- I find I am more inspired to make cards when using older supplies I love and not what is new and trendy. Many of the products I use will be discontinued, but they are classic designs, like butterflies, flowers, and swirls that can be substituted for when you have them in your stash. Use supplies and colors you love and create a card for someone you love!

I really miss your card making videos. I know you're taking your channel in a different direction, but we old-time Lindsay viewers love and miss the old content. Thanks for allowing us to reminisce with your card making content. When I have a bad day, I go to one of your card making playlists and they always make me happy. Thanks for this video...made my day! Sandy
Aww, that's so sweet:)
I absolutely agree with you dear. I miss these card and stamping videos and when I'm feeling blue I hop on to her channel for some relaxation. I can totally relate to u
I knew I wasn't the only one...thanks for chiming in with me.
The card is very pretty, but the envelope is GORGEOUS!!!
Thank you so much!
I’ll be right back that video after my lunch. Actually I loved she’s does do the card making she is my favorite person
Thanks 😊
It was so nostalgic to watch a card making YT using what you already have! Going back to just having fun and playing with your supplies. Gets that creative mojo moving in all our brains. I normally just listen to your YT but this is one I had to watch from beginning to end with a big cup of coffee this morning! Thank you!
Aww, thank you!
Full of great tips, thanks. I am a journal-maker rather than a card maker, but your tips (on backgrounds, compositions and materials) work just as well for the inspiration I need. Beautiful card. Your daughter will love it, surely.
Glad it was helpful! She loved the card!
Aren't your daughter twins? I somehow seem to think so 🤔. Did you do a second card?@@thefrugalcrafter
Gorgeous card Lindsey! Love the color palette and the different layers and textures! The envelope is just as stunning! I'm sure your daughter loved it! It could be framed as a piece of artwork! tfs hugs💞
This is a such a treat of a video! Love all your content, but takes me back to the early days of videos with your stash. ☺️
Oh thank you!
You're so brave, putting that scroll design over the beautiful chalky pastel base layer. I would never think of doing something like that, but it works beautifully! And putting the cardstock on top of the inked layer ~ wow! I love the super clear impression you got. And spot lighting ~ I love that technique, too. I'm always learning so many useful things in your cardmaking videos. Thank you for continuing to do them!
Thank you so much!
I know you prefer to paint...which are AMAZING AT...but, you took the time to make us a pretty card...
Always enjoy seeing these!
Thank you. 😊
Thank you so much!
Thank you for constantly reminding us to use what we have and think before we purchase. I unfortunately have given away my entire stash twice due to illness, only to try to buy things back, which is not only costly, but obviously some things simply don’t exist anymore. Then I got trapped in the “I have to buy the latest release” only to have stuff I was unhappy with. I really appreciate that you have a style and you use what you love and aren’t constantly buying new (okay at least with stamps, I know you can’t resist a cute palette or a sketchbook, but we all have something like that 😉). The card and the envelope are gorgeous and I’m sure your daughter loved it.
She did! Thanks!
Super fun and informative, even for non-card makers. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the first technique! Love your card making! ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!
Recently bought some ephemera, and discovered the fun of adding some of these elements to my cards. Thanks for this video. Perfect timing for me.
Wonderful!
This is gorgeous! I neither make cards nor even send store bought cards, but I love your card making videos.
Thank you so much!
I absolutely love it when you bring older supplies out to play with helping the rest of us to be creative with what supplies we have that are maybe even collecting dust cause we feel the need to use the latest and greatest when things we have gave us joy when we acquired them too and they can again just by using them. Thank you.
They sure will, and often, our older supplies are better quality!
Wow! Both the card and envelope are so beautiful! I love to see what you create!
Thank you so much!
I miss the card videos! Thanks for the reminder
Glad you like them!
your card is beautiful. I like the amount of decorating the inside and the whole envelope. I decorate everywhere but not as much, great idea. stamping the background stamp in a light, blending with the paper is cool also.
Thank you so much! I figure I might as well use leftovers to decorate the inside rather than have to put it away!
So good to seeing you making cards again. That is why I first started following you. Thanks!
You are so welcome!
