Hello Heidi [ HailHeidi ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community 🤘
@@steamroller1977 Each of us has our own preference for one or another of the 3 singers, but if we take a step back and look at the beauty and stylistic diversity of their entire activity over the last quarter of a century, I think the most appropriate answer is deep respect. Do you know that a girl from Nigeria (ujunwa mercy) is reacting to the whole "From Wishes To Eternity" concert these days, song by song? She already reacted to the first 5 songs from the concert during the week. I was happy like a child, me, a declared fan of Floor!..
The thing is she can do it all from operatic to a low or high belt to pop to rock to growling and not just do it, she can do it ALL in one song. She is just something absolutely out of this world and I'm glad she landed in metal where she can do it all. And this is a live performance as is.
@@whoyell2888 Floor is still out there though, doing her thing. Your comment kinda makes me wish that she'd get involved in a band like Black Sabbath. She'd do great.
Most of us Americans didn't know about Nightwish. Welcome to the adventure. Amazing band. Amazing vocalist. Amazing songs. They are one of the few bands that are better LIVE than studio productions. Stay with this concert and get to know the band. No two songs are the same. All are great. EVER DREAM, STORYTIME, ROMANTACIDE. Those should help you into the rabbit hole. Greetings from Maine, USA.
I had the chance to see them tour the US following the release of Endless Forms. It was amazing, and that was without all their show tech. I wish they would come back to my area again.
@@joelbouchey I didn't find them until 2020. Bought tickets for their concert. Went thru2 show cancellations due to Covid, and finally got to see them in 2022 in NYC. Only regret was that Marko had left the band, but they were fantastic. If they tour the US again, I will be there!!
such a true statement. i only found out about them as a kid in 04~ because i gamed with a bunch of europeans. i know the song 'wishmaster' kind of hit it off in meme videos around that time too. around 2015 i saw this guy at work with a nightwish shirt on and was completely blown away. reaction vids like this are really helping to spread awareness to the band here though and it's awesome to see
This is in fact the thirteenth song of this concert and the songs vary in style. Worth watching the opening song Dark Chest Of Wonders which was the first experience for most of the 82,000 crowd of Floor Jansen singing with Nightwish. She replaced the second singer, Anette Olzon, mid tour in the USA. And had only recently returned to Europe. They reintroduced this song as Floor loved it and could sing it unlike the previous pop style singer. She does give it more vocal colours than the first singer Tarja Turunen who is predominantly operatic in style. By the way, Floor Jansen has her own TH-cam channel where she does some excellent covers, chats and vocal coaching and has just released a very different solo album called Paragon.
I started listening to symphonic metal back in early 00s around the time wishmaster came out, because I love opera and I love metal. Anette is not in the same leauge as Tarja. But by all means, I undrestand some likes her - but to me she was nightwish. But many great opera-ish singers, like Melissa Ferlaak and Lori Lewis to take two.
@@GeirEivindMork having heard Floor sing opera, O Mio Babbino Caro for example, I prefer her tone and diction to Tarja. This is only a personal taste and we each listen for something else in our singers.
The thing is... of all their years and concerts with Tarja and great songs they (or mainly Tuomas and Marko) wrote, after parting with both Tarja and Anette, Fans didn't expect too much from Nightwish anymore. I also grew up with Nightwish through my fathers music-taste since 2001. THIS first concert with Floor at Wacken was not just relief for the fans, it probably was the best concert the band ever played before and after. This was so pure, so full of love and respect for the bands history, Floor making a clear statement of not imitating any previous singer but letting her own style flow into each performance. I personally never "felt" Nightwish-Songs as much as with this concert.
I agree. I think there are a few songs that they have performed better at other shows (not ghost love score) but as a concert as a whole, this is unsurpassed.
The latest tour, the first one after the whole corona debacle where their concert kept being pushed back.... The very first night, in Amsterdam, ziggo dome.... Was absolutely magical. It was as if they had so much pent up musical energy that just needed to burst out to the crowd :D And we got the duet with Henk port for phantom of the opera :D brilliant.
Did you feel it in your inner core? Did it go through you like a warm knife through fresh butter? That feeling of crying, that's called a Floorgasm. Congratulations! Yes, you got your first Floorgasm ever.
Emppu is one of my favorite guitarists ever. He is there to play what is needed and have fun while doing so. His ego isn't so fragile that he has need to show off if song doesn't warrant for it. He could, he has the skills. And it's pretty cute when he doesn't have much or anything to play at any given moment, he goes around stage checking how everyone is feeling.
