These pageants were so well done and so elegant in the 80s & 90s Particularly . Miss USA , Miss Universe , Miss Teen YSA & Miss America . They lost some of their polish in the 21st Century . But I still love to watch them . Currently I’ve been watching them online year by year each of them started with 1968 when they were first presented on television in color. Up to 1992 now . The Miss USA pageant has 2009& 2010 unavailable online.,Miss America has 2011, 2017 & 2023 unavailable . Also the year 2021 some pageants were not held because of the Covid world wide pandemic.
CA has excellent speaking skills. She delivers smooth answers with conviction but no fluff (ie, her final answer: believing in leaving things in the past and allow to move forward...).
Same answer, but California's delivery had that little something extra. And I think her answering last kind of sealed the deal in the end ... barely. Either of them would be outstanding winners.
lol when Debra Shelton enters for the first time she trips and makes that fake smile after, and then she says she is surprised Miss Nevada did not make the finalists cause she was Miss Congeniality. Since when does Miss Congeniality make the finalists. oh please how fake can u be

The late 80s til around 1994-5 were the absolute best. Cream of the crop.

Yes, I agree. I never found Debra an intelligent Miss USA when compared to Amanda Jones who won three years after Debra.
