It doesn't appear to be possible forge a near replica of the notebook within a single night however the SPK managed to get into the bank by creating copies of Mikami's keys
@@clueanalysis2596 it doesn’t seem impossible for near? To copy hundreds of thousands of names in complete sync on a microscopic scale, he looked through a microscope and there wasn’t a difference, and to do that in one day that is physically impossible
They definitely did it illegally as they weren't even a part of fbi cia( or anything like that) at that point and spk was disbanded by us government so spk was not supposed to have the right to search for kira let alone going in mikami's locker
I still think the dumbest thing Light ever did was to kill Raye Penber. Killing him instantly brought Ls attention to the people he was observing, which was a very small circle of people that included Light himself. He did splendid work making Penber think that Light was innocent (during that bus incident), if he had left him alive, there would be a living FBI agent willing to testify "Nah, Light's not Kira". What better proof of innocence could you get? Instead he did the exact opposite and, surprise surprise, L immediately drew all his attention to Light. It was a massive blunder and most definitely the beginning of Light's downfall.
Light didn’t know that Raye was going to stop investigating him or how long the investigation was going to last so he had to get rid of him for him to have free movement. He did at least wait until he thought it would less suspicious if he died and he killed all of the agents sent to Japan at the same time, so it stands to reason that it would be untraceable back to him, but L noticed an oversight that Light didn’t just like Light noticed Naomi when L forgot about her.

