I don't really comment on videos, I started watching Jade in my 2nd year of pharmacy school and now I'm graduating on Monday. I feel like were in this journey together and whenever i want to feel a source of peace or calm i always come back to your videos. Hey Jade, after watching your graduation and being reminded of my younger self watching you still very unsure if i was gonna get allowed into my top university and now having finished my first year with a lot of personal hardships that got in the way, i now am rewatching some of your videos like this one and realising that i really wanna set more goals for myself that i know could give me a lot of peace (like journaling, staying up or getting up for a sunset/sunrise etc) during my study. I don't blame myself for not doing so in first year with everything that was going on, but i still want to thank you for being so inspiring and taking a leap of faith to join this university to then also share it with us. Cause its making me realise theres many things i can do to inrich my experience of my uni without it actually being study related. I'm still waiting on my first year uni results but hopefully soon I can look back on this comment with good and happy news
brb crying, they literally said "haha we took the words full circle literally, have fun with the wall of emotions" I honestly think it's so great it's kinda your job to capture things and be good at it because you'll look back at this so fondly one day. I wish I could go on an adventure like that while getting a degree, but the fact that the flights aren't covered in the tuition of Minerva and the fact that I know I couldn't study and work simultaneously is kinda crossing it off the list.

Inflation has sent everything sky high in the last two years. It’s a real struggle to keep up with the basics for many people. (And you made some very good points about the poor health system here.)

I admire your positive mindset. It's hard sometimes to find positivity when you feel lost in life and have no idea what you want and not really liking your degree and time at uni, but I try. I don't think I would have ever studied abroad for 5 months if I hadn't seen your videos💕🇧🇻 Now I'm planning a gapyear after my bachelors degree, because I don't know what to do next and I'm so excited to go solo interrailing, visit africa, work, volunteer and work on mental health🤩 Although it's scary at the same time. Yeah I was feeling the feels this morning - just being sad that I'm saying goodbye to three years of my life, the people I loved that I only have met 5 months ago that I wished I met them earlier in the course, the people who were there for the past three years I'm going to sorely miss. But I'm moving my life again to Reading where I hopefully would enjoy my new job and living there! Its a lot to process!

Yesterday, I watched the video where you move to SF to start uni and now I'm watching you go back to graduate, which is so crazy to me! I can tell that you have grown in between the two videos, but you also still seem like the same beautiful soul. I appreciate your perspective on the differences - good and bad - that you see between the different countries you've gotten to experience. I am from the US but currently studying in Wales, and while they aren't drastically different, you've reminded me in this video of some things I had already forgotten about, and how complex these places are, both in our memories/expectations and in reality. I just have one contribution to make - our NHS is so much better than the US system in so many ways! The NHS unlike the US healthcare system has and will always stand for healthcare being a human right and putting people before profit. The UK social system needs changes and reforms in so many areas like housing, social care and education (among others) but I think us Brits need to have more faith in a better future for the NHS- after all, it isn’t the people in it who make these waiting times and lists so dreadfully long. I know that it’s on its knees rn but I invite you to be reflective of the message the NHS sends out to the world compared with the US system. I am probably a year younger and was really obsessed with getting into Oxford. All these years later, you are graduating and have a life put together, and I on the other hand did not get into a university I liked, didn't end up studying what I wanted and have failed two straight consecutive years what I have been doing hahahaha. The Tenderloin. I hear you. It was shocking even back in the aughts but I can only imagine how it is now and the culture shock you are experiencing. We have some enormous problems here in the states. SF is a city of extremes that pretty much encapsulates the disparities of this nation.
Feel free to judge! It is 100% wrong that a person making six figures cannot afford a home let alone anyone else. No one can afford to go to school or have a family here. It sucks.
San fran is one of the most expensive cities!! 😂 i live in Marin so I know. We all complain about the costs of living and food in the city. When you need to get away from the filth, go to the headlands!! It’s so beautiful and only just across the bridge. The beach there is also beautiful. ❤

