Yeah cool. The later model 480's are absolutely brilliant and handle far better than my old 2015 480. Very light and agile. Depends on how far you are going. If you plan on doing big miles then the 690 is the best as it will just do the open roads so much better. For local adv work the 480 will be a lot more fun :) Regards Steve
Hi Calin Sorry for the slow response. I did about 8000 Kms on the 480 while I owned it of which 90% was off road on fire trails and twin track. Great bike but I just wanted to do some bigger trips. If I was a bit more cashed up I would have kept it and bought the 690 as well. I just was setting up a a 2 bike set up. So the 390 for ultralight ADV and single trail and the 690 for the local ADV and interstate ADV Regards Steve
@@dirtbikeadv Thank you Steve ! I was thinking about making the 480 a do it all motorcycle but i fear that it vibrates too much at 110 kph and the reliability is also a concern.
Hi Yeah you are right I needed to clarify that a bit better. Mechanically it is a stock bike, I haven't fitted dongles, re-mapped it, fitted a new carbi etc. I was looking at buying a 690 at that stage and most people were fitting ABS and side stand dongles, O2 deletes, changing the air intakes so I was thinking to myself at the time jeez I didn't have to do any of that to the 480. I bolted on a heap of parts to make it ADV friendly but underneath that it was a stock bike. Thanks for watching Regards Steve
Nice vid! Beautiful country you were riding through, and then down onto a beach. Nice!
Thank you for this very valueable content. I'm just trying to decide between Beta 480 and KTM 690, so exactly between the bikes that you own/ed
