      There can be various reasons why, but a few of mine _include:_
      1) You fought back, which absolves the bully of all wrongdoing because Matthew 5:39 (No offence to the religion, this one is on the School)
      2) Yes we know you're getting bullied but fuck you anyway (Same school, it was a mix of teachers' pets plus a few "teachers")
      3) No you're not getting bullied stop tattling (a progression of the previous one - this is how I learned telling people doesn't do shit)
      4) Well I didn't _see_ the bully do anything (this was sometimes bullshit and sometimes not, but see above)
      5) No running, not even away from people who want to bully you (I mean, really)
      6) You didn't fulfil a teacher's request (like... sorry I was unresponsive, 15-year old kids generally have a good reason for crying and in my case that wasn't one that was going away easily)

    I used to now a lot of hypocrites. Friend that would go to anti-drug marches and rant about how terrible it was. He was a drug dealer. Another friend raised her family on welfare, 20 years, and gets on social media every day talking about moochers and how people need to pay for their own kids, not tax payers. Another woman I worked with insulted another woman because she filed for divorce from an abusive husband. The woman insulting her had been married six times. Cheated on each husband. I made sure everyone knew the truth.

    My father: last time I ever heard from him he told me "that harbouring so much anger cannot be good" and that I should talk to him more. My earliest memory of him is beating his dog senseless cause she bled a few times on the carpet ( I was 5). And that's only the tip of the iceberg. That entire family is so fucked up I got to 30 years of age and barely understand my own self let alone other people. I dont remember when was the last I talked to him

    • @gnarthdarkanen7464
      @gnarthdarkanen7464 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Okay, anger isn't good, and rage isn't healthy... Hate takes energy, and is an active verb in my book... SO it takes quite a lot for me to hate someone... (just to be clear here)...
      However, there's a BIG difference between harboring anger or rage, and just eliminating a HORRIBLE influence from your life. It can't be healthy to associate with the kind of socio/psycho-path who would beat a dog for bleeding... let alone whatever else might constitute "the iceberg" you mentioned...
      The healthy thing, then, is to get away from that AWFUL influence and the person responsible for it. The other options only include continuing to associate with something clearly irrational and self destructive, OR getting yourself into a position of such danger or psychological damage that you end up doing something dangerous, self destructive, or stupid yourself just to get away again... you know... like murder.
      While the source of a given fact doesn't negate the fact's nature of profound truth or validity, it also doesn't make the source any more or less obscene an abuse than it was to begin with. You don't owe him anything. ;o)

      @@gnarthdarkanen7464 im not so much living in anger as my comment suggested. Emotion wise I'm a mess in general and other than contempt I don't feel much towards my family, or humanity in general. They ruined me, and my childhood in general with the way that raised me. I used to feel genuine dread when I thought I have to talk to or spend time with them, and now, with nearly three years of therapy I've come to the simple conclusion that I care not for them, their lives, their pains or their deaths. Not something a human should write about I guess but it is now what it is.
      Thank you, though, for reminding me, that in the end I owe them nothing

      @@bojansarkanjac983 Good... AND thanks for remembering... for yourself.
      I wrote that first bit, NOT because of some sense you actually harbored any anger. I suspected you didn't and it was an empty accusation... My father would try that same crap with me...
      ...only he wasn't wrong.
      I wrote it (hopeful) to suggest better terms, starting with how I defined that anger, rage, and hate... to give a peak into my perspective...
      Repeated empty accusations can frustrate us up to the point we start to suspect they're more than empty accusations... AND that gives toxic pieces of excrement a foot through our figurative door.
      It took me some several years on my own to figure it out... AND to finally just quit feeling anything about my father all together... Someone else took it up as a responsibility to tell me, or I wouldn't even know he'd died.
      SO remember to breathe. Search for your center and balance... FOR YOURSELF. You have your hands full being responsible for you, the one (out of 7 billion motherfuckers) over whom you actually carry any power or responsibility for.
      As we've covered you don't owe them anything... You'll make it from here. I believe in you. ;o)

    Not to get overly political but a lot of these stories have one of two themes:
    1) failing to practice what they preach
    2) complete lack of empathy and understanding for others until the problem directly affects them
    I see this almost exclusively from my conservative side of the family and especially in the religious institutions they’re involved with. The women who run the churches they attend will blackball members who’s children give birth out of wedlock, yet the head of the church committee’s daughter gets a free pass because “Jesus has a plan for all of us.”
    I see a lot with criminal sentencing too. Apparently drug addicts should be put out of their misery because theyre nothing but burdens on society (i know...real Jesus-like) until one of their sons get busted and then its all about “good people making a bad choice”
    Its really sickening. I dont talk to them much anymore. Just hear the stories from my parents.

    • @purelysmetalnightcore
      @purelysmetalnightcore 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I see that too, so I'm not disagreeing, I'm just adding to the conversation. I also see that stuff in democrats and that includes religious beliefs. I've seen democrats be in full support of the death penalty and not care that minorities and those with mental impairments that affect judgment are disproportionately likely to receive it. I see democrats claim to be very passionate about ending human/child trafficking yet flip out when actions are taken to limit those transactions and exposure because it hurts real sex workers. Sorry not sorry, but I'd rather every sex worker that likes what they do get a different job than one more non-con act be posted to PH. I've seen democrats say fetuses are not alive and are just a bunch of cells. If it has cells, it's alive. No one wants to admit that the abortion issue is solely about ethics and philosophy and not science, because there is scientific consensus that life begins at conception. Also don't see much care from democrats about how females, minorities, and the disabled are disproportionately aborted around the globe where statistics are available. Lastly, you cannot be Christian, Jewish, or Muslim and support abortion, sex work, or homosexual relations. That is resoundingly clear in each holy book and accompanying text. All religious democrats are hypocrites by nature. Being religious is about conforming your life and values around your faith because, to you, that is the correct way to live, not the other way around.

