Riding the 2024 Beta 480 RR at the Beta Demo day at Brushy Mountain Motorsports park. It was wet and sloppy, as Brushy often is, but that makes for a good test of the Beta bikes, known for their ability to keep traction.
I really liked the Beta 480 RR, it's my favorite of the Beta 4 strokes. Super predictable big bore power, great feeling suspension, excellent ergonomics. If you like a big thumper feel, this bike is great. It reminds me of a KTM 500 or even a DR 650 power wise.
It won’t flame out if you give it gas. Why are you lugging it sooo much?
To me a big advantage of a big bore bike is so I can lug it and maintain traction.
@@DmitriyAdv I agree with that but your engine isn't happy when it is lugged that bad all the time. Thanks for the video. I think I'm going to get one.
@@johnkephart2355 welcome! Thanks for the comments and enjoy your new Beta :)
I'm curious to know the power and torque specs, anyone?
@@dominic9279 Not sure, there are some dynos of the 2020 500 RR-S around, which is probably somewhat similar. The 480 feels very similar to the KTM 500 to me in terms of engine character.
compared to the 390?
Have you seen my 390 video? th-cam.com/video/tnxEe_mZcNo/w-d-xo.html
They're the same aside from the engine, but the engine makes for a very different riding experience. The 390 feels almost like a 350 - light and nimble. The 480 feels like a big thumper that you ride a gear high. Physical weight (i.e. picking up) they feel the same, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Both will do all the same things, but differently.
