Great video and tips! Helped me identify more clearly whether my screen protector or the screen was cracked. Mine was a bit hard to tell due to my screen protector edge so close to the phone screen edge. Having a magnifying glass definitely assisted. Thank you!

Umm I'm drop my phone on the ground and there is a line but there is a screen protector so does it mean my phone has the crack or my screen protector has?
I remember using my old phone, which is now my brother's, and I had it for three years and still going strong. And whenever I got a crack, I'd tell my dad and he'd ask me if it's the screen or the screen protector. I just assumed that it was the screen protector because I didn't actually know how to tell. The phone that I'm using right now just got a crack recently and I didn't know which was cracked, luckily I found this video. (it's had this crack for two months now and this is the first time I checked).

Thanks for the guide. I thought my screen cracked because my mom never told me she put a screen protector on and I thought if my screen suffered a bit more damage it would look bad. Now I know that it was not my screen that broke and the screen is completely fine.

But I would like to know is that when I use my thumb to rub on the cracked area of the screen which has the protector on it I don't feel any roughness, but when I use my nail I can feel the crack, does that mean the screen protector's impact of the cracked is on the inside or is the main screen really been cracked?

Had a little drop this morning and was trying to figure out is it screen protector or the screen itself. The crack finishes on a edge and the crack itself is so invisible, a naked eye with no flashlight wouldn't see it at all. Your thoughts? I believe it's the protector since it starts on an edge and it's not continuing like you've mentioned and finishes on the other edge. the protector is ''fat'' and goes entire the phone. Thank you !

I’d start with having a screen protector on hand
If your screen tapers/curves off toward the edge like most iphone and Samsung the screen protector will end just before the screen tapers off. Use your fingernail and try to lift up. If it’s there you’ll feel it. If it’s not you won’t
After that, wether you had one or not proceed with installing a new protector
i have a question, my iphone fell from my pocket and the tempered glass cracked in the corners, it has a few thin cracked lines that i can feel with my nail..but there is one that i can’t so im assuming that my screen underneath is cracked..can it spread underneath if i still have my tempered glass on(which is not that ruined)? or should i remove the tempered glass and replace it with a new one?

Are there more signs? Like if you turn on the screen is there difference between a cracked screen and a cracked screen protector?
Predominantly it’s ‘does the screen extend beyond the screen protector’. It’s nice to have extras on hand so if you ever crack it you can throw another one on

i realised in the corner near my iPad camera There’s bubbles under the screen thing and i tried checking if i had a screen protector or not and when a tiny bit of the corner lifted up it kinda shattered(it’s like pure smooth black underneath cause a small piece chipped off), and I’m too scared to check if it’s actually a screen protector or not what do i do (i got my iPad from cash converters/second hand) so i don’t know if it actually had a screen protector when i got it

Yeah I was walking to my school and I started running then BOOM my phone just flew out of my pocket luckily it wasn’t that bad but the corner lifted up I thought it was the actual screen.
A decent case with a lip around the perimeter will help prolong the life of your screen and screen protector
Hey bro my screen just got cracked it was pretty big I haven't taken off the screen protector but some of the cracks extend to the phone screen so is my phone screen broken?
Probably your screen. You can always take it off just to be sure
Heya, so I just realized i have minor cracks on my protector it starts on the edge of my protector (about two cracks one small and one quite mid large) then, when I try to view it at an angle I can see the shadow of the crack on the screen underneath. So does that mean the crack didn't penetrate my phone screen? Is the crack just on the protector itself?
If it starts on the edge of your protector it sure sounds like it’s just the screen protector. The sure fire way to tell the difference is just to peel off the screen protector.
I would definitely suggest having a backup screen protector to install so you don’t immediately/accidentally break your screen

If you still check your comments then I have a question. If there is just one thin crack across the protector and a few scratches, is it worth it to replace the screen protector or should I wait until it gets worse and then replace it?

My phone got some cracks n shuttered a bit last time... so i put tempered glass on it. Bt nw, my tempered glass also got few cracks and I'm thinking to replace it... but if I remove this tempered glass, what will happen ya? 🤔
The screen under will be fine. Tempered glass have enough adhesive to hold onto the screen but not much more
i remember back in December 2021 when i dropped my phone without case but with a back protector, camera lens protector and screen protector Saved my phone no cracks but dents on the sides of my phone

Hello this certainly helped me! But I have a question tho, if I see deeper lines(double line including the screen protector) is it cracked inside too? The crack doesn't extend though and I can't really tell whether it's the shadow or not.
If it doesn’t extend past the screen protector you’re probably fine
Easiest way to tell is by peeling it off

sorry for late late reply but i finally got around to peel off the screen protector and it turns out that my screen was fine lol. It just seemed like my screen cracked but it was actually just a reflection of the plastic film on the glass ahahaaha. Hope that helps :) @@pro_grammeryoutuber1423