that’s like the whole point of light’s character, he’s arrogant and can’t hold himself back. you could just as easily say Light should’ve never done anything that made L suspicious but then he wouldn’t be Light Yagami and there wouldn’t be a story
Near's deductive reasoning onto why Mikami is X-kira is shown in the manga ... its explained perfectly and makes sense, the anime just has less information compared to the manga
If Yagami decided to wait hours or days before deciding to kill Lind L Taylor, L would've been fucked because his plan to significantly narrow down the location of Kira* would've failed if not sent him into a wild goose chase looking for Kira in Madagascar.
@@stevenyoung9738 I dont think so, the entire point was that this person was arrested in secret and no one in the world knew about it and that broadcast was being done specifically in localized areas but claiming to be done al over the world. it would have been nearly impossible for this plan to work because all light had to do was set the date to be a few days later and wherever the broadcast was THAT would have likely been the place L would have started to look, but no, light wanted to make a point that didnt need to be made in the first place and had a hissy fit that someone didnt like he was killing people who were convicted criminals.
@steven young I said it wasn't relevant, the guy they had was arrested in secret, so it made no sense to use multiple people as that would be extra work for no beneficial gain.
This focused on team Kira's blunders, but the biggest blunder on the show for me is Raye Penbers' wife's death. The police at that desk just cease to exist after Light leaves the station. They never mention a girl saying she had information. Upon her being declared missing they never mention she disappeared the same day she left the building with Light. When L discovers she's gone missing he doesn't trace her steps, even though for him that would be extremely simple.
I think the idea was that the police at the desk thought that Naomi talked to Light's father so they didn't bother mentioning her to anyone. L probably did look into Naomi missing, but he wouldn't have known to have looked specifically at where she was seen last as he didn't know she came to the police station
Yeah that was shit. I didn't pay it much attention the first time, but on a re-watch, not only I felt really sad for Naomi, but also it was a big plothole. The Only in world explanation is Luck. Light just got lucky, pretty much. But it was cheap writing honestly. Death Note is much more flawed when inspected closely. When I was 16 I thought it's the smartest shit I ever seen. Then rewatched it again now at 26 and found a ton of things that don't make sense. L's death being one of the biggest asspulls in all of anime.
Agreed it was bit if a stupid moment and I feel is a big plot hole. I can accept the conclusion above that the person at the desk probably just thought that she gave the information anyway, but once there was an investigation into her disappearance (remember there was a theory from the investigation team suspected she figured something out about Kira) it should have been easy for investigation team to find out that she tried to reach them. All they had to do was ask the guy at the desk if this lady tried to contact them. From there there guy would recollect that Light was there at the time too or they would figure it out when reviewing security tapes (remember it's a police precinct, it would be highly unusual for there not to be security cameras). What's more they specifically sent a team member back to the precinct in case someone came with information about Kira comes along but a few seconds too late. It was pretty stupid for him not to ask the front desk if anyone has come along with information about Kira while they were gone. Especially that is the reason he was sent back there in the first place.
L's ego proved fatal. He had no need to expose that the broadcast was only in that region in Japan. Light would've acted more carelessly and got caught. L was too arrogant
@@giovannifrrri5495quite the opposite, light started to act much more recklessly and spiteful after learning of his rival, messing with the times of death and more
@@giovannifrrri5495 Actually, L had already traced the profile of Kira as beign a childish person trying to become God. So challenging Light worked. Light started to use inside info from the police to defy L's deductions. All that snowball led L very quickly into Light. Light should have learned from the mistake he made killing Tailor, but he kept wanting to challenge L.
For the killing Lind L Tailor moment, that's only dumb in retrospect. Imagine if in real life, someone important is killed on national TV by an unknown force. That would cause an uproar and would immediately make people not want to fight against Kira. It was only because Light didn't know there was a detective like L that was as genius as him that it backfired. In real life, this would never happen.
I kinda get that but the thing is I do believe Light did kill him not because of that reason, he was more like being scared and shocked that his adrenaline forced him to think that way
@@mcdonaldsbrokenicecreammac8561 I think he was more insulted than he was panicked. Light goes on about how he'd never be caught but as soon as Tailor calls him evil, he has a complete meltdown and impulsively kills him. He didn't come across as very scared before it.
@@nylo5186 The same thing can be said the same for light, he choose mikami randomly and it's a perfect choice, they're both smart so maybe they see the same thing. @@Repsyzz he didn't actually kill that guy, it was Takeda who killed him. The book he was writing in, was fake. He did it so that spk would believe the book was real so that they would replace the pages in it. In reality, he would take pictures of the criminals he was pretending to kill, and send them to Takeda for her to actually kill. They found the real book when he decided to go to the bank at a weird time to kill Takeda. They saw him do it and took the real book from his bank safe. Light didn't think that Mikami would do that, which is why he lost. :)
One of the dumbest moments for me was when Misa made the second Shinigami eye deal, supposedly to kill L, then just proceeded not to do that, despite having so many chances to enter HQs and remember L's name, and thus forcing Rem's hand to do the killing instead . That Shinigami eye deal was just a poor way to keep Misa ''useful'' for Light for the rest of the series, despite her being almost completely irrelevant.
I think Light would've prevented Misa from entering because he wanted Rem to kill L to get rid of her, but if Rem wasn't there then Misa would've killed L. I think it worked well for the story, I just mainly wish Misa was a completely different character. She was really annoying most of the time, all the charm she had from being an idol vanished the moment she opened her mouth.
@@clueanalysis2596 Right, I guess that worked out better than intended for Light, since Rem would have been a serious problem considering Light's plan to also get rid of Misa at some point. He might just have profited from the fact that Misa couldn't remember L's name, although it wouldn't be beyond him to have predicted that would happen and that because of it Misa would also make the deal again, thus allowing him to get a new pair of Shinigami eyes through her. Regardless, I think that the plot progression was executed poorly there after that dramatic scene of Misa halving her life span again to at least complete that so important task which she pretty much ended up ignoring.
@@Kageyami1994 I think it worked well for me in my opinion, but I can understand your point of view. I do think that some things could've been done better.
One thing I never really got is why Ryuzaki even lets the Death Note get anywhere near Light after catching Higuchi. He was able to deduce that Kira’s powers can be transferred and that if Light was Kira, his plan would be to have Kira’s powers passed back to him at some point. He then watches Light touch the Death Note, let out an unholy scream for like 10 whole seconds, and then watches Higuchi die of a heart attack RIGHT AFTER LIGHT GETS THE NOTEBOOK. L is a genius but he’s had some bruh moments
I do believe L found it suspicious Higuchi died after Light got the notebook, but the lack of Higuchi's name made it so there wasn't any proof it was Light. As well, L isn't aware of the conditions required for Light to get the power back, for all L knows touching it is all it takes. L was still suspicious of Light after all this but without any proof to act on any of it.
I saw your comment, but it's missing now. I think the lack of evidence also puts L in a mindset that he still suspects Light but not nearly as much. I for one understand this as I've had suspicions of people, but when I find a lack of evidence or contradictory evidence for it being them, I get put in a more questionable mode of the circumstances and think less of the suspect but am still suspicious of them. That's what I think at least.
Light was definitely too confident in the death note's enigma. He started killing people in his free time which gave a very obvious schedule the police latched onto. I feel like he should have just schedule people to die by heart attacks every hour from the beginning to forever, rather than letting them go the 40 secs to death during his free time. The police pinpointing his lifestyle schedule was big in suspecting him.
Yeah but as other people pointed out, there are adults with work schedules that would also give them the same free time to kill. Plus, L didn't know a boom was being used so if this was a magical mental power, what's stopping a high schooler from going to the bathroom and watching the news on a phone or portable TV and killing people during school hours? Logically it doesn't make sense to have narrowed it down to light so quickly based on what the anime said.
You forget Light was learning more and more about how the details of the death could be used. In the beginning he didn't know he could specify the time, he just knew that someone would die in 40 seconds when he wrote their name