You never disappoint. When I saw that butterfly, I knew immediately it was PSE. I have several toy boxes with their stamps. Simply the best. Your daughter will be bowled over receiving such a special delivery. Happy Birthday to her. ❤
She loved it !
Love your card and your cardmaking videos... I miss those videos.
Glad you like them!
Thank you for the card video!! So pretty! Love it, Lindsay!
You are so welcome!
So very beautiful!! I really appreciate that you say use what you have!! So many make you think you have to have all the new products!! And when you are on a budget that is not possible!! I have supplies from 15 yrs ago!! This was so helpful!! Thanks so much!!
Thanks 😊
Only fifteen years? I've been crafting for a long time too, and don't see the need to throw out things that are perfectly good, because they aren't exactly on trend. They come back into fashion, anyway, and if they don't, who cares?
These beautiful cards would send me on a hunt for classic stamp sets .
Thanks!
@@thefrugalcrafter I really should start making cards again, I have a crap ton of supplies for the. 😄
Beautiful card, thanks Lindsay!
Thanks so much!
Very pretty card. I enjoy watching your process.
Thank you so much!
I love the card you made. I learned a couple of new techniques. Thank you so much!. It's a beautiful card.
Thanks 😊
Your daughter will love this gorgeous card; had fun viewing your thought process. Thanks for posting!! Now onto card #2 for second daughter!!😂❤💜👍🏾😘
I just need to edit it then I have 3 more family birthday cards to make 😆
Always love your card making videos. I learn so many new creative and money saving tips. Please do more for the card maker viewers you have. Your birthday card is beautiful.
More to come!
Great tips! Using a scoreboard with the tracing tool was a 💡 for me!
Glad it was helpful!
Stunning envelope! Beautiful, crafty card that your daughter will undoubtedly LOVE!!! Your card videos are my favorite.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for posting this. I just got into junk journaling and I think it will pair beautifully with card making and stamping! I miss the card videos too!
Great idea!
faux postage stamps are one of my favorite embellishments to make. I cut out pictures from magazines, motifs from fabric, and also paint some by hand. I have quite the collection now, but I can't seem to stop!
Great idea!!
So pretty! I’ve been off pastel colours lately, but I think you’ve brought me back 😍
I'm so glad!
Super cardmaking video, I love collage cards. I think you said , use what you have about 5 times today. I know it's not your fav to do these but I really love them TY.
Thank you!
Jammed packed with card making tips! Thanks so much!!
You are so welcome!
What a beautiful card! It looks like it would be meditative and relaxing to make a card as you just said. I am sure your daughter will love this card. ❤❤😊😊
Thanks, she did!
Such fun to watch you create. More more
I have one more done I need to edit and then 3 more cards to make as it is birthday season in my family so I should have 4 more cardmaking videos coming!
I'm not into card making but I always enjoy seeing what you do with your supplies 🙂
Thanks so much!
Thank you for reminding us of the Popping Pastels technique ❤❤❤
My pleasure 😊
I absolutely love how u make your own patterns indtead of just buying pattern papers.... They sometimes just don't fit well with the theme and you always have this urge of buying all the different designs and you actually end up spending a lot 💰💰💰💰.. so just be frugal and keep crafting 😊😊 I have been following you for years now ... Maybe almost a decade, never regretted. ❤❤
Yay!
Really loved this video - thanks Lindsay!
You're so welcome!
thank you for reminding me about several older techniques that i had completely forgotten about. Sometimes i get so caught up in the 'new' stuff i forget about some of the 'golden oldies'...and i've been doing this paper crafting thing for almost 30 years. the cool thing is...i love it just as much today as the day i watched a demo of embossing powder melting...love watching you do your thing Lindsay!
Thanks! I should probably update some of my techniques 😆 🤣 😂
@@thefrugalcrafter I think there are enough “newbies” that also
Might appreciate learning these tried by true techniques. At least I hope so!
@@cherrylgreene1495 not just them but us “oldies” who either didn’t learn one or have “forgotten” it appreciate them too! 💕💕💕
I saved this tutorial, 🤩 love your card, envelop and techniques. I am very inspired. Thank you
So glad!
