I'm glad you decided to continue reacting to Nightwish's music. Thanks for a nice shout-out - of course you have a new subscriber here. All the best, from Romania!
Metal music bringing you happiness and joy is not at all a juxtaposition. Fun fact: this has actually been studied, and listening to metal music measurably makes people happy. DW has a minidoc about this on youtube called "why metalheads are happier people". Being German television, they visited Wacken for that. Can recommend.
You must check out Poets of the Fall next, Carnival of Rust or Angel. Then Jarkko Ahola, Still loving you, Stairway to Heaven or Walking in the Air for example.
I saw them live 16.6.2023 at Kitee Rantakenttä, Finland. Floor was very hevily pregnant, but still they delivered a full two hours show, including "Storytime" and "Ghost Love Score". 😎👍
@@paiviliias7387 And Floor collapsed after the Vaasa show. Even in the best of my days l couldn't perform 2 full shows in two days including traveling and such.
Hello, Mert Fin. Nightwish Army new subscriber here for you. Thank you for this wonderful reaction to our beloved Nightwish with Floor Jansen on female lead vocals. Carol, my lovely wife of 42 years, and I got to travel from Phoenix to San Francisco to see them perform live at the historic Warfield Theatre on May 18th, 2022. The show was incredible and we had a terrific time from when we were standing in line with so many other Nightwish fans to get in until the very end of the concert. Keep working through Gabriel's list... although it is okay to skip around as the mood takes you.
Did you mention the Snowman? Here in Finland, it is also shown on TV every Christmas😁please, check out the old Nightwish "Walking in the Air" with Tarja! It's amazing!
Once again noticed few things common to first reactions on Nightwish, that show the emotions they are able to create. First is involuntary smiling - people just "burst" in to smiles without being able to hold them in. Second and even more telling is people instinctively holding their chest to calm themselves down. Its usually a primal reaction to adrenaline, over bearing joy, surprise - as well as fear. Just a proof how they reach emotions - actually by using the same techniques as in classical/symphonic compositions.
Dude, I know it's in 'the list' somewhere, but the way this has struck into your soul, I recommend "Shoemaker" official lyric video. This is the story of Eugene Shoemaker, considered the father of planetary science and co-discoverer of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9. This is the one that crashed into Jupiter in about 1994. Shoemaker is the only person who has had their ashes sent to the moon. This song by Nightwish and Floors singing gives me endless shivers and, with the video adding to the song, especially the ending, brings tears of pure joy on every listen. In fact, many songs do this. I have become addicted to "Floorgasms," too. I warn you now. Listening to her is like cocaine for the soul.
Hello again Mert Fin this was an absolute breathtaking reaction to breathtaking Nightwish, thanks and see you at the next probably breathtaking song, it will happen again and again, Bye!!!! 😀😀😂😂
Nightwish isn't just a band or just music. Nightwish is a lifestyle. That little smile while listening. You get it. Might not understand it yet. But still get never the less.
I'd recommend "The greatest show on earth" from them. It really is a breathtaking SHOW. But it has to be the live version from Tampere, Finland. It's the only right way to go.
This whole concert is just amazing, every song is greater than the other and you will be amazed. Check out Dark Chest Of Wonders, the song the whole conxert starts with. Great reaction and Floor really is Nightwish sound and voice.
Oof... Finland this time of the year/season is the source of how so much death metal music is produced here, but at least you got the right antidote in your ears playing 😉
@ssc00p if the UK was as cold is your country is this time of year, I'm sure there would be serious competition on how much metal music was being produced. Maybe the roaring throats help keep you guys warm 🤔 I've not long arrived and it's sooo cold!
Nightwish has made their own version of Snowman, Walking in the air. It's a masterpiece, sang by Tarja Turunen, you should definitely hear that one too!!
2 songs - 2 different sides of Nightwish. Are you ready for a slightly heavier, but beautiful, song? Then I would like to recommend Romanticide to you. You can also hear Marco (bass) singing for the first time, as well as a mega guitar solo by Emppu. From the same concert, of course.
10 songs ten different sides, I never tire of Nightwish music, every song I hear I think yes my favourite, until I hear the next. I cannot choose, all different but all are mesmerising. I never switch off NW songs but listen to the end and ever time I hear something different even after hearing for the umpteenth time.
I have seen this song multiple times live also and it always gets me how much energy everyone puts in it. It's impossible not to headbang and scream with her🖤😁🤘🏼
I was there.... and it is a night I will remember for the rest of my life. It was one of those nights where everything falls right into place, a magical night. 🤘 Top 3 concerts of my life, alongside with Queen back in 1986 and TOOL.