Light really gave himself during the first part of the anime: 1- He killed Lind Taylor instead of ignoring him 2- He killed Ray Pembert instead of ignoring him 3- He intentionally showed that he could obtain information from the police 4- He intentionally showed L that he could control the actions of his victims Without all of the above, L could never have reached Light since the death note leaves no evidence or trace.
L still had clues such as Light's first victim, as it was broadcasted locally. That was also one of the reasons why they did the Lind L. Taylor broadcast in Tokyo region first. I'd say Light's first major mistakes were killing locally and then killing inmates when he was testing how far he can go with controlling them. He should have kill them discreetly during the testing, instead of showing the police at the same time that he can control them. In fact he should have kept the "controlling victims" and "controlling means of death" hidden for as long as possible.
@@havoc5756 Iirc, Light couldn't do testing on just any prisoner, since he wouldn't know whether it succeeded or not. He was on the mercy of what was broadcasted on the TV
@@havoc5756 then again if he ignored lind l taylor then they would go on to broadcast in other regions and countries. if light just killed criminals in every country there would be no way to find him
For number 3 I think of it as an offensive-defensive approach, because yes it is a huge hint for L but at the same time Light can also get close to L, because his ultimate goal is to eliminate him. But I agree that he should hide the note's abilities for longer.
@@clueanalysis2596 Until Near showed up 5 or 6 years later it's almost as if Light never had any plan to get rid of the task force. Just lead a double life of pretending to chase your tail forever.
@@shredgod6394I don't know what he was hoping for just waiting like this. If I was Light I would've planned all their deaths to take place by accidental death or by murder from another person, this way their deaths would be less suspicious, then Light could just become a Normal police officer while still pretending to be L without anyone else noticing. Light could've even gathered his own Taskforce of members he selected that all worshipped Kira if he wanted to, then he wouldn't have to worry as much about them turning against him.
@@clueanalysis2596I agree with you. Personally, I thought the ending of Death Note was definitely pretty disappointing and to this day, I still question how the hell the detective managed to even find that notebook just sitting there wide open in a box and just happened to swap it for a fake Death Note. That decision still baffles me to this day. Mikami really wasn’t that bright of a character. Death Note isn’t a bad show but I’m glad everyone agrees that the second half of this show is mediocre. That’s one thing I stand firm thinking is that after 25 episodes, this show started to go downhill and wasn’t great after they killed L. The show still wasn’t perfect in the first half but the first half was really good compared to the second one. I think the only problem with Light killing his teammates in the police force would have been that Near would’ve been able to suspect a very suspicious time that all of them just died and it would’ve been a wrench in keeping Light’s identity as Kira a secret. That wouldn’t have been as smart of a plan as you’d think. It would be suspicious that all of them just happen to die after L’s death and it would warrant some serious red flags. I think Light would’ve had to think of a really smart way to kill them so it wouldn’t have been suspicious. Instead of a heart attack, there would need to be a different realistic kind of way to kill them like by murder from another human being or by committing suicide or maybe getting torn to shreds by a machine by getting stuck in it or getting eaten by sharks. Light would have to think of ways they could die that aren’t typical in his notebook. That could make it less suspicious and make sense as a plan. Personally, I always thought it was questionable how throughout the show there weren’t really many ways people were shown being killed besides just simply having a heart attack. You think with so many ways a person could die that Light would think of a plan to make himself less suspicious from that angle that he would come up with creative ways to kill people but there’s only a few times throughout the show he comes up with any alternate ways to kill people. Someone gets hung in one episode and then I think Takada died from being burnt to death. That’s cool and all but those are like the only two times I saw someone get killed not because of a heart attack. Yeah, Light’s father died but that wasn’t because of being written in the Death Note so that doesn’t count. As for Kira followers being under Lights command, I think the only way that could work is if they found every way possible to make Light seem innocent meanwhile pretending to do an investigation on him and instead only really keeping surveillance on Near and Mello. They would have to pretend to act like they’re a little suspicious of Light to appease Near and get him off their case and they would have to also come up with a smart, methodical way to actually prove Light is innocent. Meanwhile during a bit of free time, they can spend that time with the trust they’ve gained from Near and Mello to expose their identities and then tell Kira their names and then that would be a done deal or if Near is still too stubborn about it, Light could even use Misa as a bit of extra artillery power and just expose their names that way while everyone is talking to Near and that would be done. You could argue that even with all the trust gained from the extreme Kira worshippers to Near and Mello that they still wouldn’t budge giving their real names so that’s why I think that’s when Misa Amane should come into play after trust is built up between everyone and Near and Mello. Also about those Kira worshippers, I think that those people should also be people who Light finds out about who share the same ideologies as Kira so that way Light knows that he can trust them. They also have to be people who have skills enough being detectives so that way it’s also not suspicious of whether or not they were qualified for the job or not because it becomes more suspicious when someone is elected a position somewhere and they haven’t actually met any requirements for that spot on the team. It’s suspicious when friends are elected roles in power and it qualifies over people with actual experience and meeting requirements and finishing things like college to actually be apart of the team. With that all said while it would be a lot to think about and a lot to calculate and piece altogether, with enough mental strength and IQ, Light would be able to figure out a plan to make his friends do a ton of work to make it to roles serving him while covering all contingencies to prevent being looked at under any suspicion. That’s how I think your idea of Light killing off his original police teammates would work. It takes a lot of thinking and a lot of brainpower to storm together but with enough at your disposal, any level of power is achievable. He would just still have to cover up his tracks somehow covering all contingencies. That’s all.
@@lordartoriuscollbrande7434 The ending itself was actually my favorite part of the second half of the series, it was the build up to the final two episodes that was poorly paced and poorly written in my opinion. I would've done a lot of things differently with the characters. In my opinion the first 25 episodes are perfect in my opinion. I would've changed some stuff with Misa and make her less annoying but still the show up to this point was a 10/10 for me. The second half was still fairly decent but when coming off of something so strongly good, it feels low quality in comparison, but I'd still rank the second half as a 7/10 in my opinion and the overall series would be a 9/10 in my opinion. well, I'm not saying to kill them all at the same time or anything like that, but it is possible. Something like Light writing one police officers name down who reveals all the Taskforce members names and faces publicly, then Kira can kill them like this and there would be no way to link Light to Kira or their deaths would be the easiest way of going about I think. Also, to be fair, L dying at all is already suspicious, so getting rid of the Taskforce would actually help to make there be less ways of narrowing down who Kira is as Light was never on paper a member of the Taskforce. If Light had them all killed as I said and then became a police officer and formed his own Taskforce of members that agreed with Kira, it would be far less likely for Near to narrow down suspects since there's no way to link Light to the Taskforce that was with L before he died. Light only used alternate methods of death when he wanted to be undetected, basically killing someone without it being connected to being Kira such as the bus jacking scene. That's why Light uses the default method of death, heart attack, so people can correlate his work and so when he decides to kill someone with other methods, it's not linked to Kira. If Light can get a Taskforce of Kira followers, then they can act like how the original Taskforce did with Near, but when it comes time for the final confrontation Light had with Near, he could just have them walk in a shoot Near and the SPK. Basically, Light could have Mikami be a Taskforce member if he wanted it, but obviously Light should pick people like Mikami that aren't publicly known to agree with Kira. I wouldn't necessarily say they need to meet extremely specific requirements. I mean the original Taskforce wasn't the most qualified for it and there are plenty of people in society that aren't qualified or the best for their jobs.
The thing is, this is a smart show with smart characters, so even small writing mistakes and plot holes have to be taken advantage of by the characters, which make the plot hole very obvious.