What a wonderful video! Thank you so much. Definitely going into my saved favorites.
You are so welcome!
That is one GORGEOUS card! 🥰
Thank you!
I love your cards! They’re always so gorgeous!
Thank you!
Beautiful card and envelope! Your daughter will love it!
Thank you so much!
Oh, I like using older supplies! I don’t want to have to go and buy all the ‘latest and greatest’ just to be able to create. Thank you for sharing!
So true!
What a beautiful card. I am sure your daughter loved it💕💕
She did, thanks!
Totally awesome techniques, makes me want to purchase more craft items.
Wow...that's a big honkin' acrylic block! 😮
Yes, best $25 I've spent on a stamping tool!
@@thefrugalcrafter that’s one of the supplies I gave away and can’t replace and you are right, it’s a GREAT tool!
I love your card making videos!!!!
Thank you so much!
I love this. I often stop earlier than I want to for fear of overdoing. Gosh this is my type of card.
Yay! Thanks!
Hullo Lindsay, I am just so in awe of your cards! I am just to lazy to construct a card like you and my wife! She made a dozen cards this weekend and they were so similar to yours! I took a calligraphy class in my 8th grade summer and I still have the nibs(as well as many I have purchased since) for doing sentiments on my cards. I paint a picture on the front, a flower or other floral combination, even a lakeside attraction! Place a script down then go inside to sign and offer a platitude or well wishes! I believe that my last card was a rose with Happy Birthday in a blue ink using my dip pen and flat nib! I used a fountain pen with a flex nib to write inside and that’s the whole deal, I just make them to order. I wish I could work like you or my wife I just don’t have the patience to create a card for future events! I sure do admire those of you who can! Thank you for sharing this video experience with your viewers! Now go enjoy the lovely day!
Ha! I made this the night before her birthday!
I always enjoy your card-making videos, I even join in 'No, don't put it there, try it on the other ... oh yes, perhaps it is better there' 😁 Thank you for sharing your thought processes!
Oh thank you!
Thank you! Wonderful card!
You are so welcome!
Lovely! Thanks for advice to choose what fits one’s style instead of opting for trends! Have many “trend” supplies that are gathering dust!
I think we all do!
@@antoinettelempicki9775 oh my word you just spoke the truth
Such a pretty card... I'm sure your daughter loved it!
She did!
I love it! It’s fun to watch the process and helps give me ideas to go and ship my stash for more crafting.
I'm so glad!
I love your cards so much!!!❤🎉
Thanks so much:)
I love the card and envelope, so beautiful! I had to check out Technique Junkies because of the beautiful background stamps you used and now I am $76. poorer. Ha,Ha! They had such pretty stamps I couldn't resist. Thanks Lindsay, I'm glad I watched your show today!
The quality it top notch and you will be glad you got them because you won't be able to in a few months when Pat retires:) enjoy!
"Tearable. Not terrible." 😄 The birthday card looks beautiful!! I love those postage stamps, and the birdie was just perfect inside. And omg, the envelope - gorgeous!! This card is so special and meaningful 💗
Thanks so much! 😊 Maizy loved it!
Hello, Lindsay. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
I’m loving these mixed-media projects you’ve been doing! I’m pulling out old unused supplies and using them. So satisfying! Loved the card! I watched while stamping butcher paper for bday gift wrap…maybe I’ll make a card like yours to match the wrap:)
Perfect!
Such a fantastically pretty card & envelope, Lindsay! I love the collage look you achieved. I'm sure your daughter will love it (assuming she hasn't gotten it already, in which case I'm sure she DOES love it!). Thank you for sharing. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
Thank you so much! She did love it!
You have inspired me to make a card, and to use my old supplies! Thank you for your helpful tips. Your card is beautiful!
Wonderful! Have fun!
I love the stamps, they are so cute ☺☺

Thank you so much!
Love this look, Lindsey! ❤
Thank you!!
Another stunner, so beautiful!❤
Thank you! Cheers!
What a gorgeous card! ❤
Thanks so much!
