I love Studio One, I been using it off and on for 7 years, Impact should have been just as advanced as Logic pro’s Drum machine Designer. It needs a serious overhaul. I get tired of using Serato Sample inside S1 when S1 should have had these upgrades years ago it’s ridiculous.🤦🏿♂️
@@alright392 What problems? You just love to spend years whining. Maybe you should make your own DAW. Do you actually make music, or just spend all your time complaining.

I agree. We need to have the ability to insert plugins in the pads like with Logic, Bitwig, and I assume Abelton. Or heck, just give us some some drum synth options like that Cubase and Reasons Kong offers (which the other DAWs I mentioned offer as well)
Thank you Gregor ! An important improvement would be to link the "inspector" with the multi-outputs of the Impact , in the mixer. right now they are not linked when selected !
that trick with Impact XT is nearly exactly how I make glitchy percussion sounds via Synplant. Ie, record all the notes then slice to MIDI, but this is better for me. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome tips Gregor. But I really hope the next update brings more features and improved performance for composers. At the moment, Studio One *still* trails competitors when dealing with larger (e.g. orchestral) projects. For exampe, track visibility / filtering slows down to a crawl with larger track counts.
For the looping start point bit, instead of undoing all your edits, you could duplicate the original track before editing it, then edit just the duplicated track with the original one muted. That way you could just drag and overwrite your selections to the original track as you see fit and not have to constantly undo your edits. Then just switch back to the OG track and mute the duplicated edited one.
Efficiency cores are not intended for real-time processing such as audio streams. They're designed for energy efficiency, not maximum performance or low-latency tasks.
@ interesting, i’ve been using studio one for a long time but planning to get a m4 mac mini but saw studio one 7 doesnt utilize the CPU as well as reaper, but I’m gonna stick with studio one regardless because i love the work flow and features
@@Ultima_Tokyo Don't trust the flawed DAW comparison video. It's highly misleading. Buy the M4! You will have a lot of fun - with Studio One or any other program you're using :)
I'll drop this amazing coment about this amzing daw studio one, this daw is truely amazing I've been producing beats in fl studio and Cubase for for a very long time, when studio one 7pro came out I decided to give it a try and boom this daw made me stop making beats in fl studio for good,it has a certain feature that plays loops and sample to your tempo and it locks any sample to your beats and it even has the fl studio channel racks❤❤ and this feature just won me over I stared producing, beats faster, the daw is just like Cubase little brother I just adapted very fast.
Is there a way to do the following? I assume there is an obvious setting that I am missing. When I have a virtual instrument open, and I click the midi that is on another channel, I don’t want the virtual instrument to change to the midi’s virtual instrument. I want it to stay the same
I have been a user since the beginning and a user of Studio One Pro 7. Ok here's my thinking. Presonus creates all the programming for all their software. Why can't upon release explain everything (by video) while the manual does explain things. No we have to daily get update video's about this new hidden item. Don't get me wrong. The product is excellent. How about giving us all the info up front by video upon release.
Can you please fix the nonsensical CPU usage of Studio One? Everything music creation-wise is great with Studio One. It is my favorite DAW. However, it is a massive CPU hog. I have a computer background and incredibly sophisticated diagnostic tools. Studio One consistently is 20-60% heavier on the CPU than the other DAWs I have access to (depending on what specifically is being done in them). I see very precisely what Studio One is doing that makes it so slow. It is something you can fix. Can you please just do so? I get it may not be something you can do in a weekend but there is no excuse for being so CPU-heavy
I'm trying this right now and not getting the same results with that MIDI slicing trick. I end up getting a MIDI part that's half as long as my loop, but playing at twice the speed. It's not filling up the entire active loop range like we see in this video.
Thank you. Something that is frustrating with the instrument busses is that they break sidechaining. So if I wanted to sidechain my kick to another instrument, it would send the entire bus audio instead. Does anyone know a workaround or if they are working on fixing this?
Duplicate the track, and use that duplicate just for the sidechain (without sending that duplicate track to the mix buss of course). If the track in question is a live MIDI track, just bounce audio to another track for the sidechain. Might not work with your flow.
There's nothing to convert. Studio One has an integrated Score Editor so any MIDI file you open can be edited in piano roll view or in score view. It also lets you create lead sheets or piano sheets, print them, etc.
Please how do I bounce multiple audio events on a track without them being merged especially if you have other audio events in between that you don't want them to be affected?
9:45 - why do you never show that instead of right-clicking and typing a number in the pop-up, you can simply grab the bottom-right edge of the clip (when the relevant icon appears) and extend it to loop for how long and however many times you want? This way is so much more natural & more convenient.
Omg 😮😱 INSANE Studio One did that 5 years ago already 😂 woow groundbreaking 😮 Oh shiiii and Ableton did that 15 years ago!! Oh and shiiiii FENDER f**ked us over big time!!!
Are the rumours true that Presonus still want to do away with Perpetual licences and only have subscription users only? Why have Presonus screwed over people who have been long term Studio One users? I only started using Studio One from version 3 and I did not see any reason to upgrade from 5 to 6. So, maybe I do not qualify as a long time user. But I would still like to speak up for those who started using Studio One from version 1. Especially those who have always used the premium version and why the discount to upgrade to this '7 Pro' version is the same as those upgrading from the 'Artist' version? This is not a good way to keep customers! Even if you had tiered pricing for upgrades would show that you care for your customers. This would make business sense.
I just stayed with 6 there’s nothing new in 7 that I would use. I don’t use vsti or midi and I definitely don’t use samples or loops. All stem separating is a joke and a big scam none of them work, the results are less than useful no matter how good the original recording is.
That first tip is gold already! Thank you so much Gregor :)
Oh dear - that MIDI drum loop trick looks like a bottomless rabbit hole! Can't wait!

Hello. Can Studio One convert a midi piece i create from a keyboard performance, and transfer it to Sheet Music?
There's nothing to convert. Studio One has an integrated Score Editor so any MIDI file you open can be edited in piano roll view or in score view. It also lets you create lead sheets or piano sheets, print them, etc.
This is all fine and good but audio quantize is unusable! Please make it detect transients at the start just like every other daw!

auto create bus is stupid because you can't side chain individual channel's
is one of the hidden features how much it costs to upgrade.....again and again..vs subscription, knowing your fkt either way?
Using loops as they are, is what i call drag and drop music. I am not a fan. A lot of it sounds artificial and as you said, sounds like everyone else
Why hide features? Better use a DAW which does not do this.
More EDM-centred sample stitching from Presonus. Yawn.

@wesleywild-s9x So you're admitting that all this sample based midi nonsense is not "audio based", i.e. not music.
Oh yes good to know