When he got the Death Note he thought he is God and no-one can do anything to him but later L gave him a reality check which made him much more cautious and less egocentric
That's called ego. I see a Hindi show 'Maddam sir'. In which a police officer usually gets under ego and does mistakes. Usually to compete with her senior. When she gets over the ego, she realises what she had done and gets super embarrassed. Even though she gets caught in ego sometimes, she isn't evil. Instead she is very good. Yeah I've been thinking a lot about this too. But idk I think they wouldn't necessarily lost Near's trust cause Light's name is still not written and it has to be Light's plan and he'll still be in problem.
Or a better way. Miami writes the name of everyone and comes revealing he is kira. The police catch him and take him to jail. Meanwhile, light kills mikami by a heart attack by writing " teru Minami dies of heart attack after writing his name on a piece of paper". The police get that paper and suspect that mikami killed himself out of frustration of being caught. Then light is saved. The ending itself was fine. Think the problem is how it came about ending itself, as the logic of the reveal how Kira was caught didn't feel like it was at it's best writing.
The dumbest moment was *Ryuk getting bored.* 1K likes????????? Yayayayayayaayyayayayayayayayayayayayayayyaayyayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayyaayayayyaayayayayayayayayayaayayayayayayayayayayayaaya Thanks guys!
Honestly I say the dumbest moment of the whole anime/manga for me is when light and L were talking about Raye penber. The reason why is because light made a huge slip up when talking about how Raye was investing him. L caught this immediately and I was just watching this and being like, “ Bruh… “.
It's not really a misstep given the information presented. L mentioned that Raye Penber was investigating people connected to the police because Kira got access the private information that only the police had after just previously saying that Raye Penber had exhibited unusual behavior before he died. Given all that information and that L has already stated that he suspects that Light is Kira, Light can conclude that Raye Penber was following him, even if Light wasn't actually Kira.
Yeah I think he should have waited like a month or two before killing him so that he could have reported of him to be clear of suspicion and also by that time he would have been inspected more potential suspects so the suspicion would have been less on Light and more on the candidates who were just recently inspected by him. Though I also have a doubt that he could have also revealed by that time that he had to show his identity to Light once and that would have ended badly
The copying of the notebook isn't just impossible in terms of precision, but also just as a matter of course. Light wasn't the first person to hold that notebook- a shinigami was. Near said they made sure to use the same pens and make identical strokes to the original, but how the hell would you even begin to replicate the pen of a god of death?
the most stupid part in the entire series was since episode 1, light could have killed criminals using different methods, madness, illness, suicide, officers' killings, etc but he was stupid enough to kill all people using heart attacks only, even the dumbest person alive can figure out there's something.
light actually wanted everyone to know about the existence of kira and the passing of judgement, which is why he only used heart attacks to kill criminals at first so that the police could suspect something was up and then find out about kira, “the god of the new world”. that’s also why he killed lind. l. tailor; to show what would happen if someone tried to go against him. but yes, that was mostly out of his ego getting hurt and his impulsiveness. if he thought about it rationally, then he could have figured out it was a trap. it was pretty smart of L to have the lind dude say that. lucky for him, light had a god complex.
I just thought of another one. When Light’s father gets ahold of the notebook, then L looks at it and lets Light look at it when they’re in the helicopter, Light screams in horror as the memories of the note come flooding back, and THEN just a few moments later, Light writes Higuchi’s name on a piece of the note & he just dies of a heart attack right then and there and L doesn’t find it weird in the slightest. L definitely should have been able to put 2 and 2 together. He literally died of a heart attack as SOON as Light touched the damn death note, following his oddly terrified reaction to it. And L innately knew Light was Kira this whole time but suddenly forgot, apparently. And Light knew that L never stopped suspecting him so why tf would he do that?? Lol
@@clueanalysis2596 yeah he was still suspicious and there wouldn’t have been any proof, but I’m just saying in the moment it’s odd that it wasn’t a dead giveaway. They could have taken Light into custody again based off that alone & the killings would have stopped completely, & Light would have been proven to be Kira. Know what I mean?
@@underthesea713 It would've been a reason to be suspicious of Light but not enough to bring him in to custody as that's still not enough proof of anything, just reasonable suspicion. Even so, brining him in to custody followed by having the killings stop wouldn't have proven anything as Higuchi was the one who was Kira and the deaths stopped after he died. The deaths stopping would be expected after capturing Kira or having Kira die.
@@clueanalysis2596 the only issue I have with that is that Higuchi couldn’t have written his own name in the note. He was running from the police & didn’t have time by the time they captured him, so the police should have realized someone else had to have done it & it happened around 40 seconds after Light obtained the note lol. Does that make sense?
@@underthesea713 That doesn't really make sense. If you were to suggest that Higuchi killed himself that wouldn't support the need to confine Light at all. Either way even if Light was confined after Higuchi's death it wouldn't prove anything. Higuchi up until that point was acting as Kira, now that he was caught as Kira and is now dead, L and the Taskforce would also expect the deaths to stop as well.
Can we also talk about Light's bus plan? The whole thing just doesn't make much sense when you think about it. So Light's plan is to learn Raye's identity by forcing him to expose himself through an orchestrated bus hijacking. So firstly, there is no guarantee that Raye would want to, or even be able to reveal his identity to Light. He really shouldn't have anyway but whatever, we k ow Raye trusts Light. Light doesn't know this though so he's essentially just taking a wild guess but he wouldn't really lose anything if he was wrong. The plan really goes off the rails when we take into account the fact by protocol, Raye should have explained to his superiors that his identity was compromised, they would then have him replaced and the entire point of Light's whole plan would be ruined. There was absolutely no way Light would have been able to predict that Raye is going to be a complete moron and completely disobey the rules he should be professionally obliged to follow, especially seeing as he's a government agent. The entire scenario would logically only have 1% chance of turning out the way it did and I just find it silly that Light was acting like it's a perfectly foolproof plan. Hell, it has a higher chance of revealing to L that Kira can kill without heart attacks and therefore would increase Light's suspicion by a lot since it was his agent involved. I feel like Light should have been able to come up with a better plan in hindsight.
I agree, the method of which Light went about getting Raye's name was clever but also relied on some chance. I'm guessing Raye wouldn't want to reveal to his superiors that he showed his name to someone because that would get him in trouble and that's what Light was counting on. Still, in this situation there was a better way of revealing the name of the FBI agent through the hijacking. What Light should've done is wait for the FBI agents to start investigating other people connected to the police, then Light should keep an eye on the other police members and people connected to them and wait and see when an FBI agent starts following someone connected to the police that Light is also keeping an eye on. Once Light sees another person connected to the police being followed by someone, Light can conclude that it's another FBI agent. Only then should Light start testing the death notes abilities. He can keep track of where the person being followed usually goes and set up something similar to the bus jacking. Lets say Light wants it to happen in a grocery store that the person being followed usually goes to. Light follows the FBI agent and the person connected to the police to the grocery store, previously writing in the death note to have a criminal come into the store and take everyone hostage in exchange for money. The criminal does this, taking everyone hostage which would include Light, the FBI agent, and the person connected to the police. One by one the criminal goes around to each person asking them for any items on them which would include their wallets. As the criminal goes to each person they look through all their belongings until they find identification. They proceed to read out loud the full name of the person they just took the belongings from. Everyone would hear the names including Light so he would know the name of the FBI member and just in case Light wouldn't know specifically how to spell the FBI agents name Light could've also previously written that once the criminal goes through everyone, gathering all their belongings, they run out escaping without being followed to an abandoned building on 5th Avenue (Something like that) and commit suicide. This way only Light would know where the criminal went and could go check for the name he's looking for. Light would then have the FBI agents name, multiple people could be suspects now because they all heard the FBI agents name, and even if they were to suspect one specific person it would be the person the FBI agent was following, not Light.
@@clueanalysis2596 it could work but it's also a lot harder for the "hijacker" to be able to control all those people when there is so much space for people to run/hide. If raye or the person he is tailing escape it means the plan is ruined and light could still be potentially put in the spotlight. It would probably have to be a two or 3 man job.
@@tb3099 I suppose, but it's highly unlikely someone is going to be attempting to run away from someone wielding a gun. If it's written that everyone will be taken hostage then any attempt to escape would probably just lead to the hijacker spotting someone leaving and taking them hostage anyways.
This series is awesome! Thank god, the creator didn't continue the series and modernized the timeline to include social media. The series would be over in 2 episodes.
Honestly😂😂😂. But after L’s death, in real life, all near would’ve had to do was contact outside personnel of the CIA and tell them that whoever gets out alive of the warehouse is Kira. Plain and simple. Then light would just be killed in secret and no one would know until after he’s very dead😂
Well they are still both the smartest ppl in death note( L and Light) I'm sure they could have a battle in the modern Era with modern themes applied, if L could work with what he had then he could now too
@@theanimerapper6351 there's no reason to debate what never will be, but do you really not think light would not know how the internet works? Like come on, give him some credit, obviously if "this" light was in a modern Era he would that would fit that time period that isn't stupid, as much as you can say that would happen, I can say he would be smart enough to not do that, he could use a virtual machine, use something like a VPN and mask his ip, look it up some other way, belive it or not the news which is what he originally used, still exists, he could buy burner stuff to look stuff up on, anyways this would be a nice what if someone could make
@@animeboiindacut5930 Yeah, that to me was the true ending. And other fans will agree. I guess the publishers wanted to see Light die, but him winning the game against L was the better ending. Maybe if there was a season 2, where L's prodigies heard about his demise and investigated into it some weeks after episode 25 ended, it probably would have gone better. But as it currently stands, episodes 26-37 are just filler.
Same thing happened with Kazuki Takahashi on writing Yugioh Millenium World.I was thinking that Bakura's millenium game being fake all along was a big fuck you to the publishers XD
Bruh I always thought about how ass backwards it was for mikami to be so careless in the last major job to basically win . All he had to do was keep torn pages of the book hidden before hand for emergency purposes. It also makes sense with his character since he is a very careful type 1. He would have wriiten takadas name in that and no one finds out. 2. Write the names of near and others in those pages since they are garunteed to be genuine since this is the last job for the win. 3. Also if light knew they were going to tamper with the pages why not let him know about all this beforehand. Although I haven't seen DN in a while so I don't remember if it was possible for light to communicate with mikami.
He could also just have tested if the notebook was working right before he headed to the meeting location even for the slightest chance that he ended up being duped and carrying a fake one
@@clueanalysis2596 honestly, after episode 25, light just lost half of his sense and cautiousness. i guess all that power really inflated his already huge ego to the point where he believed no one could stop him. i can’t really blame him though… near wasn’t as smart as L and without mikami’s slip up, everything would have worked out perfectly. what light could have done was ask mikami to leave space after writing the first name from the task force and then just continue with the other names. so if no one died within forty seconds, he could add light’s name. also, it was incredibly stupid of light to tell near he won in front of everyone and of mikami to call him “god” and say that he followed his orders.