Glad you are enjoying this old concert. You say "she sounds like a lead singer"..... well - yes - she has been a lead singer since she joined After Forever aged 16!
As a Hearts supporter now living in North America I'll forgive you for that Ibrox sign on your shelf 😅. Seriously though, welcome to the Nightwish rabbithole!

me, a Nightwish fan for over 22 years i enjoyed nightwish becoming a thing to react to about 2-3 years ago i watch your channel now for 6-12 months ❤Now i love to see that you discovered them as well and am looking foreward to each and every song you might gonna react to. Your joy and excitement feels so genuine and i can see myself in it and how it felt to hear those songs for the first (few) time(s). thank you for bringing back those emotions of first time experiancing it! It might be interesting for you to hear "Nightwish - The Phantom Of The Opera (OFFICIAL LIVE)" live from the 2005 end of an era tour with their first leadsinger Tarja to see where they came from. Also the song is a classic and a total banger wich gets even better because we all kinda know the original song from the musical. Needless to say Nightwish made that song next level. Also there is a version of that song from Floor at "beste zangers" from 2019 wich had gone completely viral. Good oppertunity to hear them side by side and hear how different and similar they are. maybe even in a singular reactionvideo each after anoher? (just dont rate them or pick a favorite. they are both great and many fans might have a favorite, so you dont wanna hurt anybody 😉)
Although I am totally sold on Floor as a vocalist and cannot really listen to the previous vocalists it is worth acknowledging their contribution. Tarja Turunen sang on the first 5 albums and was a huge influence on Tuomas Holopainen the keyboardist and composer which is why they are all written for an operatic style of voice including Ghost Love Score to which Floor added grit and versatility. The second singer Anette Olzon was a pop singer who struggled to sing Tarja's songs but allowed Tuomas to write two albums in a different style hence Storytime where Floor was able to sing the middle operatic section and not rely on a recording. Every song at this concert was written for those previous singers and virtually everyone in the crowd, except a few naysayers, heard Nightwish taken to another level.
the quality of every band members skill is immense. but floor is a monumental performer. her voice is beyond outstanding and her charisma and stamina on stage are incredible. she has complete control over a crowd of 70.000 people. to keep up as a singer with music this big and cinematic is very, very hard to do.
I've been watching/listening the Wacken 2013 songs 100+ times and they get beter and better every time. I never get tired to Wacken concert. I envy those 82.000, who were there then. 🤘🤘🤘
heart of Nightwish, Tuomas, is a genuine artist. I have meet him many times and he is a great person. My all time Nightwish songs are tarja turunen song nemo, marco i wish i had an angel.... so much best music before sport and training
The Eagles have a song " One of these nights" And on August 3,2013 the Nightwish Wacken open Air concert was just that, everything came together as it should be, to make it a perfect magical performance. The audiance, the high expectations from the big fanbase to hear Floor life for the first time with nightwish, her taking the audiance in the palm of her hand from the first Song on, the Summer night time, the weather, the pyro, the lighteffects , the stage, the videowall, the band as a whole, every performer on his/her own very high level, the sound mixing, the setlist....I can go on and on and on. it was a once in a lifetime moment.
As you have discovered, Floor is an Enchantress. The exploration of Nightwish is a journey that will enthrall you like no other. There is so much variety and so many nuances to their music ... and their live performances are, in my opinion, simply breathtaking. Listening to, and especially watching Nightwish, I'm usually either grinning like a maniac or wiping a tear from my eye. No recommendations from me, you can't go wrong following Gabriel's advice. Enjoy the journey, as a new subscriber, I will watch on with interest. All the very best from the Canberra Regiment, Australian Division, Nightwish Army.
I am so envious of you. Continue the Nightwish journey. I wish I could get selective amnesia and experience all of their music for the first time again.
Sounds like you are from Glasgow/ West Coast - as an Ayrshire man I love your honest and heartfelt reaction. Liked and subscribed, take care bro and looking forward to many more reactions 😀
The one thing that makes Nightwish hit so hard live, besides the incredible amount of talent on stage, is how much fun they have. It translates to the audience so well. Keep on this journey, you will not be sorry. 😊
Since discovering this band only a few years ago I can't go a day without listening to them and especially Floor. That said, if you like The Snowman then do listen to Nightwish with original singer Tarja's stunningly beautiful version of Walking In The Air.
