If Spain didn't colonized my country Philippines for over 300 years, we could also have our ancient buildings, artifacts that we can brag about are culture. The Spain ruins our country.. As well as our future but we are striving. Nways as a neighboring country to you our good friend Vietnam, we are proud of you.. Keep rising all Asian countries. May we all rise from the effects of colonization of the western nation... God bless

Hội An , formerly known as Fai-Fo or Faifoo, is a city with a population of approximately 120,000 in Vietnam's Quảng Nam Province and noted since 1999 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Old Town Hội An, the city's historic district, is recognized as an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century, its buildings and street plan reflecting a unique blend of influences, indigenous and foreign. Prominent in the city's old town, is its covered "Japanese Bridge," dating to the 16th-17th century.

Great vid about Hoi An! A friend is touring there now, so I watched your vid to get an idea of what he's seeing. I've watched several of your vids - they're all very informative and well-produced. I liked the cultural and historical background that you give about the places. More power to you. Best regards from the Philippines!

Hi Art, I went back to this vid to check if you replied to my comment, and you did! :-) If ever you plan to film in or near Manila, I would gladly show you around. I live in the province of Laguna (near Manila - south of it), where there are many waterfalls and hot springs, so if you're interested in that, then you can contact me and I'll show you around. Btw, I've been to Thailand 3x already. Sawasdee ka! (hope I said that right).

In your segment ahout silk, you say that the Vietnamese and Cham had a good relationship. I can understand why this version of events is presented; it is the official interpretation of what was actually in history and still today as very one-sided relationship, all in favor of the ethnic Youn (Vietnemese). I say this as a lifelong Champa research since the completion of my 1972 Master thesis (Geography, University of Hawaii) that reconstructed the economy of ancient Champa has has been cited several times in Southeast Asia textbooks.
Having said this, I am gratful for your ooverage of My Son. One other interesting Cham relic right in the middle of Hoi An is a Cham well, the single reason I would visit Hoi An.

Share Life Vlog if you look st historic data you’ll notice that economies didn’t suffer, but actually improved under western colonisation.
