Thank you so much for these 5 exercises. I've watched many, many videos to find some relief for what I am experiencing, and your videos seem to be a bit different than the others and more helpful to me. I don't really have numbness in my ring finger and pinky however, but my issue has really been pain mainly in the wrist and arm from the entrapment. Once again, thank you.

It's aggravating how much most people seem to hyperfocus on the numbness and tingling while completely glossing over the pain and sensitivity going down the arm, which for me has been much more frustrating. It's good to see there's ways to really target the forearm portion of the nerve.

I had performed a few basic ulnar exercises last night, as my problems have heightened to the point I had to try to find some relief. I was sure to be very gentle in doing so & only performed a few. I really wish I had found your content first though as, when i woke up today, my ring finger, left hand is really quite swollen & sore, Im also in much more discomfort throughout the entire length of the nerve at the sites that you covered than I was before, should I be concerned?! Im aware inflammation is the bodys first defence, but I am now more than a little apprehensive about reengaging it so as not to irritate it further 😕

Sadly I think I've waited too long to address this issue. I had a nerve test done some 5 years ago and recently (past 6 months) it seems to be deteriorating. Is it too late for me to use the book or should I consider surgery? Probably you can't make that call without seeing me and running some tests. I use to live in Orange County but now I'm in Monterey County...any advice...I'm 61 and still very active, beach volleyball, biking and some light weight lifting. Thanks!

Same thing is happening to me. I was talking to a doctor the other day about it and he said there’s no real alternative besides surgery. I hate it cause I can’t work out like I use to because a lot of exercises cause irritation on the nerve. I still try to work out and ignore it, but tbh it’s too much.
I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in the ulnar nerve area for two years because someone bit me really hard there. I tried working out and doing some calisthenics, but it didn’t help. Do you think having this problem for over two years with no improvement means that surgery is the only solution?
Thank you, thank you! I was afraid (from past experience with broken neck vertebrae) that I was going to have to have surgery again. Hoping like crazy that it's fixable with these exercises.

After months of having sudden odd nerve sensory issues, I finally was able to figure out that I have an issue with my ulnar nerve, but in the brachial plexus area. I got some odd tingling and numbness sensations in my right shoulder blade area that became fully numb after some regular exercising, but then has slowly gotten a bit better. I finally did a pushup recently and each time I did one I felt a sudden nerve pain in my elbow and it's in the ulnar nerve area. After searching up brachial plexus and ulnar nerve flossing I've noticed that's when I start feeling all the sudden tingling sensations again. This suddenly happened to me after some abuse in my family then the next day I attempted a "reverse" pullup, where I was held up to grab the bar and then let go to slowly descend down. Not sure which caused my issue, but it definitely started suddenly after something that happened here. Hope I can fix it.. I have an appointment coming up soon

Hi Jill. That’s a good question. Sorry you’ve been having to deal with it. It’s never easy. We would have to do a detailed examination to see how to manage it and to figure out what is going on as there are many conditions and contributing factors that can create the same symptoms on different people
I have entrapment in both my arms. I tried these exercises and it seems as if I have aggravated the nerve in my left arm. Is this normal, or should I stay away from some of the exercises?

I'm not sure what I've done to cause it but randomly a couple weeks ago I got really sharp and sudden nerve pain in my forearm. It radiates to my fingers. Sometimes its in the front. Sometimes in the back. Its random but many times a day. When it happens I lose total control of my hand. No numbness and tingling. Is this common with a compressed ulnar nerve?

Hi 12 days ago i slammed the soft area between the elbow and funny bone into the corner of a wood frame - after excruciating pain for the first 10min and feeling like I was on the verge of vomiting , the numbness and electricity died down in my arm and it felt somewhat back to normal - I’ve been keeping a log since then of activities that seem to cause pain/discomfort and for the most part I’m able to do everything normally even work out with weights - but I noticed with prolonged guitar playing (having my arm bent for long periods of time) seems to activate a pain in the area of my injury - on the 11th day after my injury I tried to do gentle nerve flossing exercises for the ulnar nerve and noticed that when I went to the “salute position” there was a tightness and I couldn’t reach to my forehead - that very night my elbow area was tender and just laying down brought pain in the area - (it seemed to get worse after the nerve flossing exercises) I was wondering who I should see for this issue - any medical advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Doctors told me .....Mild ulnar nerve neuroprexia across elbow on left side ..... Please tell me about excerise ......or give me link to see excercises ....
I hit my “funny bone” ulnar nerve pretty hard 2 1/2 weeks ago against an edge. A perfect hit and very hard. Pinky and ring finger were tingling and numb for about 15-20s. It resided and went to normal. Next day with just a dull ache where I hit the nerve and very minimal discomfort sensations in hand. No pain, tingling, or numbness though. The nerve now still feels a bit swollen still, slightly tender. If I perform the waiter nerve glide, as I flex my elbow fully with hand extended I’ll feel the nerve slide over my medial epicondyle, and as I go back to extend my elbow it pops back. No pain with this. Normal elbow bending doesn’t cause this pop, But I realize it’s definitely an issue and only happens with the waiter stretch. My question Is, is it possible I just bruised the nerve/area and it’s swollen? Also is it also possible to fix this possible subluxation issue with alternate exercises, nerve stretches, etc.? I perform a lot of Bodyweight work (push ups, pull ups, etc.) there’s no pain when I do them, but I don’t want to make an issue worse so I cut them out and stick to more straight arm work (handstands, front lever, l sits, etc.) in the meantime Any response is appreciated thanks!
Hello. It’s possible to injury a nerve to compression. You would have to speak with your doctor in person about timelines, treatment and so on. We don’t see people with trauma. As for subluxation of nerves, I see people who have this on both elbows from time to time… one is painful the other isn’t. Hope that helps some. Happy healing.
It won’t just heal over time? Mine showed up in last two fingers after I had hip surgery and I was on crutches… have been off the crutches for 3 weeks yet numbers in those 2 fingers is still there.

