I’ve had some great success cleaning carpet stains, old an new, using baking soda. Then the vacuum sweeper started overheating and quit working. Apparently the baking soda passes through the filter into the motor. So check this out before ruining your vacuum sweeper.
I found the same thing when using this trick. I have to admit I went a little overboard on the baking soda though. My Mom bought me a carpet cleaner so I mostly use that now. When I worked in the hospital we used shaving cream on bad messes, but I never thought of using it on carpet. I will have to try for the shadow stains that I don’t know if I am imagining or not 😅

Can never understand why people with pets and /or kids have carpet. When laminated or wooden floors are probably more hygenic & easier to clean. maybe a little feature rug by a fireplace.
I live in a 2400 sq. ft. house and it's all carpet except for the kitchen and bathrooms and your comment has a lot of merit to as I have been contemplating for some time now on ripping it all up and going to hardwood even the stairs, besides I believe carpet has gone or is going the way of wallpaper and wood paneling.

If you feed your cats food without dyes in them (meaning quality food) you can leave the cat vomit alone for a few days, it will dry up and then you can easily vacuum it out! It will leave no stain. Plus, you will have a healthier cat and maybe less hairballs, too.

You can use the rounded flat surface on back or for really tough spots use the tip of the spoon. Much less fiber wear on your carpet with the same scrubbing power. This also works really well with things like muds, puppy poo, etc. Delicately scoop under to remove bulk of soil. Allow to dry, tgen use spoon to scrap gently gently to loosen soil from carpet fibers and then vacuum well. Any residual use solution of 50/50 peroxide and water with a dash of blue dawn soap. Spray, let sit for a few minutes and then blot dry. Ta Da! We have several animals, so I have a spoon specifically for carpet cleaning.
And you are supposed to use the product on your face?😮 That is why I don’t trust the beauty company out there, they will use anything because it goes on your skin not on theirs.
On plush carpet, I’ve used a laundry stain remover (advanced strength) & dish cleaner, let it sit for an hr, then used a warm, wet cloth & rubbed/squished it with my foot, like you would a bug & that worked really well

We used to use coffee out of the can, sprinkle it all over, let it sit for awhile, couple hours, then vacuum up or in our wash out the trailer, we hauled fish and cantaloupe, it works great. Even did this in old cars carpet...cheap coffee, poke holes in top, sprinkle like salt....
With wet stains like pet accidents I get as much of the moisture out of the carpet as possible then add water and again soak up as much as possible with cleaning towels. I then cover the area with baking soda and cover with paper towels. I leave the paper towels and cover the whole thing with cleaning towels if it’s in a high traffic area. I remove the towels and paper towels and let it dry over night. The next day all of the moisture has been wicked up into the baking soda which should now be dry. I remove as much as possible with a broom and dustpan then vacuum with a shop vac. Using a regular household vacuum is not a good idea as the fine particles will get in the motor and ruin it.
That baking soda is no joke I bought a purse at the Goodwell it was leather but the inside smelled. I put baking soda in the purse sealed it in a bag for a week shook it up every once in a while and dude the smell was gone
Ma'am, I have a stain problem. I live in an apt and maintenance recently installed a new toilet. When they were carrying out the old toilet, they sat the old one down on the carpet to get a better grip. Well--the wax on the bottom of the toilet stained the carpet. I used shaving cream, an all-purpose cleaner, and water, but to no avail. The stain is still in the carpet. I have a photo to show you--if I could. How can I get this darn wax and stain out of the carpet?
I actually tried that once at the top of my stairs where the cat had been sick and I had one hell of a job getting the stuff off it was a nightmare it created a thick slimy mess I couldn’t get rid of but eventually it dried in people don’t do it you’ll be sorry honestly!
I wish I had seen this last week. Our little dog peed on the bedroom carpet and it took four days of heavy duty scrubbing and deodorizing and it still has a slight odor. I'm going to give this a try! Thanks!
You will do better by using an enzyme cleaner---Nature's Miracle---this is truly a miracle! ALWAYS have it around with critters! My big Husky once got skunked, close proximity, and with me spraying and wiping him down with that over and over---he was odor free!! I couldn't believe it, either. No tomato juice, no bath. Miracle! Don't Be home without it!
I read to get wax out of carpet, put paper towels over the wax and use a hand-held hair blow dryer over the spot to warm and melt the wax. The wax should adhere to the paper toweling. I hope you've found a cleaning hack before now but if not maybe this hack will do the trick.
I discovered how to get stains out of carpet. Soak with sponge spray with CLR and scrub and then absorb with paper towel. Took out the stains the carpet cleaner could not.

Not really, unless it's a grease stain. Try using dawn on an ink stain, you're better off just cutting that section of the carpet out and replacing it.

@@jonathanagudelo691 blotted it on and used a wet sponge. For tougher stains i used a nylon bristle brush and scrubbed till clean

I'm a cat owner I have been practically my whole life ( since I moved out on my own) and nobody can tell I even have a cat, until they see her.
I love all the cats I've had over the years with all my heart, but some of them gave me a hard time with how much they threw up on the carpet.

Use a carpet vacuum and Odoban linen scent, it’s found at Home Depot. That will actually get rid of scent.

Carpet cleaner. That's what it's made to do, to clean carpets.
Yet most of them DON'T WORK, so you have to spent more, how convenient.
The only issue have is that you always tackle any spot with a white cloth

Yes that trick works, that terrible dark stain is gone , it blends in perfectly with all the other light stains on your carpet.
A personal carpet cleaning machine isvery good ...for lite or spot use
also expensive.
Gets rid of that nasty 5 O'Clock shadow.