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. And the master of this magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people. The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. We hope, that there is more coming. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
There have been three singers with Nightwish. The first one is called Tarja( Tarya) Turunen. The 2nd singer is called Anette Olzon and ofcourse the 3rd and current singer Floor Jansen. Greetings from The Netherlands
Heidi, Floor Jansen studied at the conservatory of the Netherlands, Rockmusic AND classic music. She is a Soprano and can reach very deep down too. Floor is not a tiny woman. she is without shoes 6,1 ft. tall and with her high heels she is 6,5 ft. She works out daily and trains her breath like a apnoe diver (no air tanks), to have enough stamina for a 2 hour concert. Elmar from Germany
I'm so happy that you've now discovered Nightwish. Check out their live performances and you'll know why they're so popular. At each concert, they take you by the hand and take you into a unique and beautiful world of sounds and magical moments. You will often cry because you will be completely overwhelmed by this real beauty. For me, Nightwish is not only the best band in the world, it's also the band with a fantastic fan connection.
Hi Heidi! I was always a bit of a philistine about music. I thought: "If it was good it would be in a movie soundtrack." I stopped listening to the radio in the mid 90's as more and more music became covers of old songs or artificially created girl or boy bands. The entire 21st Century seemed like a musical desert to me. The only popuar music I heard was from primarily English speaking sources, mostly US and British.I did not hear Nightwish until 2019, and was blown away by the band's tight skill in live performance. I was equally blown away by the voice of the Valkyrie Goddess, Floor Jansen. I spent the next few months going down inter related rabbit holes: Sabaton, Epica, Auri, Ayreon, MaYan, Blind Guardian, the many works of Marcela Bovio... I was stunned that I had lived so long unaware of any of this genius. Nightwish remains my favourite, even though they introduced me to Symphonic Metal, they literally transcend genre. There is no style of music they cannot excel in. As yet, I have never seen them live (and it hurts to have missed Marko,) but it has become a life goal for me. When I started listening to Nightwish on TH-cam, Ann Waychoff was still around in every comments section, kindly and patiently educating people. I never directly interacted with her, but I was shocked and saddened to hear of her death within a few months. Gabriel inherited her role as chief tireless cheerleader of the Nightwish Army (I would not be surprised if he beats me here!) who provides an excellent infodump and suggested listening guide to introduce you to Nightwish.
“The greatest show on earth” is another great musical score they have and live is the best it’s truly a masterpiece. But this is called a score because it’s like a movie theme that is a score where you can feel the emotions through the instruments alone but you also get Floor’s vocals also which can also put in the same feels as the music
Hello Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. And they make Symphonic Metal. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. There were 82,000 people there. I happily refer you to Gabriel Bardac's comment (he'll be here soon) for a list with lots of song suggestion. Watch out for the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Great #reaction, love the outflow of emotion you show HH! The 2:1 video screen split seems to be perfect, I've watched the 8:1 split on Greatest Show, and although you do see "more of Floor" with that, I can always watch the original if I'm Floor-gazing. I want to share in the effect the music has on the reviewer.
welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive). this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream" this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).
So glad you rediscovered Nightwish with the third and best singer Floor Jansen. Don’t worry it’s not uncommon to have such an emotional response to this song. If you continue your Nightwish journey, and I sincerely hope you do, then you have so much to look forward to. Greetings from the UK.
Amateur doctor here: you're tearing up because your mind and body like it. Music has that ability to affect you like that. Emotions at work. :-) Sadly, I have not had the fortune of attending that concert of theirs.
Ahhhhhhhh I have watched a bunch of your videos and did not think you did music videos. So this was a pleasant surprise. This will be fun to watch. Nightwish Army from Sweden reporting for duty. And the Nightwish army will come. Trust me. I can hear the stomping sound as I write.
This is an amazing song. I used to listen to Nightwish a lot about 20 years ago (until Tarja left) and picked them up again like 5-6 years ago. Floor joined in the meantime (2012 if I'm not mistaken). They kicked Anette (second vocalist) out during their world tour and asked Floor to fill in. She had to fly to the US and was learning the songs in the plane, she had 48 hours to do so before the next concert. After the tour she joined the band permanently. To me, a great move. I loved Tarja but to me Floor has the best suiting voice for Nightwish, because she can both go operatic and full on rock/metal with her voice. Tarja was a bit better at the operatic part, but was lacking in the other department in my opinion 😀 This song always gets me at 8:51 with the switch, and with the high note at the end. It's such a rollercoaster to go through 😁 Be ready to be bombarded by the Nightwish Army now by the way, they'll be incoming soon 😉
20 years ago I loved Nightwish for their composition and music, I loved After Forever for their singer. Floor joining Nightwish was a dream come true, although it came true late, since like you I only picked up on Nightwish again 5 years ago or so.