I think the dumbest moment is when Light tried to write down Matsuda's (or someone else's, I don't remember) name on a piece of the note in the last episode. Did he seriously think that no one would notice? I know, maybe he had nothing to lose anymore, but it was still really dumb
2:56 Any possibility of light ever legitimately loving Misa ended when she did this. I remember how pissed off he was that she mentioned shinigami and had to improvise off the spot to cover up her screw up.
I personally think Light is smarter than L, being able to think forward one step ahead, but it was his temper and megalomania which ultimately got the better of him so many times. So involved in the idea of the cat and mouse chase that he'd be led on because of it. Exploitable temper is exploitable, and L knew it from the start. All his strategy to catch Kira essentially revolved around baiting him until he stepped too far out of safety. Some of my thoughts about all the way up to L's death: -Some say killing Lind L Taylor was not a mistake, but regardless of why did he do it, at the end of the day he got played out and in front of the world too. His megalomania got the best of him -Letting L know that he had access to police information is what led directly to FBI agents investigating, and all under the pretext that the japanese police would somehow investigate and find L's name for him. True, it does let Kira get closer to L, but it works vice versa. That was a bad move giving away his whereabouts -The bus episode and what followed was one big gamble. Had Raye Penbar ever mentioned to his superiors that his identity had been compromised when and how, it would've been game over the moment all the agents were killed, regardless of anything else -Following Raye Penbar into the metro for such a long time, would've always looked suspicious. And if L knew Kira was in the train and Raye Penbar left an envelope in it, they should've investigated the station he stepped on the train and would've found out about the guy that died and probably Light's presence in the area too -Had he only left the FBI agents alone, there's no way they would've gotten absolutely anything near him. He only did it because they were Kira's enemies so they had to be punished and to "send a message" to L, but in this move he ironically let his ego get in the way of his mission to become the god of the new world -Telling Naomi that he was Kira could've backfired horribly, and it's the same attitude that got him killed by the end -When Light said "Kira wouldn't fall for it" when talking about the message about 1500 agents to Japan, during the episode about the cameras, that's the exact moment when L knew he had the guy, because that's exactly what Kira would've said if he knew L was watching, given Kira's psychological profile -Why the magazines of models? Just playing videogames would've done the trick, especially if he didn't suck at them. Too much paranoia? -Killing an embezzler and a purse snatcher while he should have no idea about it was a brilliant alibi, but getting out of his own modus operandi at the very least raises the relevant questions. Doing absolutely nothing would've been better than that. He only did it to cheat L in his face -L revealing himself to Light was a brilliant move, but despite Light knowing what L's strategy would be with making him reveal things only Kira would've known, he didn't conclude there could be anything other than the 3 notes that Light without Kira could have no way of knowing about. Gramatically reordering the notes despite the matching printing numbers shows a sign of bias that should've been a giveaway there and then. Rather than, what, 15% chance of him being Kira? that was an instant 70% at least -Misa was the snowballing disaster that almost made Light lose completely, but making her send that last tape where the second Kira agreed with the police not to meet Kira, after all they had done to get his attention, was one gigantic blunder. Not only giving more grounds for getting hair and fingerprints out of more tapes, but also letting L know they were working together and that his days were few if he did not strike, fast. The best he could've done is at least agree on a story of how they had met and then go into silence, which could've saved L's suspicions later on -When L as Hyuga said that he was a fan of Misa and liked one of her performances, naming it directly, that should've let Light realise that L knew Misa was the second Kira. Does L really look like the kind of guy who would follow fashion? -And on that note, what could Misa have done? Kill L? There's only one reason anyone was ever gonna be getting his real name. Whichever the outcome one would've been cornered in knowing that the moment he kicked the bucket, with the evidence against Misa and Light being implicated, there was no way they'd be getting out of it, at least not without murdering Watari and the rest of the task force in the same pen sweep -Come to think of it, did Light ever actually laugh in the whole arc when he's no longer Kira? Only Kira ever laughs. Goes to show that he was an almost completely different person without the Death Note. That laugh was more sus that probably anything else -When Light was no longer Kira, I think just asking him if he'd ever heard the name Raye Penbar would've cleared up everything for L. Instantly linking him to the bus episode and to the agent's death -When getting back the Death Note, he goes from screaming hysterically to rationally checking the names in the Death Note, and then stupidly asks how they could scientifically analyse the notebook. L's reaction at that point was very well done about how he realised what had happened, -All L really needed to do was to ask Rem about ownership of the death note, perhaps give it to someone else and then make them forfeit it. Even better, tell Light himself to do it. Could've been game over -The evidence against Misa was prooo...bably more than good enough for not letting her go her merry way. Regardless of whether she was the second Kira or not, she sent the tapes and some people died in the involving scenes -L says probably one of the most brilliant lines in anime history. All the series up to that point revolved around the cat and mouse chase, but all up to that point had also shown that Kira/Light cared about it more than L did. L considered Light a friend even if he was Kira, and when he momentarily stepped out of the cat and mouse game by asking Light if he ever told the truth, Light without Kira would've concluded L still thought he was Kira, and would've bitched about it. Light's response about it was the correct one, but at the same time very damning precisely because of it -Why did nobody bother to ask themselves where did Rem's own death note go? I do remember reading about one case when a serial murderer was investigated by detectives and a cat and mouse rat chase ensued, with him slipping out of their reach every single time. Until one time, he purposefully left identifying info, believing the detective wouldn't arrest him because of "honouring the chase" or something along those lines. Queue later, the police got his ass. Oftentimes, you are just your worst enemy.
That is a good explanation but I think the opposite dude slipped when he killed Pember he got his trust could've been an alibi much better than gambling (not much gambling if it'll only put a spotlight on everyone light was connected to and himself) when he mentioned Pember aka the detective who was keeping watch on him (L didn't mention that part immediate reaction) Your take is good and without a single doubt Kira was lucky to be light everyone was on the chief's side (y'know his father Motility aside a father would trust his son first) Being a police officer's son was the most damning and blessing Kira got since light had been fed to hold law and order to the upmost respect making him stupid it's anime but why couldn't the guy to after world leaders they'd die after six weeks but man it'd be so much quicker and have an actual change people aren't weighing costs and benefits it's at the moment but than I remember it's anime good anime but anime
The simple fact that Light had the Death Note and knew all the rules about it, while L knew none of it, and they were still on even terms, goes to show much smarter L was.
@@TheMarkoSeke Exactly. The only times Light managed to outsmart L is when he used information that L simply could not have known. His death is the prime example of this. Light didn't trick L to kill him. He tricked Rem. He used the information that Rem loves Misa to create a scenario where Rem wants to kill L. L could not have found this out in a million years
Personally, I don't think killing Lind was a "stupid" move on Light's part necessarily. It was unnecessary, yes, and only happened because of Light's cockiness but think about it. Light had no way of knowing that there existed a super detective called L. His father was head of the police force, he would always be two steps ahead of them. Therefore he made the irrational decision.
It fit with Light's motive, he wanted everyone to know Kira existed and was passing judgement. He probably knew it was a riskier approach, but if he didn't make it known he was killing bad people (and anyone who gets in his way) then other people wouldn't have feared being punished by Kira.
It was stupid, he did because he was cocky and not careful. Yeah mistakes can sometimes lead to a good path but i would not exactly say that was the optimal path for him and it was something he did in impulse, not thinking clearly, so yeah, it is stupid.
Not really. L is a very famous detective and has solved countless near impossible cases, so he should have been wary of such tricks. Even if he didn't knew about L, the fact that fake L himself declared himself to be L should be enough to make Light aware of him. It's also suspicious that somehow L came out and revealed his own face even though he had never done it before.
There was episode when Light told his group ,,hey guys, i,m talking with Takada now, don't listen to us because we want to discuss something important" like wtf xD
I think Light wrote that Kira wanted them to take out all the cameras and wire taps or he'd have Takada's security come in and kill him or something like that.
I recently rewatched death Note and I realised that the same person that came up with literally the SMARTEST masterplan I've ever heard in anime, failed to think of mikami doing something that would be reasonable to do at his pov... Honestly I consider the death of L as the end of the story because Near isn't even close to L's level
Well for one, it's not that Light didn't consider a better plan, it's that he was insulting Near by not creating the best plan and still winning, which obviously didn't work out. Second is that it's also arguable that what Mikami did was not within reason considering that Light told him not to use the real death note because Mikami was being followed by the SPK.
I love death note so much because the characters are a lot more realistic physiology and a lot of the moments we say are dumb but it also makes sense for the characters.
I think the dumbest moment is Light keeping the rest of the task force alive. L is gone and there’s no need to keep them. He can just manipulate their deaths so Soichiro wouldn’t suspect him. Actually, he really didn’t need to be the second L either. Just be Kira without drawing attention.
@@jessetheanimenerd3304 at that point, nobody but L and Watari suspects Light. And the police aren't even aware of the task force. Nobody was looking. He could killed them in an accident or in a gunfight against Kira supporters. Nobody else could connect it to Light because they don’t know he can manipulate their deaths. If Light didn't pretend to be L, Near would even suspect him anyways. And even if Near somehow suspects him, it will be all too late, Kira would be far too strong at that point that he can command countries.
@@erenjaeger3537 You're acting as if Soichiro is a complete buffoon. If Light killed everyone on the Task Force except himself and his father, that would be like telling Soichiro that he's Kira. And Light wouldn't kill his dad, especially not for a preventable reason like that. Not to mention that no matter how they die, it's still going to draw attention to anyone who investigates the NPA. Remember, Near and Mello knew that the Death Note was in their possession. Light was openly a member of the NPA, even if his role in the Task Force was a secret. Not to mention that the NPA director (and probably a few other people) knew most of the members of the Task Force. Leaving a trail of bodies within the Japanese police would be far more suspicious than simply keeping up the act of L and manipulating the Task Force to be his manpower.
@@Danerboots Soichiro would see through that since he was aware that Kira could kill through means of accident. And even if he didn't, leaving a trail of bodies connected to the Kira case isn't exactly wise.
The dumbest thing he did was going into the files of the police so L new that Kira is related to someone on the task force and since the dad was the oldest it was almost certain from the start that light was Kira
Spoiler alert! (Just in case) I think one of the the dumbest but also the saddest moments in my opinion has to be Light Yagami teasing Naomi Misora by telling her that he's Kira before she died. What if Naomi gave light a fake name AGAIN? She deserved better.
Also, the notebook was supposed to only be able to control people within reason and while it may have not been that unlikely for her to unalive after her husband died, no one would unalive after their husbands killer just revealed themselves to you esp without telling anyone.
@@patrickcampbell957 that is fair but also with the same notebook, he managed to get one of mello's henchmen to send a message that detailed the address of the lair and then "not talk about it" for the remaining amount of time he was alive The death note rule on "within reason" seems to mean if the task they can do is able to be reasonably done, not if they would reasonable in character for them
Ryuk state that he will be there until the book finish or Light dies but that fucking notebook doesn't finished in Light's hands in more then 5 years smh