That’s usually a deep scratch in either the screen protector or the screen

Does a phone crack have to spread to the edge? I dropped my phone, and the center hit the corner of my desk, and it has small cracks within a small circle shape in the middle. It doesn't go to the edge at all.
In my experience most of the time when a screen protector breaks it stops at the edge. If the screen is broken it continues past the edge of the screen protector. Of course you could always remove the screen protector and find out

Mine was cracked from the edge and I can see the reflection of the crack under the tempered glass
What does it mean?
Probably the light reflecting the crack on the glass underneath when you hold it at the right angle. Or any angle. I wouldn’t worry too much as long as the crack doesn’t extend to the borders or the corner

I have just right this minute cracked my screen protector on my iPhone 12 pro
Are you any good at installing them. Gadget guard has some great quality screens with alignment tools which helps cut down on botched installs
I have an iPhone twelve that I put screen down on a ceramic tile and I lifted it and it had a deepish scratch on it, would a screen protector hide that
With tempered glass probably not. Sometimes it makes it worse. There are scratch removers out there that will help diminish it but if it’s deep you might be stuck with it
Thank you for the answer, the scratch is deep enough for a fingernail to get caught on it and it’s right on the side of the screen, so my main worry with a screen protector is that that scratch will cause it to bubble and I cant stand a bubbled screen protector. Thank you for the straight forward answer I could find one anywhere else on whether or not I should live with the scratch or try a screen protector

I got a crack in my iPhone screen and i dont no if it is my screenprotector it does not come to the edges of the real screen but you can see the crack with a white image and you can see it with a reflection of light if I go over it with my nail it doesn't feel like a deep crack but i dont no if it is a crack in my screenprotector or in my screen

Usually if I show up to an appointment (being a mobile business) and the screen protector is cracked I charge a service fee for the trip and throw on a screen protector at no extra charge (which most customers ask for anyway). I run my business every day as if I’m being secret shopped

When I turn on the display of mobile phone I can see a very very slim line of seven colours (only when I notice the screen very closely) on turning off the display I can see a slim cracked line on my tempered glass ! I am totally confused that

If it s in the center of your screen it might be the display that’s damaged. If it’s on the edge of the screen protector it sounds like the edge of the screen protector is refracting/magnifying the light from the display
If it’s the second, make sure that the tempered glass overlaps the display slightly. Said another way, center it as much as you can. If it’s centered properly it will naturally overlap

Unfortunately no. It’s usually exasperated when you put a screen protector over a cracked screen
My protector is little broke from the middle and it shows little bubble on my screen does it effect my mobile screen?
If it does just take it off and replace it. If the issue persists your screen is probably damaged

It all depends on how you treat the phone going forward. I’ve seen people use a cracked screen for a year or more. I’ve also seen people keep dropping the phone it lasted a week

i have an ipad that the screen itself got cracked but no damage was done to the screen protector, how is this possible?
One time I was trying to intentionally break the back of an iphone so I could get it swapped at apple under apple care plus so I could gift a ‘brand new’ phone to someone else. I kept banging the back glass on the corner of a table and finally the front glass cracked. To answer your question there must have been enough flex during whatever impact to crack the glass. It would make sense that the screen protector has a bit more flex than the glass underneath but it doesn’t make it any less weird

Grab some on Amazon or eBay. They got a great deal on 3 packs
Extended cracks outside the screen protector = screen crack
Cracks that don't extend outside the screen protector = screen protector crack.
Am I right, sir? Because I'm overthinking right now if my phone screen is damaged, I dropped mine and got a crack in the upper left side and in the middle right. Both cracks don't extend outside the protector, but I think the cracks are deep. Is that okay?

Usually the damage happened along the corner where the screen protector doesn’t cover and spread from there
I have Samsung s20 and I got a scratched on my phone about 4 months ago..the screen was cover with plastic protector because of its edges..I don’t know if the scratches is on screen or protector but the scratches can’t be seen on edges it’s just on the front like on protector

the easiest way is to remove it and install another, ideally have the new one ready to go so you don't accidentally mess it up in the interim

Make sure there’s no moving air ( close windows/turn off fans)
Wipe down with a cloth (I use my shirt a lot of the time) then use the dust stickers ( scotch tape works too) grab all the little specs of dust. And that’s it

Most screen protectors for the 6 series all the way to the 11 series don’t cover edge to edge because the glass curves there. It’s very common for that to be the area that’s gets damaged