Tarja is good singer (classic vocal) but damn she is afull as actress, her scene presense has nothing connected with the band or with the songs, she looks like a witch at shabash or angry bitch (nonpaid)
I never heard of Nightwish until last year. I have to admit that this song and the whole Wacken concert is definitely the best Live music event I have ever seen on DVD/TH-cam in my life (50+). It is stunning on every level, the energy of the audience, the musicians, the sound, and mostly the voice and charisma of Floor. Never seen/heard anything like it.....why are they not even more famous ?
Yes!! Greetings from Finland. Been watching your videos and like the open views on things. Now you just discovered something that can change the way you hear music from now on.
The fun thing is as a huge Nightwish and Floor fan it always makes me cry seeing people react to it this way😅. Hope you gonna explore more of Nightwish and its def worth the time to check this complete concert 😁
Glad you decided to react to this band ,Yes this is with their 3rd singer Floor Jansen,a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast..They’re definitely a band that are better live, their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock, folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between, hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍(13th song out of 15)
Hi Heidi 👍🏼 Woow so happy that you react to🎶 NIGHTWISH "Ghost love score" 🎶And WELCOME to the Symphonic Metal Music 🎶 i hope GABRIEL BARDAC sending youw blue strips soon 👍🏼 Gabriels know what you need to hear about this Nightwish Journey hi is just the best... All Nightwish songs are different in style and performing i remember my best Nightwish song was always the last one i listening to...hope you have time to get one Nightwish song every week..but i know that your interest is over the worldwide...i look at your last as was about THE FINNISH WIFE RACE and it was really fun react video...👍🏼👏👏👏🇸🇪❤️🇺🇲❤️🇸🇪👏👏👏👍🏼
Haha, l knew this was coming. Welcome to the magical world of symphonic metal and Nightwish. This is one of the most epic live performances EVER. So, glad you liked and greetings from Finland! ⛄❄👍
Hi Heidi. Great reaction. Dont worry about tearing up. Thats called a floorgasm. Ive watched this song reacted to 100 times and more. I tear up watching people tear up. And im a stone cold 58 year old analyst
Greetings Heidi. Sweet, sweet reaction. If it makes you feel better, Floor did a reaction to this exact performance and wouldn't you know it..... Our queen cried as well after that last belt. But your journey just started, you're going to love it. The rabbit hole goes deep, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. Follow Gabriel as he will be your guide. He will leave you an easy to follow blueprint into your Nightwish adventure.
best face expressions to a ghost love score reaction haha. loved it. I always tear up during that song. I went to over 400 concerts in the past and kinda always ignored nightwish. probably cause I didnt like the previous singers and I never noticed when floor joined the band. so I first saw their videos in 2020, shame on me xD
Nightwish Army Germany reports for Duty: What you should do: Listen to Gabriel. He knows. Great Reaction !! I think our Queen captured another soul….:-) It never gets old to see people freeze when our Queen starts to sing…. About Ghost Love Score: Standing solid as a World Pillar around which the planet revolves, Floor hits "The Note," the crowd loses their shit, the band tears a hole in the fabric of Space-Time, and 82,000 people will never, ever be the same again. Floor Jansen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Valkyries and Stonehenge, Lady of Nightwish and Protector of our Metal Realm. Long may she reign. Bow, mortal !
I watched some of your videos already and now you're reacting to my favorite band? Guess I'll have to subscribe then. A classic follow up for the next song would be Storytime from the same concert.
Yes, indeed the first Nightwish experience, this very first song also makes me emotional. It grab me and never let loose no more. Now since 3 years A fan for live, even at 63 years old.
There's a scientific reason behind the goosebumps some get, and also the sudden urge to shed tears. It'll only happen to people who are truly listening, and not distracted. Having a decent set of earphones definitely helps lol The sonic avalanche in the last minute or so is usually where it really hits. It is SUCH a rush, and it doesn't happen often. Just like some people can hit notes that can shatter glass, some singers sing in such a way that just weaves into your very soul. It's unnerving, but wonderful at the same time. It's not hard to tell that she really loves this song, and puts everything she has into it. The sign of a great singer isn't the notes they hit. It's the ability to make you feel what they feel.
