Turns out this game was probably made by a friend of the guy who made Hong Kong '97. It was made as a sort of criticism/exposé/shitpost against the cult. MamaMax made a really good video on it.

For anyone wondering, this game was NOT actually made by Aum Shinrikyo. The company who published the game, HappySoft, is actually the same made-up company who made Hong Kong 97 (Kowloon Kurosawa is a madlad). The guys who made it also knew Kurosawa (who if ur still wondering is the developer of Hong Kong 97). The game was basically a sature/troll made to mock the cult and according to some people who are Japanese themselves, they can easily tell that the game is just a joke and not actually meant to make Aum Shinrikyo look good.

It's just the most likely case that someone took them in order to make this game, which itself isn't a very complimentary showcase of the group. And Hong Kong '97, a similarly crude game, notably also used a photo of a real dead body. You can disagree with the usage of exploitative content (I do, too) but the intent is pretty easy to infer.
@@roccoon9892 Japan doesn't shy away from joking with very serious subjects. Case in point, look for Issei Sagawa, the Japanese cannibal (there's a very good documentary from Vice). A real case, of a real murder, the man got away with it and became a sub celebrity here. Books, comedy skits, even a god damn porn tape was made with him in it. I still see him making appearances in smaller events.

I was in the library and my eye caught some guy who started talking to the girl next to me, he asked us both how we were doing financially after chatting with her for a bit, we both didnt say anything after that since we were just started middle school. I feel like this definitely wasn't made by anyone involved with the cult, it seems much more like dark comedy/satire. The drawings of the cult leader (like the one of him in the bath) seem like they're making fun of him, and the game in general doesn't paint them in a good light. It was likely made by a single person a while after the attack when more information about them came out, the point of the game was probably to make fun of the cult and shame them, while also highlighting just how horrible they are (with the kidnappings and such)
This game is honestly creepier than a lot of horror games I've played. It gives me a feeling of dread, like something you'd find on the deep web, like that game that I think was called Sad Satan that had gore pictures in it. It makes me very uncomfortable, but also intrigued. It's just weird.

Also from my understanding the way to avoid joinning a cult is to never agure with them. They 100% belive the bullshit they say. The more you try and fight them the more they wear you down. So to avoid it is to never waste time on them at all.