Funniest part of lind l Taylor is that they managed to find a death row inmate who not only has a similar appearance and name to L but who is also more clean-cut
I know its in order but Light killing the fake L in the beginning was unnecessary and was by far the dumbest thing that started the whole investigation. But if not for that, we wouldn't have got a story of L vs Light. 😂

Killing Lind L. Tailor meant that L was able to narrow down Kira's position to the Kanto region in only a few minutes. Without that, Light would have had a lot more time considering that they would've had to search the whole of Japan, and maybe even outside of Japan.

But Light did it on purpose, because he wanted to kill L. He even discussed it with Ryuk.
@@ErenRaven It was not the only method of getting to L. It was arrogant and foolish. Granted so was Light.

@@moviemaker2011z wtf r u trying to say? How is using multiple people for different regions relevant to anything you wrote?
I think it was dumb she even trusted Light to begin with. Just giving her id in the middle of the street, trusting a literal teenager
Especially that is the reason he was sent back there in the first place.
i am really with you, i dont understand ppl who like light.

The fact that Light's dumbest moment is L's smartest move
It's pretty dumb light did't knew about L. Considering he wanted to become a detective one day. He's father never mentioned him either :/

Not this again. Just because you know something as a viewer doesn't mean that the characters know that too.
Her kid in his room: 1:44
Lol right. Kira would have been revealed a lot sooner if his mom and sister where smart enough to hear him screaming in his room about being Justice
@@lightning0938 Exactly, these people really just forget the whole sequence of how light even figured that was even possible
Light really gave himself during the first part of the anime:
1- He killed Lind Taylor instead of ignoring him
2- He killed Ray Pembert instead of ignoring him
3- He intentionally showed that he could obtain information from the police
4- He intentionally showed L that he could control the actions of his victims
Without all of the above, L could never have reached Light since the death note leaves no evidence or trace.

Until Near showed up 5 or 6 years later it's almost as if Light never had any plan to get rid of the task force.
I mean the original Taskforce wasn't the most qualified for it and there are plenty of people in society that aren't qualified or the best for their jobs.
it's crazy how misa did soo many stupid things yet L could not solve the case but near with 1 blunder from mikami was able to win

