Windows 10 has lots of settings that you probably want to change if you haven't already. Many of these are privacy settings, but there are some for convenience as well. There are even a few cool windows features that aren't on by default that you can enable. One example is Windows new "Night Light" mode with the latest creators update. I go through all of these settings and show you exactly how to change them.

Guy in a Google shirt telling you stuff about privacy - how ironic.

Thanks for this videw but but my friend there is a flaw in your presentation. You say go to update and security but you don't show me on the screen where it is. It just magically appears. I am a new w10 user, I don't know where it is. I even slowed down the video playback speed. I had to slow it down to .5 speed. but I still cant see it. It just magically appears on your screen. I don't know where it is . I have never been on this page. But you write as if i know where to look. This is the flaw in your presentation. Your speech rate is ok. Please stop excluding people who are ignorant about their w1 like me. Otherwise I will look somewhere else and then you wont get as many likes. This is only 45 second in the presentation. Oh Finally I saw it once I slowed it down to .5 playback speed. Now if you think I am going to wqatch this at .5 play back speed forget.

All of the options menus are different now; it's like Windows watched your video and changed everything to intentially make it more difficult or impossible to change these settings

Again, HERE ARE MY SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS TO DISABLE UPDATES!: First Press the Windows key + R (its the key on your keyboard with the symbol that looks like the start button) a box will open & then type in "services.msc" (without the "quotations") a new menu will open, scroll down until you see "Windows Update" & double click it, a new window will open, now, where it says "Startup Type" change it to "Disabled", this will disable Windows Updates! YAY! Below this you will Also see "Service status" you will need to make sure it is "Stopped" if it isnt then make sure to click on "Stop" this will stop any current updates if windows says it will install updates when you shut down or restart your computer. This method doesnt seem to be permanent either, so if you ever see Windows saying it will install updates when you restart or shut down you computer just simply redo these steps & that will stop it again! Its quite a simple & easy process & windows should also save the "services.msc" command so you wont have to type it again when you press Windows+R next time, which saves you from having to remember what to type each time or look it up. Hope this helps!!

I was trying to follow your instructions, but your access page is different from mine. While searching for something you had said I accidentally found a file on which programs that were turned on slowed down my computer as it came on. One of the items was Sticky Notes which was HIGH on slowing me down. My hands have a mind of their own, and while trying to navigate to read more ... I lost that page!!! And now I cannot find it again. It was in Settings and Control Panel, but each icon that I clicked on was not what I had before. Can you guide me to that? LOL I still haven't managed to sync to your video to find those files to delete because I got lost in MS Twilight Zone.

A really important one in my opinion is the power management settings in the Windows 10 Control Panel. Just set them to high performance if you're a gamer, it can make a huge difference on how much power your GPU is allowed to be distributed and increase your framerate in demanding games.

Disabling and Enabling certain setting and features was probably one of the first few things I did when I got my new PC, even so; this tutorial was a great help and it allowed me to understand a few things I wouldn't have figured out without help from someone like you ThioJoe. Thank you!

I found that frame rate visibility is way better whilst the nightlight feature is turned on. The night light feature is definitely not only a healthy choice, but useful (too).

ThioJoe, I wanted to say thank you. You saved my gluteus maximus. You showed me how to put the "Task Bar always in front" in another video. I don't remember which video that hint was in but I did what you suggested and selected it. When my computer started behaving badly it did save me, so thanks again. You do great work. Keep it up.

Mighty handy stuff. Keeps the MS bar-stewards from grinding you down. Also great to learn about settings hidden away that I would probably never have found. All very sensible advice. Thank you.
