THE CHOPPING AND RE-ARRANGING IMPACT PADS SECTION OF THIS VIDEO WILL BE CUT OUT! I figured it out all of these functions with you guys via the Livestream from 10/14! Thank you all so much for your help on the Stream!!!!!
if retrospective recording is on (info panel in the top left "i") you can literally drag the clip out from the front and the starting point will be there - it records 1mn of info prior to you hitting record assuming the recording is armed (red) . this works for audio and midi. you can also hold cmd + option to slip clip info left or right you can rearrange the pads on impact using option or shift (idr) for chopping you want to drag your sample in the arrangement and use slice markers then you can import directly into impact with those and it'll automatically slice into each pad (i think you hold option for that) can have it mark automatically using transients. there's shorcuts for almost all of this and you can even setup macros so it does all this with one shortcut. it's a matter of getting familiar with the features that are named differently (i have to use most daws for work)
Yes I discovered these function on my livestream today! I cut out those sections about chopping and re-arranging the impact pads! Video should be updated by tomorrow morning/afternoon.
Bro. I don't know if you're familiar with the Retrospective Recording feature on Studio One yet but it's been there since the Studio One 5 ver. It's a great feature when recording whatever it doesn't capture at the beginning or even when it doesn't display your note information you can tap on that feature it's found in the inspector tab drag down to where it's says Retrospective Recording it displays highlighted in red.
Thanks for the review. I cant believe that they haven't fixed that first bar isue... Killz my vibes, there was also an issue with pitch bend data missing after a take...Well I'm hoping for the best
Im looking into getting S1 as my first like proper daw before starting uni, i was wondering what you recommend about it and how it compares to pro tools?
Heard you mention that Splice is a subscription although it is being advertised as an integration into the new version. What is it? The feature, along with the AI Stem Separation are both pretty dope to have.
DOPE walkthrough fam! I REALLY hope they fixed the quantization issues. This is why I can't leave LogicPro yet, but I love S1's audio editing capabilities.
Two things I’m waiting for AL to drop stem separation when they do that I’ll pull the plug and update!!!SO I’m glad they upgraded the payment method!!! I’ll pull the plug on that too!!
Fun fact about the splice thing. Its not generative. It simply uses AI to run complex analysis on your song to find key, tempo, and style to make intelligent recommendations of existing user-created samples that would match your production well. It then will do slight tempo and key modulations to fit your particular project. AFAIK its responsible ethical AI and is not generating content based on source material from real artists.
6:29 you’re probably wrong. I can’t speak from too much experience as I use Maschine vst in studio one IFF I’m producing in Studio One, but I do know you can chop in Studio One. Otherwise just use Serato Sample. Easy peasy.
Inspiring video :) With your sustain issue, the answer may lie within the record panel settings (little cog to left of metronome on S7 transport bar). The 'Record Takes' option may help retain your sustain automation? Cheers!
That would def fix the sustain issue but that would work for recording MIDI Drums (if I want to add more pieces in while overdubbing on the same track) if that makes sense? Thank you for that suggestion!!
Fadr has a stem plugin that I’ve used in Ableton! To me the separation sounds better on their website but it’s definitely usable in Ableton! Davinci Resolve 19 has the best sounding stem separator to me at this point!! 🙏🏾
Presonus is going the wrong direction for me. All new features are mostly just for EDM users. I'll stick to version 6 until S1 will add new and better audio features (if ever). Disappointing.
I don't doubt the quality of this software but it has a very austere interface it lacks fun it's very conventional it gives the impression that it's a work whereas on FL Studio or even on my MPC I don't I don't feel like I'm working but having fun, which makes creativity better in my opinion. I have the same problem with Cubase... there is too much information in front of you, too many sub-menus etc. it's scary this side Excelle Sheet for office work.. yuck I apologize for my English and I greet you from France
If you don’t like to see so much info in your face SO allows to fully customize the menus reducing the options on screen and setting the colors to your like.
Pro tools is simple and very linear easy and simple to use and easy on the eyes. I love studio one too. I have 5.5. And latest Protools. I tried Cubase 14 excellent but drove me nuts much harder to work in
Stem Separation: No Bassdrum is the same in your separated track - so it's USELESS for further use. Vocals are also too bad quality to use them. So it's a gimmick. What for?
@@Yhuntermusic Well that's the end of truth (you're buying a ton of software, hardware, plug-ins and interfaces to make music NOBODY will listen to), but at first the stem separation tells you that you could separate clean audio stems which is not the case. In all kind of software it is some kind of "quite good results" which are in fact useless for further production. So what's the point in stem separation?

For sample one…Right click on the sample file highlighted in blue near the upper right corner then select the slice option.
Thank you for that! Gonna try it!

I appreciate that!

Studio one 7 is so 🔥

I don't have this equipment, but it gives me a feel of what I should be doing with my MPC and Ableton 10
I have used Studio One for decades and had no problems with plug-and-play on Windows.
Im looking into getting S1 as my first like proper daw before starting uni, i was wondering what you recommend about it and how it compares to pro tools?
All the content creators are doing S1 videos. Great marketing on their end.

Wow I am a Cubase user but the option of studio one 7 separate stems is so dope
Aye thanks a lot for tuning in!
Logic 11 stem separation is a lot better (from the examples I've heard).
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!!
I believe there's a record setting to not let it record over itself 😊
Yes it's called "record takes" that has its pro's and cons
Can we add fades and crossfades within impact XT and sample one?
Try exporting stems from virtual DJ

Oh wow thanks for sharing that!!
Yea when I pulled my song to splice it pulled up samples to match my chord progression and that was wild

Bet man!
As far as the splice add-on is concerned, wouldn't something like Splice Bridge close the gap for other DAWS such as Ableton?
I crown thee king of the baselines ⚔️
YO I appreciate that fr fr!!
What midi keyboard are you using?
U can rearrange in impact by drag and drop while holding command
Indeed! Segments from this video will be chopped out. I went live today and figured these workarounds

Aye good morning 🙏🏾
🔥🎶🔥🎶 That's Hunter‼️ 🫡💪🏾
He made a beat in Studio One as a demo then goes onto say that its best to use Ableton or FL
LMBO! Ya'll gotta watch the whole video fr fr
Is it a good DAW to start learning?

so if i have two-track beat, i can now get the stems with stem separation????
Indeed! You'll get: Drums, Bass, Vocals & Other (Keys, Horns, Synths etc).
Is this splice integration on Logic?
Not at this point in time..
Studio one is the only one with it right now
God bless you kind sir and Studio one 7 🙏😭🎸
God bless President Trump 🙏🇺🇸
Bro I said the samething why Ableton dont have stems yet