Only thing is she is hot tempered.
everyone says misa its super dumb but she actually acts kind of smart, she`s just not an absoulte genious like Light or L but for a normal person standard i think she is above average
I would say somewhat below average. It's unfortunate because she had done some clever things to meet Light, but after that she became annoying and brainless.
@@clueanalysis2596 exactly.
no shes fucking dumb as rocks
@@clueanalysis2596 It's one of the things that annoy me about animes in general; female characters have consistently horrible writing with rare exceptions. Misa clearly understands the need to take steps to conceal her identity prior to meeting light, and so should absolutely understand the need for secrecy while he's so close to their investigators. But she's so idiotically smitten with him for such a simple reason that she betrays his plans multiple times for stupid 'girl' reasons like "Oh I just needed to see you that badly!"
@@anachronity9002 I noticed this as well. I’m still annoyed that Misa turned out to be such a dumbass simply because she’s the only female main character with more screentime, and because her entire role was to be used by Light.
At first she was a very interesting character, because her faults made Light extremely angry at her idiocy and made L get closer to figuring out the truth behind the Death Note. Her backstory was pretty interesting as well. However, right afterwards she became this loud and annoying character who just wouldn’t stop messing things up and ruined some of the fun between L and Light.
The dumbest moment is how they did the whole “fake notebook” thing. Instead of just ripping out a page of the notebook and putting it back on he’s ready to kill.
Well he could have used the same page in which he had already written many peoples name
The dumbest moment was of L not turning the phone silent after stealing misa's phone. He could have just go to that custody room and make her talk to light casually
In a parallel universe
Mikami writes only near and his agents name
When he enters the room and Near shows Japanese police the names
They finds that their name was not written
So they loses Near's trust
Finally light using his note to kills Near
that wouldve been epic
Yeah I've been thinking a lot about this too. But idk I think they wouldn't necessarily lost Near's trust cause Light's name is still not written and it has to be Light's plan and he'll still be in problem.
If near dies who would show the notebook ?
Lol
Or a better way.
Miami writes the name of everyone and comes revealing he is kira.
The police catch him and take him to jail.
Meanwhile, light kills mikami by a heart attack by writing " teru Minami dies of heart attack after writing his name on a piece of paper".
The police get that paper and suspect that mikami killed himself out of frustration of being caught.
Then light is saved. He slowly kills all the members of task force who were involved and a few additional police officers to generate no suspicion.

Near said they made sure to use the same pens and make identical strokes to the original, but how the hell would you even begin to replicate the pen of a god of death?
Obviously Light got rid of all the previous handwriting before giving it to Mikami. That's why Near only sees Mikami's handwriting in the book.
1:50 kira screaming in his room, mother and sister next door: what is he doing ffs

It was all over when Light killed the dude on TV. Everything after that was just stalling the inevitable.
the most stupid part in the entire series was since episode 1, light could have killed criminals using different methods, madness, illness, suicide, officers' killings, etc
but he was stupid enough to kill all people using heart attacks only, even the dumbest person alive can figure out there's something.
light actually wanted everyone to know about the existence of kira and the passing of judgement, which is why he only used heart attacks to kill criminals at first so that the police could suspect something was up and then find out about kira, “the god of the new world”.
that’s also why he killed lind. l. tailor; to show what would happen if someone tried to go against him. but yes, that was mostly out of his ego getting hurt and his impulsiveness. if he thought about it rationally, then he could have figured out it was a trap. it was pretty smart of L to have the lind dude say that. lucky for him, light had a god complex.
The point was to let people know there was something, to deter any future criminals. Did you not understand the show at all?
@@stevenyoung9738
Too many stupid people watch this show unfortunately.
Dude did you even watch the show?
No he wanted to make clear there was existence out there that was killing people.
Lol
Light wrote Higuchi's name on a hidden scrap so there wasn't any proof that Light did it. Nonetheless L was still suspicious of Light after this.
Personally if I was Light i would've kept my ass quiet instead of killing L.lind tailor.
Same but ig the script given to Lind L Tailor was scripted to trigger him to act irrationally, with him saying "What you are doing is evil."

(Pride)
If he kills lind l taylor , people will believe kira is the real thing.
God Misa might as well reveal her name, address, blood type and everything else in that broadcast
@Rudolf Hillard I enjoyed it, but I do agree there could've been some things done better.

Haha, keep it in between the lines
I personally think Light is smarter than L, being able to think forward one step ahead, but it was his temper and megalomania which ultimately got the better of him so many times. So involved in the idea of the cat and mouse chase that he'd be led on because of it. Exploitable temper is exploitable, and L knew it from the start. All his strategy to catch Kira essentially revolved around baiting him until he stepped too far out of safety. Some of my thoughts about all the way up to L's death:
-Some say killing Lind L Taylor was not a mistake, but regardless of why did he do it, at the end of the day he got played out and in front of the world too. His megalomania got the best of him
-Letting L know that he had access to police information is what led directly to FBI agents investigating, and all under the pretext that the japanese police would somehow investigate and find L's name for him. True, it does let Kira get closer to L, but it works vice versa. That was a bad move giving away his whereabouts
-The bus episode and what followed was one big gamble. Had Raye Penbar ever mentioned to his superiors that his identity had been compromised when and how, it would've been game over the moment all the agents were killed, regardless of anything else
-Following Raye Penbar into the metro for such a long time, would've always looked suspicious. And if L knew Kira was in the train and Raye Penbar left an envelope in it, they should've investigated the station he stepped on the train and would've found out about the guy that died and probably Light's presence in the area too
-Had he only left the FBI agents alone, there's no way they would've gotten absolutely anything near him. He only did it because they were Kira's enemies so they had to be punished and to "send a message" to L, but in this move he ironically let his ego get in the way of his mission to become the god of the new world
-Telling Naomi that he was Kira could've backfired horribly, and it's the same attitude that got him killed by the end
-When Light said "Kira wouldn't fall for it" when talking about the message about 1500 agents to Japan, during the episode about the cameras, that's the exact moment when L knew he had the guy, because that's exactly what Kira would've said if he knew L was watching, given Kira's psychological profile
-Why the magazines of models? Just playing videogames would've done the trick, especially if he didn't suck at them. Too much paranoia?
-Killing an embezzler and a purse snatcher while he should have no idea about it was a brilliant alibi, but getting out of his own modus operandi at the very least raises the relevant questions. Doing absolutely nothing would've been better than that. He only did it to cheat L in his face
-L revealing himself to Light was a brilliant move, but despite Light knowing what L's strategy would be with making him reveal things only Kira would've known, he didn't conclude there could be anything other than the 3 notes that Light without Kira could have no way of knowing about. Gramatically reordering the notes despite the matching printing numbers shows a sign of bias that should've been a giveaway there and then. Rather than, what, 15% chance of him being Kira? that was an instant 70% at least
-Misa was the snowballing disaster that almost made Light lose completely, but making her send that last tape where the second Kira agreed with the police not to meet Kira, after all they had done to get his attention, was one gigantic blunder. Not only giving more grounds for getting hair and fingerprints out of more tapes, but also letting L know they were working together and that his days were few if he did not strike, fast. The best he could've done is at least agree on a story of how they had met and then go into silence, which could've saved L's suspicions later on
-When L as Hyuga said that he was a fan of Misa and liked one of her performances, naming it directly, that should've let Light realise that L knew Misa was the second Kira. Does L really look like the kind of guy who would follow fashion?
-And on that note, what could Misa have done? Kill L? There's only one reason anyone was ever gonna be getting his real name. Whichever the outcome one would've been cornered in knowing that the moment he kicked the bucket, with the evidence against Misa and Light being implicated, there was no way they'd be getting out of it, at least not without murdering Watari and the rest of the task force in the same pen sweep
-Come to think of it, did Light ever actually laugh in the whole arc when he's no longer Kira? Only Kira ever laughs. Goes to show that he was an almost completely different person without the Death Note. That laugh was more sus that probably anything else
-When Light was no longer Kira, I think just asking him if he'd ever heard the name Raye Penbar would've cleared up everything for L. Instantly linking him to the bus episode and to the agent's death
-When getting back the Death Note, he goes from screaming hysterically to rationally checking the names in the Death Note, and then stupidly asks how they could scientifically analyse the notebook. L's reaction at that point was very well done about how he realised what had happened,
-All L really needed to do was to ask Rem about ownership of the death note, perhaps give it to someone else and then make them forfeit it. Even better, tell Light himself to do it. Could've been game over
-The evidence against Misa was prooo...bably more than good enough for not letting her go her merry way. Regardless of whether she was the second Kira or not, she sent the tapes and some people died in the involving scenes
-L says probably one of the most brilliant lines in anime history. Light's response about it was the correct one, but at the same time very damning precisely because of it
-Why did nobody bother to ask themselves where did Rem's own death note go?
I do remember reading about one case when a serial murderer was investigated by detectives and a cat and mouse rat chase ensued, with him slipping out of their reach every single time. Until one time, he purposefully left identifying info, believing the detective wouldn't arrest him because of "honouring the chase" or something along those lines. Queue later, the police got his ass. Oftentimes, you are just your worst enemy.
That is a good explanation but I think the opposite dude slipped when he killed Pember he got his trust could've been an alibi much better than gambling (not much gambling if it'll only put a spotlight on everyone light was connected to and himself) when he mentioned Pember aka the detective who was keeping watch on him (L didn't mention that part immediate reaction)
Your take is good and without a single doubt Kira was lucky to be light everyone was on the chief's side (y'know his father Motility aside a father would trust his son first)
Being a police officer's son was the most damning and blessing Kira got since light had been fed to hold law and order to the upmost respect making him stupid it's anime but why couldn't the guy to after world leaders they'd die after six weeks but man it'd be so much quicker and have an actual change people aren't weighing costs and benefits it's at the moment but than I remember it's anime good anime but anime
Exactly. Just because we as viewers know something doesn't mean that the characters know that too.
It was stupid, he did because he was cocky and not careful. Yeah mistakes can sometimes lead to a good path but i would not exactly say that was the optimal path for him and it was something he did in impulse, not thinking clearly, so yeah, it is stupid.

