Love your style of cooking soup...u used more seasoning than I do but everything else remains the same... soup without dumpling .. milk and chicken noodle is no soup atall. ... I'm a Chef myself
My sister who is Jamaican born swears by this soup. Says its good for knee joint restoration! 😋 It took me awhile but Jamaican dishes are very delicious!. Looks great Chef!
Once again, your Dad is the best!!! I am Jamaican but just like you I just cannot cook as I never did when I was growing up. But now I turn to your Dad every time I have a taste for Jamaican Food. He is truly the best and reminds me alot of my Family's cooking. Thank you for sharing your Dad with us. He is the best!!!
It has been years since i made Christmas cake...and i followed your step-by-step instructions and made six three pounders and they came out superb 👌 thanks for sharing 👍 with us you and your wife and family...give GOD the praise 🙏
Looks so delicious! :D Chinese in the US here~ We Chinese people also love chicken feet! We have many ways to cook them. One of my favorites is frying only the center part of the chicken feet palm lol! And I used to eat pickled pepper chicken feet as snacks haha! Thank you for sharing many great Jamaican recipes!! I tried my best and bought most of the seasoning you used in the videos from Amazon even the flavorice haha! It would be great if you could add the seasonings and materials you use and main cooking steps in the description. Thank you!!:D
YES!!!! Deddy freestyled his seasonings! I enjoyed this entire video... the soup is 🔥🔥🔥... can we get a pot of Jamaican Pepper Pot Soup Lord Ah Mercy!🤣 Keep Vibing Fam!❤️
I'm from Philadelphia, PA, USA and we call it chayote but I also speak Spanish and "chocho" sounds too close to a colloquial Puerto Rican Spanish word for a woman's privates... so although I LOVE Deddy's accent, I cringe when I hear that... 😂😂😂
For the fist time in my life I cooked chicken foot soup! This video helped me on a day like this to feed my sick baby girl. It came out so yummy!! I didn’t have all the food ingredients but what I did have worked. Mi all kneed dumpling lol Thanks a bunch!
Omggggggg you've made my year with this recipe this was my favourite part of the chicken as a kid my great grandma made this for me everyday it's all I ate😭😍😍😍
I'm making chicken foot soup today my Jamaican nurse/friend from Dialysis brought me the veggies and Grace packet to add to the soup, but I wanted to make sure I do everything right, Mr. Deddy is a perfectionist, I love his way of cooking! Thank you for sharing another delicious recipe! ❤🎉
In Puerto Rico we call it chayote and the food we call it vianda in english spanish roots and that kind of soup we call it sancocho. Ummm it looks delicious 😋🤤.
Thank you Deddys Kitchen, Im not very close to my family so I come here to learn how to make certain stuff I grew up on when Im at odds or don’t really want to deal with my family:. TMI, I know. But , truly . Thank you guys 💕
Aww guys 😂!!! Too funny. My dad is Jamaican and my mom is Gullah. Glad I learned while I could kinda by their force so I mix both food cultures . But still much to learn. So mad most Jamaican restaurants only have like 5 things on menu, having Americans thinking all we eat is jerk chicken, curry chicken and stew chicken smh all day
I love your channel. Deddy and your whole family are so lovely. I'm from Suriname and we in and from Suriname also love chicken foot. We put it also in brown beans/peas. God bless Deddy and y'll. Greeting from the Netherlands.
You all are too cute! Soup looks delicious! Thank you for sharing! And you are cooking for your family - so you could double dip if you want! Ok! Bless up! Christophene - 🇹🇹
Hello I’m just now viewing your channel on TH-cam and so far I’m loving it I’m from Panamà and our cooking is very similar to your’s but the one concern I have is that some of your spices are not available for some of us living in different parts of the USA so what do you suggest we do as far as achieving the same results for your delicious looking foods ???♥️♥️
Cho-Cho = Mirleton in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Chayote Squash in Mexico. I want to make some chicken foot soup! It looks so good and brings back memories, my mama used to make this, especially when we were sick. So good!
Soup looks GREAT without the chicken feet. Much respect. I'm so glad he is teaching how to cook from SCRATCH. I know, my mom taught me. So, much healthier for you. ♥️ Thanks Deddy!!
We cook Chicken feet too, have been eating it since childhood, my father used to raise and sell chickens, so when the chickens were killed we'd have plenty, also used the heads. In fact people in all the islands use chicken feet so it is not only a Jamaican thing. I used to live in another island and we are more alike than different, may have different accents, do some things a little different but had a similar history.
Very good soup to have in the winter.. you're a very good cook .and your vibes with your family are really good beautiful ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️❤️ nuff Love to you guys blessings
@@rohanlandathat’s lovely :) I love the culture bond we all have, it’s also popular East Asian culture, especially china and Korea. But instead they fry it and season it with sesame seeds 🤤😋 we may make it in different ways but it sure will still taste good 🐓!
YUM!!!! I loveeeeeee me a good jamaican chicken soup....i get it all the time at my local JA joint. Question, tho. Did Deddy season the soup before he threw in the provisions? I noticed at 14:00 theres green specks floating in the soup water, kind of looks like thyme or parsley flakes??? But the thyme and scotch bonnet wasn't put in until after the fact? Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to attempt to make this!
Just made this today. I remembered how my mom did it but put some of your spin on it such as the coconut milk and putting in scallions whole and whole garlic . I won’t lie, the coconut milk didn’t no anything for me and didn’t add anything substantial to the mix but the garlic did and I love slurping up the whole scallions
Your dad’s food looks so delicious! He scared me too when he pretended to cut his finger chopping the turnip!😂 Enjoy watching him from Texas with my 89 year old mother.
Deddy and beautiful family my husband and daughter is jamaican and crave the traditional foods and deddy channel is ny go to. Im making pumpkin soup tonight thank you

My sister who is Jamaican born swears by this soup. Says its good for knee joint restoration! 😋 It took me awhile but Jamaican dishes are very delicious!. Looks great Chef!
Knee restoration, I like that, cause I need that.
The reason being is that chicken feet has the highest concentration of collagen.

In Louisiana I grew up calling Chocho "Merliton". In California it is called "Chayote Pear"
Thank you so much for the information
In Barbados, it’s Christophene 🇧🇧
Yeah, I knew it as "cho-cho" in English, but in Spanish, you can't say that so we had to call it "chayote."
That Flavo Rice is 🔥 I use on EVERYTHING!!!! ❤️
I never heard of ChoCho. My first time hearing about it. I always enjoy watching "Deddy's Kitchen". 💗
Peace and Love Always!
