Fun Snook & Cuda Action With New Lure [Manatee River Fishing Report]

This Manatee River fishing report video shows some fun fishing action that I had on a recent trip while exploring some new waters.
It's another example of the fact that you don't have to use live bait in order to catch fish... in this case, I was using our new shrimp lure called the Power Prawn USA because it does a great job at getting strikes even if the fish aren't hungy.
This trip was the Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend, so the fish were super spooky due to getting pressured the 3 days prior.
In conditions like this when the fish are spooky and the water is clear, I like to use the gliding shrimp lures because they don't put off too much vibration and their gliding motion does a great job at triggering strikes.

Ive seen yall talk about the sound that some lines make going through water. Thinner or more dense lines will have higher pitches than softer or thicker lines which will have a lower pitch. To hear the difference string a guitar with different sizes of floro and then different sizes of mono. That will help to understand the vibration pitches of the lines to the human ear. But what tones or pitches the fish hear will be different across species. I havent come up completly with a way to detect or record the sound vibration of the lines underwater but im working on it when time permits. But sound recording equipment placed in ziplock baggies under running water next to a line with different luers is the test im looking at if I can figure out how to pull this off. If you guys have an idea of how to perform these test give it a try. But different species of fish will have different reactions to different sounds. I gave up floro a long time ago because of knot strength and abrasion problems. But when I said mono was better people would start foaming at the mouth and wallowing on the ground in epileptic fits so I refused to speak of my findings long ago. Until now. Now I can say see! Its not just me.Thank you for this show and youre findings.

Small world. My boat is docked just up the river from where you launched. Great to see some fishing on the water I run all the time. The river docks are tough for me because I don't have a trolling motor yet. I stick more to the bulkhead and Terra Cia. Always knew there had to be fish along those docks. Most of the action was with the Power Prawn USA shrimp rigged on a 4/0 Hoss Helix with a 1/8th oz weight on the shank.

Gotta practice that FG, you make it look easy. Nice work on the snook, I recently had a big boy rasp right through a 20-lb leader. Tough call if you’re expecting something other than juvies.
