The best video explaining cubital tunnel syndrome!!!! clear, precise and easy to understand! the only disappointment is when I heard it takes 6 weeks to recover....oh my! 6????? I was hoping for 2. how about stretching? Would that accelerate the recovery? Highly recommend this video.

I was diagnosed with this in both arms yesterday. I've had symptoms for about 10 years that have gradually got worse.
I Have been referred nerve conduction tests. Thanks for the video, I've been feeling very upset since yesterday, this has eased my mind a bit as I remember the clinician saying I don't have muscle wastage which seems like a good sign!

I have had this for like 6-8 years now. It only happens when my elbow is bent for long periods of time. I had two nerve conduction tests years apart. The result was the same both times; the conduction was JUST under the lower range of what is considered normal. They said I had nothing to worry about. I haven't seen an worse symptoms and the last test was a few years ago.

This was helpful thank you. I was just diagnosed with CTS via an EMG and I’m awaiting my follow ups. However, this is been going on for years and every doctor I saw missed the diagnosis; GP’s, Neurologists, Orthopedists. I had to stop riding a motorcycle as my hand went from pins/needles in the 4 & 5th fingers full on hand and arm numbness. Full blown hand asleep and very dangerous. Then numbness then showed up when just riding a bicycle and of course sitting in a chair with my arm up on the rest. Is this super rare? I would expect that when presenting to a doctor that my hand was falling asleep, 3/4th finger numbness, tingling in the morning in bed, neck and shoulder discomfort; CTS would be one of the immediate things they would have looked for. My 5th doctor in the 5th year of trying to figure this out asked that my second EMG specifically key in on this. I’m thankful that I now know what I’m dealing with but I’m surprised this has been a medical mystery in my story.

Hi Bob thank you for sharing… Actually the cycling you mentioned can be common because of putting pressure/weight through the arms to handlebars. Wishing you all the best and glad you have a direction

Wasting is where the muscle loses tone because it is not getting nerve signal. It is something you see visibly. Have a Google of “muscle wasting” images and you will see

Thenar eminence wasting is not prominent with ulnar nerve lesions since only adductor policis is supplied by the ulnar nerve. The image used for thenar wasting could be misleading therefore.

Thalamic stroke, yep, my freeway nerve system is fried, dead. So my pain in my hand is torture, I'm being electrocuted, set on fire, and stabbed constantly. I can't even rate the pain because the nerve pain scale should be constant, torture, for the rest of your life. Then, damage to nerves to my organs. The worst is temperature nerve pain where you can feel sweat pour down your head and body goes rigid, could be for hours that you are being attacked. Have you had patience with a thalamic stroke? This nerve pain is no joke.