I am at Nightwish concerts every time the band comes to my country and every single time it is an incredible experience. It's like being on a roller coaster throughout all the show and the quality of the concerts is always very high. Nightwish never disappoints.
ปีที่แล้ว +3
I saw them live in Sweden in the summer of 2012, then with the second singer Anette, and latest one was this summer in Stockholm with a pregnant Floor delivering as usual a 2 hour show like a Valkyrie Queen.
You are spot - Tuomas the writer and composer, are a real genius at the same level as the big ones like Mozart, Bach etc etc. And Floor - well you have still not experienced more than 10% of her capabilities - you just keep going - she will blow your mind. Imagine being a songwriter and composer of Tuomas's caliber, and then realize that you will never more have amy kind of limitations!!!! That's Nightwish from October 2012....
Where much music (metal or other) is formulatic (guitar riffs and drum solos) Nightwish is anything but. Everyone does what is needed without having to be the “star”. Floor may be the front person and perceived as the star but she totally realizes and appreciates that it is the presence of all of them performing together at the very highest level that creates the Nightwish vibe and excellence. The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible Absolutely kickass. Jukka in “Beast Mode” …….as usual🤘
WELL, As a Canadian I have watched your reactions before about my country. I am a huge "Nightwish" fan so have now subscribed. Gabriel is your best source for info and I know you will enjoy the ride. In case you did not know Floor is married to the drummer in a group called "Sabaton" a must watch group as well.
Hey mate, one of your channel visitors from the German channel here. Nightwish are probably THE most influental export from Finland at all. Tuomas is called the metal Mozart for a reason, they are just that good. Not to mention the fact that good old Floor is probably one of the best female voices in the world. So keep soldiering on, their whole repertoire is worth watching!
nice one, thank you ( and choose more from General Gabriel's list) And "Floor" is pronounce like the floor ; the ground/bottom in engl. and means Flower in dutch ( she jokes about that and as a " FloorFan" 🤣 we do that too ; She has a huge sence of humor)
I loved your reaction. It does my heart good to see how happy the music makes you. Every musician in this band is a master. Tuomas, the keyboardist, is the Metal Mozart, who composes and arranges 95% of their music. You have so much more, and different, music to listen to. Why, you haven't even heard Marko, the bassist, sing yet. Just keep following Gabriel's list and you will have so many wonderful discoveries ahead.
one of my favourite reactors discovers one of my favourite bands. Cant wait to see your reaction to "the greatest show on earth". Just a Masterpiece about evolution
Nightwish actually has an amazing version of Walking in the air! It's with their old (first) singer Tarja, I recommend checking that out, maybe a studio version is better but Tarja has also great live performances - for examaple Phantom of the opera. I really love and enjoy your reactions, they give me a big smile so thank you! :)
Mad respect for Jukka considering the complexity of the timing in all of the Nightwish songs and to remember all of them and deliver like he does, LIVE......!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The funny thing is... at that moment at the Wacken festival, she was "merely" the substitute for their previous singer. While the band was in mid-tour, Annette (their singer at that time) fell seriously ill and couldn't continue the tour. Floor was flown in on a very short notice, so understandably all the songs that she sang weren't 'her' songs. Neither were they written to match her voice and style. So, as versatile as Floor could be, she matched her voice and style to the songs. Not long after, she was made a permanent member, including Troy, their multi-instrumentalist. You will see more from him in the continuation of your Nightwish journey.
Floor is a very special woman. Our Queen, Valkyrie Goddess of Metal, never fails to impress. Though she is modest and says of course she is not a machine; at times when sick will sing off key or with less power, but, she always gives us her all. She sings and feels the music to her soul.
Another Nightwish fan here. My all time favorite is the first song I ever heard from them, the Sleeping Sun. But I am thoroughly enjoying ALL what they have ever produced. Nice to see, that you have found your way to enjoy this music, too! 👍 I have seen them live in Helsinki.
Wow Mert Fin. A Finnish middle aged male here. I have watched your quality clips about many countries, included Finland. Still, this how I see your honest joy of this video just have to subscribe. Keep good content coming. U seem to be great guy.👍🏻🤟
The company I work for is fully remote. This can make getting to know each other challenging. The company uses a service called Know Your Team to mitigate this. A while back, we were all asked: If you could go back in time to witness some event, what would it be? For me, it is the Nightwish show at Wacken 2013. Fans who were there are truly blessed. It was a magical moment in music history. Luckily it was professionally captured on DVD, like lightning in a bottle, for us all to enjoy forever.