9:26 This *BAND* is an experience. All their songs are like this. Thats not to say they all sound the same, they absolutely do not. But theyre all unique, epic and larger than life. Every time you hear a Nightwish song for the first time there is always something with that makes you go "wow, ive never seen anyone else do that" Ive been a fan since 1996 and I still think that sometimes.
I've been watching and enjoying your channel for a while now. You have now made my day by being the latest reactor to this amazing band. So as a member of the Nightwish army, I will post my usual greeting. Watch out for Gabriel's post. He will suggest many more songs. Welcome to the wonderful diverse world of Nightwish. UK Oldies Division of Nightwish army here. Hope you'll keep on watching and listening. Especially their live recordings. I saw them live at Wembley in November 2022 and it was the most amazing experience. To hear more from them, I suggest you follow Gabriel's list or pick and mix from it. I have followed Nightwish for some time now and have just about every Nightwish recording, live and studio and not a single track I don't like.
11:37 The Floorgasm brings yet another convert to the family !! 😁 Welcome Sister. You’re one of us now. Just FYI, that’s about 70 minutes into the show, and Floor had been killin’ it the whole way already. Also, that’s 82 THOUSAND people hanging on her every word; so, no pressure on her to Bury that (9 second long)high note.... At 6’1 and 170 pounds Floor is a smiling, singing, dancing, enchanting, stage commanding Valkyrie Goddess, and to me at least, a gift from above. Seeing the whole video of this concert, Especially the Floorgasm changed my life. It made me start listening to music again. I love watching these reaction videos and my biggest hope is that people follow and enjoy the Symphonic Metal path I was led to. Welcome to it. A breathtaking masterpiece sung by a Valkyrie Goddess… or what Nightwish thinks of as just another day. 💙💙💙All Hail Floor !! 💙💙💙 Infantryman-Nightwish Army. US Regiment. I'm the type of dude that 1000 years ago would have been Viking my way across Europe or fighting the Romans 2000 years ago and this song make my eyes well up half the time I hear it. I get so fired up and feel so much emotion from everyone that I dont think my body knows what to do so it's like "here, lets just make him cry." Then it's time for Rammstein and wood chopping.
You cried because you had your first ( of many ) Floorgsm. Nightwish Army guy in So Cal saying thank you. Look forward to your next reactiun, Welcome and enjoy your journey. Be well.
13th song of 15 that night. Powerful, majestic, anthemic, atmospheric, bombastic and fantastic! Tarja was the first singer (Sang "Paradise" with Within Temptation - great song and great band!), Anette was the second and Floor Jansen is the third and final female singer. Welcome to Nightwish. Nighwish Army, Blue Mountains Corps, Australia. Nightwish since 1996. Everybody loves Emppu Vuorinen, THE Electric Hobbit (only 5'3"), on guitar - that purple EV-1 ESP is his signature guitar for a long time now (also see his work with another band "Brother Firetribe" - like a Finnish Bon Jovi!). Tuomas Holopainen on keys is the Metal Mozart - composer and arranger for the orchestral backing as well as the most of their songs. Jukka Nevalainen on drums, Marko Hietala on bass and vocals (for other songs)...... and (not on stage here for this song) Troy Donockley - a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist too!..... Nice Floorgasm!
Great reaction, Heidi. And a warm welcome to the magical world of Nightwish. All the feelings and emotions that you will experience are quite normal for normal people when they hear the call of the Valkyrie, Queen Floor. She touches every single soul. This is the journey of a lifetime. Enjoy 🤘🫡 Greetings from the Netherlands, the Hague
This was at Wacken which is not only the name of the biggest metal festival in Europe, but also of the little village where the festival takes place which has less than 1000 habitants. This song was the 13th of a 15 songs set-list they performed in front of 82,000 people on a cow pasture in the north of Germany.
