Great job as always. I'm curious about the process of how you get into these reviews. How you prepare footage for instance. Do you have a method of stuff you're looking for? I noticed that at 3:51, when you mention the worlds slowest jump kick, you didn't feature a jump kick in the footage. I'm even interested to know if you choose wardrobe according to the show or if you just wear whatever. Just curious :)
Great video as always. Awesome look Iron Maiden shirt. I love the Jaguar collection in the backround. Did you ever figure out what was wrong with your Neo Geo Cd?
Like you mentioned in the video, I enjoyed this version of Double Dragon more than the NES version honestly. I loved that I didn't have to "level up" in a sense to do new moves and I can play it anywhere. :)
Not necessarily, it's just that it's yet another version of Double Dragon. It is my favorite game, so I'm trying to show some of the differences between a few of the versions.
To answer your questions: Yes, I do prepare footage. Usually days or weeks in advance ~ I just make it a habit to record most games I play through in case I feel like doing a video on them. A lot gets scrapped, actually. About the jump kick thing, honest answer is that I just didn't think about it since I showed a lot of it already. No, I don't choose a wardrobe; just usually whatever I'm wearing at the time.
great review as usual. The Game Gear Double Dragon is so weird. You could get a gun and enemies went down with one punch. You should review the GBA version some time
I have the Game Gear version. I'll be the 1st to admit that while it isn't really good I do appreciate that it's a completely original game in the series that was made from the ground up for the system. They just needed to execute it better.
It's amazing that this port is as good as it is. I actually like the fact that they made changes to the game instead of keeping it the same. The lack of having to "learn" moves is a nice change of pace. Great review.
I have this on 3ds but want the physical copy. I already own this on NES, Genesis, Master System and even the Tiger LCD. Really want it on Lynx but it's in the $90 range, loose.
I like your review style, it's informative and a good mix between your comments and game footage. :) It's also nice to see this version of DD again, it was one of the first games I ever played. I subscribed and will check your other videos as soon as I have time.
It's kind of a shame too that the other Double Dragon games on the Game Boy aren't nearly as good, either. Especially after seeing that it's entirely do-able with the first one.
Just caught this review of yours Bracey. I agree with you on the other two GB Double Dragon games. Just garbage when compared to the first one. I wanted to mention that the Chin-tai enemy is way slicker in this game with his somersault. Cheers! ^>^
Great review man! It looks like this game has held up pretty well. I had it back in the late '90s, and having been really familiar with the NES version, I thoroughly enjoyed the Game Boy one back then. It is definitely more sluggish like you mentioned, but I really liked the stage differences, not to mention the fact that punching was far more effective than in the NES one. It's just a FUN game, and definitely worth picking up.
Have you gotten around to playing the GBA version yet? It's literally so good that it makes me laugh when I play it. It's like the world's perfect Double Dragon game.
Totally agree - I think the GBA version the best out of all Dbl Dragon games. Its pretty pricey thou, even cart only, and Im terrified of all the fakes for GBA out there.
Haha, good point ~ never really looked at them that way...now I won't ever see them the same way again!
This is still a bright jewel on the gameboy library, especially considering it's release being very early in the gameboy's lifecycle.
Yeah, me too. It's nice not having to play the exact same game over and over again.
Yeah I did. Ended up replacing the laser unit and that seemed to do the trick!
One of my favorite game series

I still have nightmares of Double Dragon 3 on the Gameboy. Great review here!

the game does look like a lot of fun! i like the way you review games, rather professional and clean :)
yeah I fucking love the double dragon music lol
Great video as always.
Awesome look Iron Maiden shirt.
I love the Jaguar collection in the backround.

You can get this for $4.50 on the 3DS Store.

I agree whit snow. Its like megaman one to three. bassicly the same game but i still cant get enough of em.
Looks really good, very comparable to the NES version. I've still yet to get my hands on the PC Engine version, which is the one I really want now.

Hey thanks! Much appreciated!
I've always been curious about the 7800 version, but sadly never got a chance to play it.

its the best version tbh and a great GB game. The music damn is so good.

I got this on 3DS Virtual Console.
Sad thing is this version still looks better than the Atari 7800 version. Of course the 2600 version is even worse off graphically. Great review :)
Love it, much better then the part 3 on the Gameboy!
I have this on 3ds but want the physical copy. I already own this on NES, Genesis, Master System and even the Tiger LCD. Really want it on Lynx but it's in the $90 range, loose.

It really is weird; I have it on the Game Gear as well. Doesn't even feel like Double Dragon! Well, at least the music is pretty good.
Great as always buddy!