    • @tanzaf4094
      @tanzaf4094 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@purelysmetalnightcore Many religions have outright outdated policies. I personally don't agree with your argument- that you have to follow everything in a given book. As long as you follow the main theme which is being kind to others, peace etc I would consider them religious.

    • @purelysmetalnightcore
      @purelysmetalnightcore 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@tanzaf4094 This is going to come across as aggressive so I don't mean to talk down or demean you in any way, I hope you understand. I'm also not trying to present myself as sinless, but I do strive to be so and seek reconciliation when I fail. I can't speak for any other than my own, but my religion is not outdated. Again, the whole point of having faith is to believe that the lessons and rules outlined by the Holy Book as well as the saints, theologists, and historians that put them into context are the correct and most holy way to live. You can't say "I believe in Jesus, except the part where He said this thing was bad and wrong," because it suits YOU. You are supposed to suit HIM out of reverence. Because God knows all, He knew how life and culture would evolve in 2000+ years and what He still wanted us to do and follow regardless.
      To religious people, life is supposed to be about living the faith, not forcing your faith to bend around the life you want to live. When that happens all values are subjective, a person's love for the Lord becomes conditional, and there is no longer one set way to live that will grant you everlasting life (even though this is very clearly defined). Heaven is only for the faithful, the holy, the charitable, and that won't change because there are some people that don't like the idea of being held accountable to their sins.

    Worst I encountered was a priest while I was doing court assigned community service. He would:
    1. Lie/short the hours people worked to the courts.
    2. Hold wedding receptions at the church and charge as though (and tell the guests) the people doing C/S were paid staff.
    3. Would serve leftovers from previous receptions. Thus selling the same tray of food twice.
    4. Preached forgiveness from the pulpit while condemning us in private conversations.
    5. Preached piety while driving a 1yo Mercedes. Then hearing that every year he'd trade in, so that he ALWAYS had a 1yo Mercedes.
    6. Said nothing when the parishioners would demean and degrade us.
    7. Would give us nasty looks if we spoke to anyone not on C/S. Then would insult us for having the audacity to speak to "good Christians".
    Why did I have C/S? My brother (15) and I (17) were out past Illinois state curfew for minors. I was hit with "contributing to the delinquency of a minor". We were picked up by the police while trying to find a payphone to call our parents. Our planned ride home had gotten mad and kicked everyone out of his car. Had he not, my brother, myself, and two friends would have all been home on time. 20+ years later, still mad at the priest, the parishioners, the church, the ride, the former friend who got us all kicked out of the car, the city cops, and the state.

    I'm sure there have been worse instances but I will name a few:
    1. Peaceful BLM protesters got tear-gassed, shot with rubber bullets, beaten, etc., while the mob that broke into the Capitol building got to take selfies with the police and were not treated like the BLM protesters. There was also this one guy who broke into Nancy Pelosi's office and stole her mail. I'm pretty sure that is a crime and I'm pretty sure that guy didn't get arrested (or at least not yet and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
    Edit: A bunch of news sites (CNN, Inside Edition, etc.) are saying that the people that vandalized the Capital are being arrested so I'm glad their karma has come back to them. Also ridiculous how some of these people call themselves patriots while defacing American taxpayer property.
    2. Fox News said that Kamala Harris is keeping criminals in overcrowded prisons. They also said that she is letting tons of criminals out into the streets. How is she supposed to keep them in overcrowded prisons when she is letting them out onto the streets, Fox News?
    3. I'm don't remember what exactly Trump did, but I know he openly mistreated veterans. This is coming from the guy who dodged the draft because he had "bone spurs".
    4. I have said this in another comments section and I will put it here. So basically, my dad said he hated doing math and hated doing the homework from extracurricular math tuition teachers. Yet he signed his 2 daughters up for an extracurricular math tuition teacher and doesn't really do anything when they complain they get too much homework (and I'm not exaggerating because the hw I get from that teacher usually takes a day to do, and I could be spending that day doing my school hw or spending time with nonexistent friends but no, I have to do the hw that takes me too long to do).
    Also, I know I'm a hypocrite myself because I have my own version of Trump's "Fake news" line, but tbh, I use it more as a joke (the way I see it), and whenever I use it, the majority of the time, my family just repeats what I say in a high-pitched voice.

I tell her she makes me unhappy and she says I’m just like my daddy and that I should be grateful she didn’t go against her religion & abort me and my brother like her doctors wanted (geriatric and high risk pregnancies). (Christian here) I hate how so many Christians are hypocrites when Jesus Himself always called out the hypocrites. :(

    I effing hate hypocrites. Except for the "good" kind, like Oskar Schindler, but I expect those are few and far between. My mom is the hugest hypocrite I know personally--- not one, big enormous example of hypocrisy like in this video, but lots of smaller things.