NW Army Derbyshire UK here. Welcome Heidi, to Nightwish. Your reaction to GLS was wonderfully satisfying, and the feelings you had will return with more exposure to our Dutch Valkyrie Warrioress, Floor Jansen (pronounced 'Yan-sen') along with the other members of Nightwish, so be prepared and don't hold back. This band should always be listened to live, they are masters of their crafts and perform best in front of an army. I'm looking forward to more reactions, new subscriber here. 🍻 (Gabriels list is a very well laid out introduction to the bands scope and you'll get the best links to the quality live NW videos that potential subcribers will likely prefer) Have a great evening 🤘🙂
I`m so happy you loved this! You`ll for sure enjoy watching and listening more of this awesome band! 🤘🏼About Wacken, I think you mentioned that you`re going to Germany this year, and Wacken is for sure one of the very best Metal Festivals to og to.
This song and performance has brought me to tears many times..it is an amazing thing, as you note, and an occurrence that is hard to explain....something about the melody and her abundant vocal abilities, I have to think. Thanks for your great and candid reaction!
Another Soul Snatched by the Valkyrie Goddess . " why did i start friggin crying " ? Well Floors voice does that to a whole bunch of people, than you add that incredible music behind it and you're done . You want to continue this Nightwish reaction journey ? of course you do , well all you have to do is search in the comment section for Gabriel Bardac's name ( He's The General of the most passionate Army youll ever encounter ) and youll be fine like wine .
Great reaction, and I especially liked your comments about guitarist Emppu Vuorinen. You're spot-on in your observation that he loves the music and his playing serves the song. Never flashy unless the song calls for it, he's a real virtuoso guitarist and can really shred when he needs to. Everybody loves Emppu, he's a fun loving, pick-tossing, beer-drinking guy who almost always has a smile on his face. His antics are hilarious, and he's never in one place very long and likes to run around the stage. He's also a notorious prankster and in one video from this Wacken 2013 concert (during "I Want My Tears Back") he sneaks up behind Floor and unplugs her in-ear monitors. In other performances of that same song Floor often plays a cat and mouse game with him and tries to corner him and get him to dance with her, but he always seems to escape (although I have seen him in one concert do a few seconds of "the swim" with her when he couldn't get away). And you noticed another of this trademarks as he often touches his band mates on the arm or hand during performances in a reassurance of unity and affection.
Floor is the only vocalist that can head bang and make you cry all in the same song! She's just simply incredible. Welcome to the world of Nightwish. Enjoy the ride !
Hallo, great reaction. As an old Nightwish fan I'm always that a new fan is enjoying their fantastic music. I really loved your appreciation for the guitarist. Empuu is a great guitarist and always gives what the song needs without the need to show off. Hope you really continue your journey into the Nightwish rabbit hole
HailHeidi Middle aged man from Finland here. I love your style, your haircut You are one heck of a package of beauty, healthy doze of energy and positivity. Your husband or boyfriend is a lucky man. Keep up the good work. I subscribed earlier allready. Thank you for your work. I am just rediscover of NW and fall in love to them after so many years. I really had start to appreciate Tuomas and his mindset. And one reason have been that I have learned from finnish media what an classy good guy he is. He do many good things here in Finland. Nightwish is even long time sponsor of Kitee's (NW's original hometown where he lives currently with his girlfriend/wife) local baseball team (finnish baseball "pesäpallo". Translate is literally 'base ball'. Its Finland's national sport) and have been spotted many times in audience, sitting like a normal jack middle of everybody, just want see the game. Pesäpallo unfortunately is not so huge sport in Finland anymore, like football/soccer, but Ice-hockey being the absolute nr1. I think he just want to give his support and respect to his small home town, and support legacy of pesäpallo. Good guy.
Every NightWish song is a master piece, also its not a falsetto that she does, its a head voice. Big difference..also you are so correct when you said that this song is an experience...Its a voyage at sea where 10 thousand sirens sing at the same time and create amazing musical waves
Nightwish army Dutch Legion, South-West division reporting in from the Netherlands. Glad you you liked it. That tearing/smiling/hard the explain feeling, was a Floorgasm (yes, the official term) and your soul being handed over to our Valkyrie Goddess of metal. Best tip I can give you after hearing Floor singing for over 20 years... Just give up/let go.. let her control your emotions and drift along. Enjoy the ride!
It is always great stuff to see someone experience their first 'Floorgasm'
Normal response. Floor can make grown men cry.

The one where you cry after but don't feel bad about it
Hello Heidi [ HailHeidi ] !
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community

All three singers were/are just divine... But Tarja was a bit better than her successors... My opinion.
Rapid si eficient, ca intodeauna... :D O zi buna, General! 🤘

It’s ok. None of us can speak after. It’s that beautiful and draining. Hence the “-gasm”.
