    Let's all appreciate that Adam hiked the hardest mile of the AT like 5 times getting all that footage 👏 😆

      You could say I hiked it NOBO and SOBO simultaneously 🤣

    I see what they mean hardest mile on the Appalachian trail and your filming at the same time !! I was nervous for you too there might be critters in those caves. Thank you for all your hard work.

      Yes took me so long to capture it but it was dang rewarding! Loved every minute of it!

    Thank you for going through all the caverns and boulders five or six times to get the shots!!! Also barely see any of the white blazes. Looks like they need to repaint out there

    I always enjoy your videos. I can’t imagine the amount of back-and-forth required to set up all the shots. I did Mahoosuc Notch in 1980 when I solo backpacked the Mahoosuc Trail from Gorham to Grafton Notch. It started raining when I was about 100 feet into the Notch and it continued pouring heavily the entire way. The sun came out just as I exited the northern end. I had a then-current Kelty external frame pack, the kind that extends way up over your head. Even in the rain I didn’t think the Notch was that bad, although the fact that I was 20 years old probably had a lot to do with it. LOL. Climbing the Arm was the more difficult and dangerous of the two.

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s more than you even imagine! For those super cool caves it was multiplied by two to three to get full coverage of everything from cool angles to pick from later haha. O gosh! Ya I bow down to those who attempt it in that inclement weather. That’s absolutely crazy. Glad it was able to bring back some memories. My legs sure remembered that time on the arm. Luckily leg day is my favorite haha and it required less squeezing from me.

  • @AdamHoyt
    @AdamHoyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Rest assured the bridge has long since been finished! Not as much road walking required from the NH side now. What a thrilling challenge!

    What a stunning video and tour. Hands down the best one of the Notch. That place gives me claustrophobic nightmares. As you said, it makes me nervous, too. 😆 Adam, you made it look fairly easy. Bravo! Five stars ⭐️! Can’t wait to see more of your hiking videos.

    NOBO, SOBO, NOBO, definitely the hardest mile on the AT. And nope I've never done it but everyone says the same. Those Thru-Hikers were really crushing those miles. A really great Hike and video. Was Drone footage possible of the Notch at all. It would be nice to see it from above. Irregardless a great Hike Adam and thanks for taking us along!!! I thought you were going to say at the end as a joke 'this was just a walk in the forest' or 'a road less travelled' then crack up laughing. Thanks again Adam.

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad you enjoyed it, my legs sure got their moneys worth haha. Certainly some slow going. So I only fly my drone where I am legally allowed to. I need to set a good example for the people watching my channel. You are not allowed to take off from the Appalachian Trail itself at all, and everywhere else besides just off the summit of the arm that was not the AT had too much tree cover for me to take off successfully. I really should do that some time, pretend an obviously hard trail was super easy hahaha.

      @@AdamHoyt It was a blast
      I felt like a v.i.p.! You should definitely go again! That place is a playground when you're not trying to make miles. I think the fastest I've made it through was about 45 minutes, it was raining and I was hauling tail worried about more of those cliffs coming down. I also had the unfortunate luck to do the notch the year a moose fell into it. They couldn't get the moose out and the trail passed within feet of the carcass. THAT was awful.

    The shot of you coming out of basically a rock wall at 16:35 had me doing a double take. Great video as always!! What trails are you looking to do in the winter?

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was the funniest part for me. I was like wholly crap that will be a crazy shot. Could not believe that was the exit. Eventually I'll get around to some! I'll be first to admit snow hiking is not my favorite. S I may do some smaller easier ones. Like mt major. We shall see! See what I feel like.

    • @AdamHoyt
      @AdamHoyt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      O yes all the arrows make sure to tell you which caves to scramble inside. It's still super tough following those blazes. It's a notch so only so many ways to go haha.
