Definition of irony: Ron Swanson found love through a government program.
Not at all. He said that the public works wasn't doing it so he would. The irony is that he doesn't want the government to do anything, and yet, as a government employee he goes and does it.

A part of me is sad that Chris wasn't there. He would have been the MOST excited he'd ever been to see these two people he inadvertantly brought together solidy their love through legal contract.

I like her boundary when ron doesnt acknowledge the way he hurt her daughters. She doesnt mistreat him, just says "not good enough, good day". He then does the proper thing and ponies up. Well done

For someone as blunt bordering on self centered as Ron, Diane really was perfect. She is someone who knows how Ron thinks and isn't going to just put up with it because she has her own priorities like her daughters.

It's a great scene. Tammy was always unbridled chaos and was usually able to make Ron's previous girlfriends and friends uneasy. Diane however doesn't fear her.
Fifty bucks on Diane.
I cackled the first time I watched that scene! Tammy’s expression was like, “Nope, nope, not worth it…” Pretty sure we all know Diane could easily take her (or anyone else) on without leaving so much as a hair out of place.
Tammy might have crazy chaotic energy but she would burn out fast while Diane wouldn’t even break a sweat.
Don't mess with Xena.
Diane shopping at Food 'n Stuff had Ron intrigued. Her wanting to know how to fix a pothole locked him in.

I never noticed this any of the times I actually watched the show, but at 2:09 Diane's daughter calls him Daddy instead of Ron like they used to call him, that is pretty wholesome.

Megan Mullalley. She also played Karen on Will & Grace, and voices Linda’s sister on Bob’s Burger. Love her in absolutely everything she’s in!
You can tell that they were having a ton of fun with most of their scenes, especially when they get more and more outrageous.

She's so gorgeous. Lucy Lawless has such an amazing smile. I love that she brought that Xena coolness to the Diane character.
When "Diane Tammy Lewis" becomes one of the best jokes in your series you have proof that you did an outstanding job with your characters and storylines.

Ron's story arc is one of the most unexpected and underappreciated in television. To watch this man's heart melt, reluctantly at first, and then enthusiastically, was so amazing! Parks and Recreation is one of the best TV shoes ever! ^_^

To this day, I wanted to see Diane throw hands with Tammy 2. I can just picture Tammy 2 running away from Diane in that weird way she does.
It was a missed opportunity not entitling this segment as "Diane: Warrior Princess."

Diane is the most recent incarnation of her first true form Xena Warrior Princess, in fact the show Xena even had a bit where she specifically reincarnated in the 90's as an American. We now know that was foreshadowing.

I never caught Diane's girls calling Ron daddy during the festival scene! Sad that that implies their biological dad is out of the picture for one reason or another, but I love how that shows the degree to which Ron has been cemented into the family.

I'm glad the character ultimately ended up the way she did and she and Ron went on to be such a great couple. There were a couple moments early on where she was just an analog for every unreasonable single mother and it really felt like she was actively trying to scare Ron away.

At no point did I imply that it was entirely the woman's fault. It takes two. The man who left is trash. The fact that you somehow saw otherwise is a little scary. As for the "they don't have to be parents" argument. Please learn to absorb information better. All I implied was the more good role models, the better for the kid. Using this information it's ok to assume that having TWO parents as good role models is better than only having one.