Floor has such an emotion evoking voice. The magic of Nightwish is boundless.
The thing is she can do it all from operatic to a low or high belt to pop to rock to growling and not just do it, she can do it ALL in one song. She is just something absolutely out of this world and I'm glad she landed in metal where she can do it all.
And this is a live performance as is.
Except, they(Nightwish) are going to have unknown length of sabbath.
@@whoyell2888 Floor is still out there though, doing her thing.
Your comment kinda makes me wish that she'd get involved in a band like Black Sabbath. She'd do great.
I wish Marco would come back
Most of us Americans didn't know about Nightwish.
If they tour the US again, I will be there!!
such a true statement. i only found out about them as a kid in 04~ because i gamed with a bunch of europeans. i know the song 'wishmaster' kind of hit it off in meme videos around that time too. around 2015 i saw this guy at work with a nightwish shirt on and was completely blown away. reaction vids like this are really helping to spread awareness to the band here though and it's awesome to see
All they know is Rihanna, and Britney Spears
@@ekkanofiqandriyana7325 We now know The Warning too!!!
Floor has the ability to bring the emotion out of Nightwish's music like no other.
Recently got Floor's Paragon CD. I've already lost count of how many times I've played it.
hey clive
@@MegaDog555 hi to you.
I personally never "felt" Nightwish-Songs as much as with this concert.
well said! True!
I agree. I think there are a few songs that they have performed better at other shows (not ghost love score) but as a concert as a whole, this is unsurpassed.
imho, if floor didn't come along , they would have stopped.
The latest tour, the first one after the whole corona debacle where their concert kept being pushed back.... The very first night, in Amsterdam, ziggo dome.... Was absolutely magical. It was as if they had so much pent up musical energy that just needed to burst out to the crowd :D
And we got the duet with Henk port for phantom of the opera :D brilliant.
Every Nightwish song is an experience.
Empuu is an excellent guitarist. He plays exactly what the song needs. Excellent reaction!🎸🤘
Did you feel it in your inner core? Did it go through you like a warm knife through fresh butter? That feeling of crying, that's called a Floorgasm. Congratulations! Yes, you got your first Floorgasm ever.
It's such a delight to see genuine enjoyment from a reactor. I am glad you liked it. Welcome to Nightwish.
Totally agree my friend, he is awesome. Even with his rythm playing alone, his riffs are so tight and his solos are just perfect note by note!
Great description.....
Heidi is reaction to my fav Metalband with the most awesome Singer on planet? yay
Yeah, maybe she then also discovers Lovebites, Epica and Within Temptation in the Future. Mabye also Ad Infinitum 😄🤘🏼
@@beldin2987 Or she finds on her Journey Blind Guardian, Floor Jansen Solo, Anneke van Gierbergen, Brothers of Metal.. so many many to mention
And the master of this magic is:
Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish)
Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics.

When you are feeling things you cannot explain, that is called a Floorgasm...
There have been three singers with Nightwish. The first one is called Tarja( Tarya) Turunen. The 2nd singer is called Anette Olzon and ofcourse the 3rd and current singer Floor Jansen. Greetings from The Netherlands
This is Nightwish and tearing up yep she does that to a lot of people she sings straight to your soul

Her voice live sticks in your soul. It's so chilling live. Floor is a giant goddess.
I concur
“The greatest show on earth” is another great musical score they have and live is the best it’s truly a masterpiece. But this is called a score because it’s like a movie theme that is a score where you can feel the emotions through the instruments alone but you also get Floor’s vocals also which can also put in the same feels as the music
The greatest show on earth is amazing. But the video has to be the Tampere, Finland live.
Hello
Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands.
You're crying in the End is what we call "Floorgasm"
Great #reaction, love the outflow of emotion you show HH!
The 2:1 video screen split seems to be perfect, I've watched the 8:1 split on Greatest Show, and although you do see "more of Floor" with that, I can always watch the original if I'm Floor-gazing. I want to share in the effect the music has on the reviewer.
welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive).
this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream"
this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).
I cry every time I watch someone experience Nightwish for the first time. It’s so good to be able to find quality wholesome content. 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
Nice one didn't know you reacted to Music videos to. Jup had that effect on me to 4 years ago.
Amateur doctor here: you're tearing up because your mind and body like it. Music has that ability to affect you like that. Emotions at work. :-)
Sadly, I have not had the fortune of attending that concert of theirs.
