Spring Fed Timber Framed Greenhouse Part 10 Glazing The Sides

  • I started this video about three weeks ago now but mid way through just as i had done the roof i pulled my back. As my injury got better i started doing small jobs that i could do and one of those was glazing the sides of the greenhouse. I used a glazing technique called direct glazing. It has worked well im a am happy that it will last a long time so i will do the same for the roof in the next video.

    Combine that with every tool known to man, access to woodland, a fresh water stream, a huge amount of know-how and the mental capacity for being responsible for large scale projects that you rely on to live going to plan and voila! Kris harbor everybody

    Hi Kris,
    regarding the spring -- you might have a look into ground water recharging techniques, like having swales or a small rain water fed pond above the greenhouse. This could help to stabilize the spring flow a bit.
    BTW, I LOVE that greenhouse !

      Swales would be a great idea unless they get swamped in the rainy season.

    • @jeremak
      @jeremak 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, as long as parts of property with rain collecting structures are covered by grass, and it isn't actively used for pasture it isn't super no-no deal. And watching Kris, if he would decide on some swales etc. he would end with some super fancy small overflow spillways. If remember correctly there is small pond on property. Small-scale work around it may be a good start.

    Fantastic idea on the glazing. I was worried that the greenhouse would lose the view of the beautiful timber framing work you had done with a bunch of ugly metal framing to hold the windows... But your plan is both beautiful and functional and highlights all those great timbers. Well worth the wait to see how you solved that problem.
