You can get Minthara on a good play-through if you knock her out in the goblin camp if she is temporarily hostile. Then save her in Moonrise Tower, she will join you.
And Wyll was a much more interesting character in EA. He was still very good, but had more grey attitudes, had a direct connection to a goblin who took his eye, and probably had an intimate relationship with Mizora. My guess is that they changed him to be a more "goody two shoes" character to balance out Astarion, SH, Gale and Lae'zel (who all have incredible depth and grey areas), but it just ended up leaving him feeling shallow and boring.
Wow, when I’ve seen the title of the video, I’ve anticipated something else and I was surprised finding out a kindred spirit here. But I would rank them the same way)
8:01 been a long time now you can recruit Minthara without being left by Karlach and Wyll. Karlach imo should be at the bottom aswell, since her questline is not even barebones, it's practically non-existent. Just grab some iron and give them to a merchant. That's it. She has no noticeable impact on the story.
I have some commentary to make Halsin: All companions have difficulty opening themselves to the player, but Halsin has the most difficulty. He has many defenses and doesn’t know how to deal with the horrors he suffered throughout his life. So, obviously he doesn’t know how to express it properly. Ex: ha drows enslaved me for years and I barely escaped with my life… good times! I don’t think they were good times. Furthermore he tells us that he doesn’t know what to do with his life after the shadowcurse is lifted. If you think interactions with someone who is having a midlife existentiel crisis isn’t gonna be awkward, then you seriously need to lower your expectations. The character development he has is at the camp reunion where he shows incredible vulnerability by giving you a duck. He is also living a life where he finds purpose and satisfaction and is much more easy going and easy to talk to. While I agree with many of your points like the lack of reactivity, many of the other flaws are simply personality traits of halsin. Wyll: WYLL IS THE CHAD OF THIS game. I played as him in my second playtrough, but trust me I have no bias whatsoever. On a serious note though, the reason he says that making a pact with mizora is the best decision he ever made is simple denial. His number 1 coping mechanism to everything is denial. Pay attention to that and you will notice it. I agree with all of the other points. Karlach: On the contrary, I love the fact that all of her endings are tragic in some way, it adds realism to the game. Just like in real life, you cannot completely change the life trajectory of every person you meet. Sometimes sacrificing player agency for realism is a good trade. It makes all the more tragic In terms of impact and importance to the game, I completely agree with your list, except for Minthara. I would place her at the bottom of the list because not many players know her and she is the least talked about companion in the media. However, if we were basing it on personal preferences than my list and probably your list would be very different from the list shown in the video.
What will be your ranking? You will put minthara below Halsin and wyll. I have played a lot of minthara, so I love that character. I don’t see karlach moving above lae’zel, gale, astarion or shadowheart, those companions have some of best writings in the game.
Karlach should have a 'good' ending because Gondians can clearly save her. They worked on infernal iron and know how to use it. After Dammon's second upgrade saving Gondians should've given you a special ending.
I was trying to guess at the ranking as it went along and would have 2 in my head for each rank. Only one I was wrong on was Karlach (because I adore her, but the points made about her were correct. But also I was struggling with how to sort Karlach, Gale, and Lae'zel).

@simonjameskenway6933 oh im aware. If you have 16 party members (which youd need the Alfira party mod, all hirelings, all origin characters, Halsin, Minthara, Jaheira and Minsc to actually do) the game gets exponentially easier each level. Exacerbated further by the level 20 mod. However i feel it's a fun way to experience honor modes added mechanics while basically being easier than explorer difficulty lol.
You make great content, but if you want to grow this channel, you need to ditch the AI voice. Everyone hates it and it makes the whole video very flat and feels like it has no soul. I subscribed anyway because I agree with all of your points here and I hope to see this channel grow.

Yes. But that’s tricky and most people will miss that. It is not an obvious thing to do
@@xpertgamer0this. You have to
A. Meta game
B. Already know enough about the game to know she will be a playable character

My favorite is probably Gale

Whole story arc with gortash, connection with Mizora and zariel?
Couldn't have said it better, great points!! 🍻Although must say, each time you mispronounced their names bugged me so much lol 🤣
AI voice. says whatever it wants
I have some commentary to make

Swap astarion and lazel
That also would be a good list.
I don't know how many hours I've played. 1000+ anyway. Still never used Jaheira or Minsc in combat. They just arrive much too late in the game.
Ai voices make videos unlistenable, sorry.
It’s ok. Have a nice day
500 hrs and you pronounce their names wrong smh
It’s AI voice. So it does its thing. Sorry for that
Astarion pronounced 5 different ways and exactly 0 of them correct. Jaheira was driving me insane too.
It’s AI’s fault. I am innocent
the party limit increase mod makes the less popular characters a lot easier to digest.
I need to try that mod
The game is too easy with more than 4 people tbh