Ahhhhhhhh I have watched a bunch of your videos and did not think you did music videos. So this was a pleasant surprise. This will be fun to watch.

WE ARE EVERYWHERE! 😁
Tarja was a bit better at the operatic part, but was lacking in the other department in my opinion 😀
This song always gets me at 8:51 with the switch, and with the high note at the end. It's such a rollercoaster to go through 😁
Be ready to be bombarded by the Nightwish Army now by the way, they'll be incoming soon 😉
Tarja's wobbly vibrato was hard for me to stomach.
Anette left, she wasn't kicked out.
I've often said that Floor's voice touches your soul. You are not alone with the goosebumps, and tears in your eyes.
I cry every time she hits that last note. Floor is ethereal ✌🏻
Yes!!
Greetings from Finland. Been watching your videos and like the open views on things. Now you just discovered something that can change the way you hear music from now on.
I love how you show your reaction! This is how you make great music
Awesome. I hope you do more Nightwish. If so, I'll keep coming back 🙂

I cried so much in this song. I can't even explain what made me feel
best face expressions to a ghost love score reaction haha. loved it. I always tear up during that song. I went to over 400 concerts in the past and kinda always ignored nightwish. probably cause I didnt like the previous singers and I never noticed when floor joined the band. so I first saw their videos in 2020, shame on me xD

Yes, indeed the first Nightwish experience, this very first song also makes me emotional. It grab me and never let loose no more. Now since 3 years
A fan for live, even at 63 years old.
Nightwish is really, I mean REALLY special. If you enjoy their music, you have a lot of outstanding things to discover...
Norway: This is my neighbor's favorite song. whether he likes it or not🤘
There's a scientific reason behind the goosebumps some get, and also the sudden urge to shed tears.

This *BAND* is an experience.
All their songs are like this.
Thats not to say they all sound the same, they absolutely do not.
But theyre all unique, epic and larger than life.
Every time you hear a Nightwish song for the first time there is always something with that makes you go "wow, ive never seen anyone else do that"
Ive been a fan since 1996 and I still think that sometimes.

(Gabriels list is a very well laid out introduction to the bands scope and you'll get the best links to the quality live NW videos that potential subcribers will likely prefer) Have a great evening 🤘🙂
Hellyeah...!!!!! Nightwish ❤❤❤❤....🤟🤟🤟 Great reaction btw.
This is the 13th song of a 15 song set , stamina is amazing hence the small breaks , shout out to the drummer also
Heidi, i salute you. For just recognizing the guitarist. On point. On F-in' point!
Oh i teared up the first time i heard the ending of this song... goose bump central... NICE REACTION Prince and Crew!
You know that's some damn good music if it gets you tearing up and you don't even know why xD happens to me all the time with nightwish ahhaaha
"I hope she starts belting"
Nightwish Army: Heh. Heheh. Just wait, girlfriend, just wait :)
Finally you saw and heard my favorit band, Nightwish army Denmark reporting in
Pure talent ❤ pure music ❤ the feelings 💯🎶
Their absolute best song!
10 minutes of awesomeness
Floor is the only vocalist that can head bang and make you cry all in the same song! She's just simply incredible. Welcome to the world of Nightwish. Enjoy the ride !
I just look forward to Nightwish reactors and yours is very genuine and heartfelt
Oh, Heidi now also does music reactions to one of my favorite bands ? Then maybe "Lovebites" next ? 😄😄🤘🏼🤘🏼
it will be cool, or to The Warning
Hallo, great reaction. As an old Nightwish fan I'm always that a new fan is enjoying their fantastic music. I really loved your appreciation for the guitarist. Empuu is a great guitarist and always gives what the song needs without the need to show off. Hope you really continue your journey into the Nightwish rabbit hole
So glad to see you finally reacting to Nightwish! ❤
HailHeidi Middle aged man from Finland here. I love your style, your haircut
You are one heck of a package of beauty, healthy doze of energy and positivity.
I was at the Nightwish concert this Saturday in Stockholm... Mindblowing, the concert of my life, and Im 60, seen the most, cried like a baby!
oh oh here we go, didnt think heidi hasn't seen this one yet. ♥ time to shed some tears
I've listened to Nightwish since Oceanborn came out. I'm seeing them live for the first time in three days. I'm excited.
Kitee, their home, the end of another different era.
With special guest!

You are about to experience one of the most diverse singers, all the way from opera to growling!
