoluted mess. At least there are interesting characters.
The real world is also a convoluted mess, if anything it makes it feel more realistic/relatable.
Uhm isnt flynn straight i mean in the tiragarde main questline his buddy at freehold even says something like say Flynn what's with that girl ?
Bi maybe?
He's confirmed to be bisexual
I wonder if we gonna see something done for those who loyal to the dark queen lie a quest before shadowlands comes out ,and also where is gallywix ?
@Rimon Shamon “loyalists” had their fun. You no longer deserve nor need any more special attention.
Anduin changed spec from Holy to Shadow, nice nice! Also, my little heart is so so sooo happy that my favourite ship has sailed! Mathias and Flynn is OTP
Is it possible ,that resurrection of Calia Menethil by light force , broke machinery of death??
So they dont explain how Anduin etc got into the Maw?
Blizzard in 2020: We've done it! We've finally added gayness to WoW
Goldshire Inn ERPers in 2010: Bruh...
Shaw and Flynn is J K Rowling level of random. Anduin and Wrathion would have been more believable.
Though I REALLY ship Taelia and Anduin now.... #Tanduin #Andaelia!
@@gunblade7610 Alliance: Exists
Blizzard: You gay
yeah that's an achievement. Putting a gay couple in fantasy.
Hahahaha! “She doesn’t take kindly to horde around here.”
Thank you for this! It's awesome
Wow so we are back at the point where JAINA is again the most moderate in the Alliance?!
Still don't understand why Sylvanas would even still keep Nathanos.
Imagine being that petty, simping freakozoid while earning helluva lot in a huge game company?
i wounder what happened to gallywix since galwoze takes his place
I listen to your stuff as I relax at night. I swear it sounded like you said "Coin-Sexual" instead of "coin satchel"... lol
