You Teachers, are Awesome!!! You make that learning English be having fun with a lot of knowledge. Thanks for your Great Good Lessons!!! Excuse if I wrote with some errors;I'm still learning with Smashing English.😊
Thanks for the video 😊 a lot of my teenage students often say ‘so-so’ and I’ve always wondered where they got it from. I’ve never heard a native speaker say that. I’ll definitely show them this video in class tomorrow ☘️
Thank you so much! You're the best english teachers I saw on youtube❤Your videos about accents in the UK are terrifics!!😂Having fun and learning a lot with you.
"Nothing to write home about" is related to my experience in Dublin. My friends and I were hanging out with an Australian guy who was teaching us some idioms and to make it clear he said "For example, that girl over there is nothing to write home about" and he pointed out a group of 3 people, 2 girls and one boy. After some moments, the pretty big guy approached us and made us notice that that was pretty rude. Nobody got hurt, though. That idiom has stuck to me to this day.
One question for me as a German: Is the phrase "Long time no see" grammatically correct or is it more supposed to be correctly "It is a long time we didn't see"?
Or simply avoid contact with someone you haven't seen in a long time just to talk about a weather or whatever and then not see him/her for the next 30 years.
ok so i can translate directly into ... from german into english ... "ewig her als wir uns das letzte mal gesehn haben." ITS BeEEEEN Ages aber, sag bitte nicht das ich dich schon lang nimmer gesehn hab "Long time no see"

Like for "Yo-Yo young and cool" :D (and for the word "nice"). Russian speakers always use it due to imbecility, especially in videogames