Jade, I am congratulating for completing your degree. 'San Francisco is a very nice town. What are going to do after your graduation? Do a Master's or PhD or just work?
I also graduated last week (only high school but still) and today I visited the school one last time to give each of the teachers I had a letter I wrote for them and, I don't know, it's just so hard to believe that I won't ever come back and I am officially not a student any more. If I'm being honest, I was looking forward to this summer sooooo much and now I just feel kind of lost and I'm scared of not using the time and new freedom I have meaningfully (I'll go abroad in September for a gap year as an au pair so I don't have anything to plan and prepare academically) and even though I have this list of all the things I wanted to do once graduation is over, I just don't know where to start and I'm so, so exhausted from everything, especially because for the past 1.5 years, I had a part-time job that I honestly hated a lot and that burnt me out and yesterday, I had my last day of work which obviously is a reason to celebrate but it just doesn't feel like I imagined at all. I'm not sure if any of this made sence, but I'm still incredibly grateful that you read this entire comment :)
When I came back home to the US from Taipei after being there for only two weeks I realized how much I really hate the states and how mean and expensive it is here :( I feel you
It's totally okay not to like SF, it's not the people it's just the accumulation of corruption that has seeped into the city. Protect your positive energy and know that even being challenged now will make going back home extremely rewarding 💜💗
I understand the culture shock of SF. I grew up in a rural area in the Midwest United States, I had never seen the horrible conditions some people in my country are living in until I went to SF. I spent last summer there and I was horrified. No one should ever have to live on the streets. And although I was forced to acknowledge my privilege on the daily, the situation also impacted my quality of life in some ways. Like what!?!? There’s no outlets in certain coffee shops or even tables due to homeless people having harrassed the workers there. Most things are locked behind glass boxes in stores. Security guards at the local cvs past sundown. People smoking weed or other drugs on the train on my commute. I hated it. I hated the inherent lack of trust and public decency everyone had of eachother. I remember a lecture that one of my professors at school did that really changed my perspective. She said that the more wealth inequality a society has- the more everyone suffers. And of course the suffering is vastly unequal, but as you can see in SF wealthy people are just taking more and more drastic measures to protect their wealth, and thereby isolating themselves from the community and living in fear. While everyone else suffers much worse on the streets.

I also graduated last week (only high school but still) and today I visited the school one last time to give each of the teachers I had a letter I wrote for them and, I don't know, it's just so hard to believe that I won't ever come back and I am officially not a student any more. If I'm being honest, I was looking forward to this summer sooooo much and now I just feel kind of lost and I'm scared of not using the time and new freedom I have meaningfully (I'll go abroad in September for a gap year as an au pair so I don't have anything to plan and prepare academically) and even though I have this list of all the things I wanted to do once graduation is over, I just don't know where to start and I'm so, so exhausted from everything, especially because for the past 1.5 years, I had a part-time job that I honestly hated a lot and that burnt me out and yesterday, I had my last day of work which obviously is a reason to celebrate but it just doesn't feel like I imagined at all. I'm not sure if any of this made sence, but I'm still incredibly grateful that you read this entire comment :)

I understand the culture shock of SF. I grew up in a rural area in the Midwest United States, I had never seen the horrible conditions some people in my country are living in until I went to SF. I spent last summer there and I was horrified. No one should ever have to live on the streets.
And although I was forced to acknowledge my privilege on the daily, the situation also impacted my quality of life in some ways. Like what!?!? There’s no outlets in certain coffee shops or even tables due to homeless people having harrassed the workers there. Most things are locked behind glass boxes in stores. Security guards at the local cvs past sundown. People smoking weed or other drugs on the train on my commute. I hated it. I hated the inherent lack of trust and public decency everyone had of eachother. I remember a lecture that one of my professors at school did that really changed my perspective. She said that the more wealth inequality a society has- the more everyone suffers. And of course the suffering is vastly unequal, but as you can see in SF wealthy people are just taking more and more drastic measures to protect their wealth, and thereby isolating themselves from the community and living in fear. While everyone else suffers much worse on the streets.
