For anyone's curiosity, sonic 2 HD is still being worked on. Yeah the dev team still refuse to say anything (the 3d modeler of the special stages did say the project was alive but the tweet got deleted) and I bet they will stay silent on social media til demo 3.0 is finnished. What we'll have in the next demo is: -Super Sonic; -Special Stages; -Aquatic Ruin Zone. -Casino Night Zone. (most likely) Mac port and mobile port. Also they are working on an early version of Oil Ocean, Mystic Cave, elemental shields and a HD remake of Green Hill Zone/sonic1 HD as a side project. None of the streams showed any stuff related to knux or the last few stages of sonic2 after Oil Ocean except for a animation for sonic hanging in something (most likely his sprite in Wing Fortress)

I wish we'd get an update on Sonic Advance Revamped. It only has 3 acts but it feels so much better than the original and they added Cream, Shadow and Blaze. But the last demo was in 2018.
A few additional fangame questions: 1) Have you played Sonic Classic 2, Sonic 2 Advanced Edit, Hellfire Saga, or Megamix Mania? 2) Favorite 3D fangames besides P06? Triple Trouble 16-Bit (which I know I specified not games from this video but still mentioning) is probably my overall pick for the best complete or near complete 2D fangame I've seen, there's others with more original zones or really great art or unique style but I don't think they quite come together as well in their variety, replayability, or level design and that gives TT16 a bit of an edge for me. Just my opinion! I haven't really looked into 3D fangames enough to say anything confidently.
Triple Trouble 16-Bit is so good that I have no problems with ranking it alongside the classic games. I think I love it more than Sonic 2. If you ever think about going a step further and doing a video on "Sonic inspired" games, I recommend Spark The Electric Jester 3. It's legitimately worthy of being called Sonic Adventure 3.
Earlier this year I heard some news that Chaos X could possibly have the release that will have the Last Story and the boss battles in it be made downloadable either sometime later this year or early next year. Unfortunately that one will be the Final Release and it won't have the story mode and the hub-worlds in it. Don't loose hope though because the person who I heard about this final release from did mention that it is possible that after that final release becomes available, some other people could get interested in having themselves make downloadable mods of the story mode and the hub-worlds so that P-06 can be able to look more complete. My parents made a deal with me that I will share an amount of my own money with some of thier's so that I can get my own PC as my only Christmas gift this year. I've planned to try to play P-06 on that system and some friend will help me pick the right one.

Project 06 is probably one of my favorite fan projects in the sonic franchise but personally, I like sonic, one forever and sonic two absolute along with sonic three air in my opinion I feel like those are the definitive ways to play the classics
Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit is such a fantastic fan remake. It truly does feel official. The biggest issues, in my opinion, when it comes to the original game is the hardware it was stuck on and the extremely short length which was fixed with the fan remake. I will say, probably should've put a spoiler warning for the Triple Trouble segment because Knuckles being revealed to be Metal Sonic in disguise was supposed to be a surprise. I know I was definitely surprised when I got to that point.

4:44 not really. I tested out my NVS 2100M laptop GPU (DX11 is backwards compatible with DX10&10.1 Nvidia hardware) and apparently achieved about 30fps at the best of times in 640x480. I think my lowest fps was realistically 7fps when Shadow uses Chaos Blast... USE A GTX 280, I BEG YOU! I cannot deny what he said about requiring beefy hardware. Not that a GT 1030 is beefy but it will fill 1080p120 Low settings and back.

I just played Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit a couple of weeks ago, and it's easily a top 3 Sonic game behind S3K and Sonic Mania, IMO. It gave me that same feeling that playing S3K for the first time gave me, and that's saying something.

Me and my parents have a Windows 11 PC in our house, so that one will be able handle that game's data for sure. Then I will be ready to play it and download the next updates after Chaos X makes them. I've already heard of how much of an improved version this remake is and I think that both it and the original version interestingly look like an SA3 game in disguise!