Ah... You're just getting started. It's a very deep rabbit-hole!!! And I know you're supposed to be learning about Finland, but you must also take a detour to the Netherlands to see more of Floor Jansen. I only found Nightwish and Floor Jansen last November and just missed the chance to see NW in Birmingham, but next time they're in travelling distance, I will be there. *Almost* got to see Floor Jansen in Bloemendaal in July on her solo tour, but she had to cancel due to exhaustion. Which is fair enough as she was heavily pregnant and had been performing non-stop since November last year with both Nightwish and also promoting her new solo album, having just returned from surgery for breast cancer. She's a machine, but ultimately a human one!
Incidentally, Nightwish has the most beautiful version of *Walking in the Air* from the Snowman by their first lead singer Tarja. I can't recommend that song enough since you love the animation, but unlike with the more recent Nightwish, I recommend listening to the studio version Nightwish didn't start putting focus and resources into live performances until Imaginerium era around 2011, and anything before that is usually better as a studio version, apart from a few specific live shows. There are a lot of practical reasons for this, that I won't go into here to keep the comment reasonably short
I actually prefer the live version from From Wishes to Eternity to the album version, but maybe as that was the first time I saw them live was during that tour? It is also fun to see "Babywish" but either/or would be fine by me 🤣
@@mnewm21 Yes, Wishes to Eternity is one of the exceptions mentioned, End of an Era as well, and one more early Tarja era show that I can't remember now
Tuomas plays the keyboards. Jukka plays the drums. Marko plays the bass. Emppu plays the guitar. Floor plays the audience. Like a fiddle.
Like Freddie, when he was asked which instrument he likes to play the most, he said "the audience darling, the audience."
Tuomas drinks the wine, Emppu drinks the Corona….
TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN. Genius has written so magical music.
I'm glad you decided to continue reacting to Nightwish's music. Thanks for a nice shout-out - of course you have a new subscriber here.

You're Scotish... islander could suit you too... both... concert & official video
I am from Newfoundland and a Nightwish fan so now I have no choice but to subscribe. Continue your Nightwish journey. They do not disappoint.
The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible
Absolutely kickass. Jukka in “Beast Mode” …….as usual🤘
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting.
I guess Andy Murray needed a new career after tennis. I see you Andy.
I was at Wembley 2015.
"It's more than music, it's an experience..." Yep, that's Nightwish.
Hey Mert, this is something special, something else. Nightwish are magical mesmerising musical magicians. 🤘🇳🇱🫡
So keep soldiering on, their whole repertoire is worth watching!
nice one, thank you ( and choose more from General Gabriel's list)
And "Floor" is pronounce like the floor ; the ground/bottom in engl. and means Flower in dutch
( she jokes about that and as a " FloorFan" 🤣 we do that too ; She has a huge sence of humor)
Ever Dream (Official Live) next? 😏
What a brilliant reaction! You are so right, adrenaline inducing, happy crying, all's good in the world when you listen to this.. just perfect 💗
one of my favourite reactors discovers one of my favourite bands. Cant wait to see your reaction to "the greatest show on earth". Just a Masterpiece about evolution
What a joyous reaction, thank you so much! 🤘
They call that reaction Floorgasm and. the band is called Nightwish army. Yes, As a finn I have seen them live. They are amazing!❤
Top 10 greatest band ever! Floor's voice is angelic 😍
Metal equals happiness!
Metalhead since -88
Thanks
Saw them at Gelsenkirchen amphitheater. I am still high on adrenalin from clapping and rocking.
That shivering feeling, leaving you happy - it's called floorgasm 😂
So great to see the joy on your face listening to Floor. I feel ya!
There's so much more! Love following you on your journey 😃
What a lovely reaction. I feel Nightwish are so very special and you've actually come close to describing that indescribable feeling. Thank you.
I can't recommend that song enough since you love the animation, but unlike with the more recent Nightwish, I recommend listening to the studio version
Nightwish didn't start putting focus and resources into live performances until Imaginerium era around 2011, and anything before that is usually better as a studio version, apart from a few specific live shows. There are a lot of practical reasons for this, that I won't go into here to keep the comment reasonably short
I actually prefer the live version from From Wishes to Eternity to the album version, but maybe as that was the first time I saw them live was during that tour? It is also fun to see "Babywish" but either/or would be fine by me 🤣
@@mnewm21 Yes, Wishes to Eternity is one of the exceptions mentioned, End of an Era as well, and one more early Tarja era show that I can't remember now
I love your reactions in scottish from Malaysia . Greetings from nwAse Sweden
