As a Finn what I can say is that I acknowledge this to be military propaganda, and thus it is always a poor representation of the actual effectiveness and tactics used by said military. I do however acknowledge the Defence Forces are adequate and even competent in many areas.

I remember watching this in a bar which was normally closed on Sundays but opened for the final. After the game ended an announcement came out from the speakers saying "people PLEASE do not destroy the entire bar" because people were celebrating so wild(not actually destroying anything).

Im from Ukraine, moved to Finland. About it os true,even fast food and bad ( sweet) food, drink less chemical then at my home. Meat production and milk are really good. But I personally miss so much fruits during summer and taste of vegetables. To find tasty tomato during summer is adventure. But cucumber all year are good. Kids are amazing in Finland.

A little detail here, these days "jaeger", in the context of the Finnish military, mainly refers to "infantry", and not special (German trained) elite forces as it used to mean in the first half of the 1900's, because in Finnish "infantry" or foot soldiers translates to "jalkaväki", and the direct Finnish pronunciation of "jaeger" is "jääkäri", which is more convenient and faster to say than "jalkaväki".

My memory of this game has a lot of do with only seeing the last period. During the weekend, I had visited a friend in Stockholm, and most of the game was played during my flight back to Helsinki, and the only thing I knew when I boarded was that Sweden was leading 1-0. Then I got home, and had the pleasure to watch us demolish the Swedish team. To be honest, I really felt sorry for the Swedish goalie, as in some goals, I felt that he was left totally alone by his defence. The worst example is the last goal, where the Swedish players just didn't do anything at all.

Granlund grew tired of everybody talking about his LaCrosse-goal in the previous Russia game (it even made it into a stamp, that's how crazy that got), and said this pass was his best performance of the tournament. Can't really disagree there.

I'm afraid the Finnish ice hockey team has been an underdog in the finals time and again, but having a win against Sweden is pure bliss (win or lose against e.g. Canada doesn't evoke evoke such feelings) . One learns to savor the moments when things come together.

In European ice-hokey, fighting is more harshly punished than in NHL. Although recent years, NHL has been cleaner. The north-Americans are starting to realize that ice-hockey is not boxing :D