How would he know that L was not the guy he was seeing on TV?
So what if he isn't close to L?
Well for one, it's not that Light didn't consider a better plan, it's that he was insulting Near by not creating the best plan and still winning, which obviously didn't work out. Second is that it's also arguable that what Mikami did was not within reason considering that Light told him not to use the real death note because Mikami was being followed by the SPK.
IMO the show significantly drops in quality after L dies. The reasoning behind Near's actions is often very far-fetched.
The dumbest moment was light not suing the government since it's illegal to bug someone in Japan unless the victim is alerted
I love death note so much because the characters are a lot more realistic physiology and a lot of the moments we say are dumb but it also makes sense for the characters.
The most stupid thing was misa coming in this series 🤦
Yeah I wasn't a big fan of her
True but made a lot of funny parts including L and the others.
Ye
I love misa lol
Yeah she literally told L theres shinigamis exist
I think the dumbest moment is Light keeping the rest of the task force alive. L is gone and there’s no need to keep them. He can just
manipulate their deaths so Soichiro wouldn’t suspect him. Actually, he really didn’t need to be the second L either. Just be Kira without drawing attention.
Yeah, because killing off everyone in the Task Force aside from himself and his dad wouldn't look suspicious to any outside source looking in at all.
@@jessetheanimenerd3304 He could have written that they were killed in the line of duty. Or a freak accident.
”If I die within the next few days, your son is kirrra”
😧😧😧
”hmm another hair 😐”
I still think the dumbest moment has to be Matsuda accidentally opening the doors to the Yotsuba meeting
The dumbest thing was when another shinigami came to mello and said about fake rules in that book it helped near to find kira
Was a bit annoying instead of Mello or Near deducing the rule to be fake, just have a shinigami tell them.
dumbest moment was when when light admitted that he is kira by saying "i won" in the last episode
I love how L says “hair…. Snack crumbs…. Hmmmm hair”
L: Mr. Yagami, if i die in the next few days your son is kira, casually goes back to counting hairs
Spoiler alert! (Just in case)
I think one of the the dumbest but also the saddest moments in my opinion has to be Light Yagami teasing Naomi Misora by telling her that he's Kira before she died. What if Naomi gave light a fake name AGAIN?
She deserved better.
Ok, that would have been a hilarious ending
Also, the notebook was supposed to only be able to control people within reason and while it may have not been that unlikely for her to unalive after her husband died, no one would unalive after their husbands killer just revealed themselves to you esp without telling anyone.
Yep I thought of the same thing when I was watching the scene! This just goes on to show how arrogant light is!
@@patrickcampbell957 that is fair but also with the same notebook, he managed to get one of mello's henchmen to send a message that detailed the address of the lair and then "not talk about it" for the remaining amount of time he was alive
The death note rule on "within reason" seems to mean if the task they can do is able to be reasonably done, not if they would reasonable in character for them
I WILL TAKE A POTATO CHIP AND EAT IT
The smartest part of the show
@@l3g1tfad34 true
Ryuk state that he will be there until the book finish or Light dies but that fucking notebook doesn't finished in Light's hands in more then 5 years smh
The book replenishes it's own pages. I don't remember where this is stated though, but I'm pretty sure it was at least in volume 13.
even if the pages of the book end
the death note owner can always ask for more pages from the shingami
therefore making the time use of the death note theoretically endless
its stated in one of the anime episodes idk which one tho
however, more info abt this i think is there on the fandom website
We all have the OP ability of Hindsight which the characters don't have so did they really make dumb decisions or just what they thought was optimal at that moment it's easy to call them dumb when you have all the context the characters don't have
Starting background music is so relaxing this series never gets old 💓💓
Dumbest thing is that whole conversation of light with takada
Light planning his next move:
L: Hair☺️
Funniest part of lind l Taylor is that they managed to find a death row inmate who not only has a similar appearance and name to L but who is also more clean-cut
I know its in order but Light killing the fake L in the beginning was unnecessary and was by far the dumbest thing that started the whole investigation. But if not for that, we wouldn't have got a story of L vs Light. 😂
Misa: Please, I'm willing to give my mind and body to serve Kira.
Me: Okay, you see that flower pot in the corner?
Misa: Uh... Yea?
Me: Go pick it up.
Misa: *Walks to the corner and pick up the pot*
Me: Okay. Remember, hold it with both hands.
(several minutes later after writing down names)
Misa: I... I don't understand what I'm doing.
Me: You're doing great!
Killing Lind L. Tailor meant that L was able to narrow down Kira's position to the Kanto region in only a few minutes. Without that, Light would have had a lot more time considering that they would've had to search the whole of Japan, and maybe even outside of Japan.
When Misa entered death note it was a total mess
I wasn't a fan of her either
L take

Yeah some idiots agree with you sadly
Misa was crucial to the entire story in many ways
@@Tyler-jh9uq Agreed, Like Having Rem Kill L, Otherwise Light Wouldve Been Found Out Sooner.