damn I wish ChaosX makes an Unleashed fan remake after P-06 is done, Unleashed is a few mods away from being a perfect Sonic game the day stages only need a more controllable drift the night stages need to increase the werehog's damage against smaller enemies and remove the invisible barriers when fighting them, instead making the incentive to stop charging your range meter for the bigger fights and adding a damage bonus (see Forspoken's Ultimate mode where doing well in combat makes you do more damage), increase the werehog's speed while making ranks require faster completion time and RESTRICT THE FIGHT MUSIC to the big fights only, the night stages are not bad at all they just don't emphasize speed and drag on far too long with the werehog being slow.
Yeah, P-06 Android is like update 2 or 3 last time I checked. We are now so far removed from it that the version-scheme that replaced the original "update"-numbers has itself been recently replaced.
I don't really dislike most of the Sonic artstyles with a few nitpicky exceptions(I don't really like shiny player models in Heroes and Mania's colors are too light for me personally), but there isn't really such a thing as too much of a good thing in some siturations. Just because I like the pixelart does not stop Sonic 2 HD from looking pretty good. It has got that similar look to the official classic-artwork and implements the high quality 2D-visuals in such a way where it avoids that weird feeling Sonic 4's stage assets have.(I like Sonic 4, but I never said it doesn't have issues. Idk why, but the way its stages look reminds me of Fnaf 6 Tycoon mode, lol.) 5:19 06 was simply ahead of its time in a bad way(So was the game before it in several ways, but that's a diffrent topic for another day years in the future). It tried to pull realism into the fantasy-sphere, but would have failed even if it was finished because I don't see how it would have started to be possible. Studio Blur's CGI cutscenes are the only part of it that actually captured that vision...at least until P-06 slapped the ingame visuals with that major upgrade. One of the rare times graphics are indeed more relevant than artdirection and the advancements of now almost 2 decades sure did a lot of work. 10:42 Didn't many people say that it barely has any actual resemblance to the original? "It really could have reached its peak if it was completely diffrent".(Though tbf, I'm hypocritical here because my ideal SA1 remake would be to just completely reimagine most things. Amy more or less being a brawler-gameplaystyle because I take Amy canonically being weak in that game to the extreme to where she needs combos to beat enemies that other characters just hit once or twice) 11:39 And then the story begins with Sonic only losing the emeralds because of Eggman using a bug that was patched out of &Knuckles.(Unless that has been changed) Oops?
To be fair to 06 Amy. Amy has always sucked to play as. In Adventure, a slight 1° turn kills all momentum, she cannot walk up a slope to save her life, and her attacks bring you to a stand still. Sonic Heroes. Sonic 06 and the Advance trilogy were the same, I think Origins was the first time she was enjoyable in official releases. But P-06 is still a nice change considering it's the first 3D game she's been good in.

I think sega would really benefit from these passionate fans. I know it's a rushed game that's why im disappointed.Ultimately tho Sega could've reached higher with 06 if only they took the time to finish it. 06 honestly had pretty decent graphics for it's time, and some really nice stage variety, though P-06 is still a big improvement visually.
Stage design was among one of the best in the games, and if anything i think that's a W Sonic holds above Mario in most of his games
P-06 improves a lot more than just the visuals

Lmao I use an RTX 3050 and average 1080p 60fps AT MOST. GT 1030 won't cut it

I don't really dislike most of the Sonic artstyles with a few nitpicky exceptions(I don't really like shiny player models in Heroes and Mania's colors are too light for me personally), but there isn't really such a thing as too much of a good thing in some siturations. Just because I like the pixelart does not stop Sonic 2 HD from looking pretty good.
It has got that similar look to the official classic-artwork and implements the high quality 2D-visuals in such a way where it avoids that weird feeling Sonic 4's stage assets have.(I like Sonic 4, but I never said it doesn't have issues. Idk why, but the way its stages look reminds me of Fnaf 6 Tycoon mode, lol.)
5:19 06 was simply ahead of its time in a bad way(So was the game before it in several ways, but that's a diffrent topic for another day years in the future). It tried to pull realism into the fantasy-sphere, but would have failed even if it was finished because I don't see how it would have started to be possible. Studio Blur's CGI cutscenes are the only part of it that actually captured that vision...at least until P-06 slapped the ingame visuals with that major upgrade. One of the rare times graphics are indeed more relevant than artdirection and the advancements of now almost 2 decades sure did a lot of work.

Amy more or less being a brawler-gameplaystyle because I take Amy canonically being weak in that game to the extreme to where she needs combos to beat enemies that other characters just hit once or twice)

Amy has always sucked to play as. In Adventure, a slight 1° turn kills all momentum, she cannot walk up a slope to save her life, and her attacks bring you to a stand still.
Sonic Heroes.
Sonic 06 and the Advance trilogy were the same, I think Origins was the first time she was enjoyable in official releases. But P-06 is still a nice change considering it's the first 3D game she's been good in.

I think sega would really benefit from these passionate fans. I know it's a rushed game that's why im disappointed.Ultimately tho Sega could've reached higher with 06 if only they took the time to finish it. Also I know sonic's known for "going fast" but we as fans can only hope that they take the time like in frontiers. Ngl tho it's time to learn from the mistakes and push forward 💯🔥