FABULOUS video! 🩷
Thanks 😊
Great tips and tricks. I love making cards and always wanted to try a mixed media or collage type, but I am not the best at the cohesive part, so THANK YOU for doing this video.
You are so welcome!
Your daughter's card turned out beautiful. I love collage- style cards. Fiskars still sells the decorative edge scissors as do several other brands.
Thanks for the info!
Love this, I have soft pastels that have been languishing ❤
Wonderful!
I love your card it is really Awesome , I have a Minc foil machine and I hot foil cards with PanPastels ...I also got a Cricut Maker but not used yet . Love to do 3D Decoupage cards too. I use digital prints I brought from Esty and backing paper pads.
Make cards are super fun xxxxxxx Thank you for your tips ..love your vintage stamps. Thanks for sharing xxx Happy crafting xxx
Fun machines!
Sweet!!🎉
Thanks! 😁
OMGee! I have a smaller set of metallic and non-metallic Pebbles chalks too. (Thought it was the same as yours but it's not.) I pulled mine out recently too. They do give a really super soft color lay-down so Im glad I still have them. I am, however, slowly working on destashing some of my older crafting or cheaper art supplies that have just been sitting for way too long. And as you know, with some moist or liquid coloring supplies they will eventually dry out and there's no bringing them back. I think I'm gonna give most of my stash of crafting paint away. I never used it much after I got it, like 7 or 8 years ago (like Apple Barrel, Folk Art, Craft Smart, etc.) So it would be good to make the cut sooner rather than later and while they're still usable, let them go to someone or somewhere else, and maybe they can make better use of it all.
Yes, pass it on while it can still be used.
i have those exact type of brown paper cards/envelopes but never knew how to approach it because most markers/inks appeared dull on the background when i tried it out the first time
i will now be trying these cards out again and hopefully this time i will have better results, thanks to you!!
You'll love it!
The Distress Oxide you stamp over the three butterflies is Antique Linen.
Thanks!
Love your card .. you mentions clear embossing fluid could help condition rubber stamps. Do you have any idea how to condition stamps that have hardened to get them back to working better? Appreciate any suggestions!!!
Coat them in glycerin, it's virtually the dame as clear embossing ink.
I will definitely be back to watch this with a cup of coffee... How do you mail cards that have buttons and ribbons and such. My postoffice give me such trouble.. Now if its not completely flat and flexible they want to charge me a package rate... ! Anyway... i'll be back. Hugs! deb
I put it in my mailbox with a couple of stamps on it. Sometimes I will put a sheet of cardstock over the card front to make it smoother. If it is under 1/4" thick and flexible it should go as envelope/letter rate. I know they make "non machinable" postage stamps but I've never used them.
Just to let you know, Amazon has Strathmore Bristol paper for a really great price! 9x12, 10x14!
Thanks for the tip!
Hello Lindsay, beautiful card you made for your daughter. You said you got your heavy weight cardstock for the card base from Joann's and also Michael's had. Can you tell me cardstock weight, is it 80lb or 110 lb cardstock? Thanks for sharing your beautiful ideas. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas

I do really enjoy your card making videos. But, is your bird upside down?
No, he is swooping down.
🥰🇬🇧
🎵99 bottles of glue on the wall…🎶
Is that Vintage Photo Distress Oxide you use over the popping pastels?
I think so, I'm not totally sure, I have the 1st 2 releases if the distress oxides and a couple random colors.
Keep your loc tite in the refrigerator. It keeps it from drying out longer
Thanks for the tip!
Where did you get the huge stamp platform/holder?
It's a mega mount from impression Obsession but I don't think they make them anymore.
Does oxide inks stay vibrant for longer, than distress inks? Isn't oxide inks toxic?
I'm not sure how lightfast it is. I don't worry about it on a card.
Distress oxide ink pads aren't toxic, but there is a CL lable on the sprays due to some ingredients.
Hey I wanted to get deli paper to stamp on for my own collage paper as well as to use for Gelli printing. Any particular one on Amazon or does it not matter. I had a huge stash from BJ’s that I gave away and I can’t remember what kind. Thanks to anyone who can help.
I got mine from Sam's club. Any should be fine.
