Top 3 reasons why you should do Micah's second mission in Chapter 3 : 1) You can do it on your way back from Strauss' debt collection mission (Winton Holmes) 2) Narratively, it makes sense for Arthur to avoid Strawberry and Big Valley in general after the bloodbath they left 3) Micah deserves to live alone in the woods like a hobo, fearing for his life, as long as possible.
As somebody with a large amount of family in the American South, it genuinely astounds me how spot on the character’s accents are. I remember when I was very little, we would travel down to Texas to see family (I’ve lived in an urban area in Michigan all my life, so the deserts of the southwest felt like another world to me). I had a great great uncle who was born in the late 1890s. He sounded exactly like Arthur Morgan. It genuinely blew my mind when I learned Arthur’s voice actor was from Ireland, his southwest accent sounds so authentic. It also touches on all the subtle inflections people usually miss when doing a “cowboy” voice. Just playing the game gives me goosebumps sometimes in just how well it depicts southern culture and landscapes of the late 19th century. It’s incredible the amount of research that went into this game, and it’s one of the only video games to connect with me on such a deep and familiar level.
I can't wait for Lemoyne. Hatred for the Union decades after the Civil War was "lost/won", Lost Cause holdouts in the ideology of the Lemoyne Raiders and then we have Saint Denis which is clearly Louisiana with the Francophile architecture and also French name and how it has a metropolitan police force which was still in its infancy during that period. Damn I can't wait.
To add to your point, another obvious proof that Lemoyne is Louisiana is that St. Denis was the name of a French-Canadian soldier/explorer who commanded a fort near what is now New Orleans and he also founded Louisiana’s oldest settlement, Natchitoches. Rockstar was obviously paying homage to him, as he played a huge part in Louisiana’s evolution. Also, the buildings in St. Denis aren’t just stylistically *similar* to French architecture, but there are quite a few buildings that are almost direct 1:1 recreations of actual locations in New Orleans. As a Louisiana native, I am *so* stoked for the Chapter 3 video. The Civil war stuff is gonna be touchy for some, but I hope to see an Atun-Shei Films level of nuance breakdown.

I love these types of videos. Me myself I have loved westerns for a long time. I grew up on em really. And to see how close rdr2 resembles irl Wild West just shocks me. And I love ppl like you who dive into these things to bring how the historical resemblance.
Love these videos! I binged all the prior ones in one sitting and now I sit here anxiously awaiting for more. Can't wait to see the lemoyne episode, I have a feeling that one is gonna be a doozy 😳

Just a little detail, forward mounted holsters became popular as they were easier to ride with and didn't get in the way as much as side holsters, plus they could be drawn with a dominant hand, meaning that after using up one gun, you could switch to another if you had another side holster
4:50 wait, did you say.. *lumbago*?! You mean Hosea had the cure to Uncle’s ailment that whole time?
Again a very interesting and aesthetic compilation of facts. It's always fascinating to learn how much research went into the game. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to chapter three!