@@Performance-Place-chiropractor I’d like to ask another question. I have been having distal bicep pain and ulnar nerve pain. My surgeon told me she thought the distal bicep pain was coming from my neck. I had a cervical spine mri and i have bulging discs, arthritis and bone spurs and narrowing in c5 and c6. So, my question is from what I have read and watched, the c8 affects the ulnar nerve. My c8 is fine. So, if my c8 is fine, would that rule out that the neck is affecting the ulnar nerve?
Nerve roots like c8 combine to form more than just the ulnar nerve. it is a part if the medial and radial. The body is pretty complex and some people's symptoms are not the same as others with the same pathology. Sounds like your surgeon is on to something. How to solve the issue (with or without surgery) would be the next question. We see people with nerve conditions often and with the right style of care most of them get better without invasive procedures. Contact us if you'd like.

When doing the flossing type exercises, if the sensation in the fingers goes from numbness to being able to feel the nerve move - so not pain but having an actual flossing sensation -- is that a good sign or a sign to back off?

@@debbiemoore3656 hello. Surprisingly the pinky pain was actually caused by shingles (even though I’m younger and even though I do have ulnar nerve compression). But I also ended up developing some other shingles symptoms too. I think the stress from the ulnar pain is what caused me to develop shingles. I went on shingles medication and it fixed my pinky pain. In terms of my pain of the ulnar nerve compression, I still get irritation but pretty manageable. What I did to feel better was keep my arm as straight any chance I get and for as long as possible. Hi John. Loved your message :). Thank you so much. Come see us so we can help you with complete resolution. That video is only a small part of what needs to be done. I even wrote a whole book on this subject www.p2sportscare.com/product/fix-hand-numbness/
Hi Danielle. Sorry to hear about your issue. To answer your questions correctly I need more info. Set up a Discovery Session so we can speak privately

Why do you think it comes at 3am?
Wow thank you for these great exercises! I can already feel a major difference. How many times a day is it safe to do them ?
How safe they are depends on the type of case and the cause of symptoms. We never give exercises without assessing first so to answer that question we would need to assess you. You’re welcome to set up a consultation. Link in description for video

Thanks!
Hey Scott, give us a call. We dont need any special expensive tests to figure out what we can safely have you do at home for things like this. Extra tests are extra info that we normally will request if someone is NOT getting better with what we suggest. Message us and our interns can help figure out if we can help in any way. Best of luck!
I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in the ulnar nerve area for two years because someone bit me really hard there. I tried working out and doing some calisthenics, but it didn’t help. Do you think having this problem for over two years with no improvement means that surgery is the only solution?

8/17/2020 - I saw a professional and have been struggling with this for a year now. I work heavily with my hands in construction. The doctor recommended cortisone shots. I've taken two rounds already since last October - second round in May. Both elbows are in a lot of pain and the second round didn't last as long as the first. Should I continue with another round of shots or pursue something else? What are my options?

Hey there. Sorry to hear about that. Make sure you see your doctor or come see us if you live in California
Thanks for sharing Sapphire. Sadly your story is not uncommon. The great news is that most people can get better within a month or so if they pick the right type of care. If you want any help with it just reach out via the link in the description

My nerve has been entrapped for 1 week. How long should I wait to see an orthopedist? I’m doing exercises and ibuprofen.
You should be examined by a qualified medical professional as soon as possible.
I perform a lot of Bodyweight work (push ups, pull ups, etc.) there’s no pain when I do them, but I don’t want to make an issue worse so I cut them out and stick to more straight arm work (handstands, front lever, l sits, etc.) in the meantime
Any response is appreciated thanks!

Can an mri show ulnar nerve problems
A good examine by someone who knows how to examine is all most people need. MRIs dont show all reasons for pain
@@Performance-Place-chiropractor thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I’m just nervous that it could be my neck. I don’t want any kind of neck surgery. She is talking about an e m g/nerve conduction study
Yes it can be frightening but there is a public misconception that is the neck is involved it requires surgery. The neck is like any other part of the body that simply requires a specific rehabilitation and treatment approach. Surgery is rarely required but time is of the essence. Info@p2sportscare.com

OMG-I have the exact sharp pain right at the tip of my pinky finger. What did you end of doing and did you get relief?
@@debbiemoore3656 hello. Surprisingly the pinky pain was actually caused by shingles (even though I’m younger and even though I do have ulnar nerve compression). But I also ended up developing some other shingles symptoms too. I think the stress from the ulnar pain is what caused me to develop shingles. I went on shingles medication and it fixed my pinky pain. In terms of my pain of the ulnar nerve compression, I still get irritation but pretty manageable. What I did to feel better was keep my arm as straight any chance I get and for as long as possible. I made sure not to sleep on my arm and there were times where I would where an elbow brace backwards while sleeping. But some nights it actually made things worse. We had someone recently who was able to do push ups again within less than 3 weeks using our 5 step method. Info@p2sportscare.com

We would like to help if you’re open to it
