    Have an MG-30 and GP-100. Looking at getting a GP-200. I thought I heard pitch shift latency on the GP-200 vs th MG-30. Appreciate all your videos Daniel. Subscribed. Best Regards/Best Wishes!

      @DanielKraemerMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot! Maybe, but the latency feels ok for me. But Tbh, the sound quality of the pitch shifting is not that convincing in all of these cheaper units. Guess it needs mor processing power for better results.

    Totally agree with your opinion. GP200 lacks the effects sound quality & MG30 effects quality is as good as the Line6. But I pick GP200 due to live situation. I'm doing live gig and studio jamming so I need all the footswitches that the GP200 has and the XLR output to run to the PA system direct. Both models got awesome amps sound quality pairing with 3rd party IRs. I'm using ML Sound Lab IRs and it sounds awesome. So it's up to the end-user to decide on what they want. But I keep my finger crossed the GP200 can improve the effects quality with a firmware update. If Valeton can do that then GP200 is a clear winner.

      Totally agree with you about the GP 200. I purchased it over others mainly for its realistic sounding amp sims especially paired with 3rd party IR's and footswitches and XLR outs, that being said the mediocre effects are a let down now and I've been promised by the Valeton team that more stereo effects will be added in the upcoming updates, considering that they've already rolled out the first ever firmware and software update which has significant upgrades, I really hope they'll improve the effects.

    Thanks for this comparison,
    I have a MG30 in the post, but I had doubts that maybe I should have saved the extra & got the newer GP200
    But honestly, I am generally a studio artist that doesn't need as many bells and whistles as the GP200 offers
    I have a ton of great software emulations, so I just needed a good quality outboard sound, that has a decent built in sound card & is reamp capable
    Being a studio player, the quality of the effects is massively important to me
    For me...
    A 1% sound improvement matters...
    Because I am always looking for another 1%
    If I find that 1% in this pedal
    Then 1% better listening skills
    With a 1% better mixing skill
    And a 1% better mastering skill
    On and on and on....
    Before I know it my sound is 10% better lol
    Yes I know it's subjective...
    But I am purely talking about my own perception of the sound
    I am looking for better, for me...
    The more I like something the better it should translate to others imo
    Started my studio journey in 2002, and although I've had many breaks from it over the years...
    I always end up back in the studio eventually
    I've never taken it to seriously, never pushed to make an income
    But I think it's about time I did try to make a little money, not necessarily a full time wage, but just a little top up on my full time job
    Anyway...
    This comparison has really confirmed that I have made the right choice on this
    So thanks again mate

      Hi Gennaro, I'd say the quality is comparable. Especially in a live situation I'd prefer the Valeton over the MG30 because of it's flexibility. PLease consider getting my preset packs for the Valeton (or NUX). they work great in a live situation. Cheers 😆

    @Daniel Krämer greetings! I would be buying a multi-effect for the first time. So can you still give a review which one would you prefer me to buy among these two?
    Also I'm open for suggestions from any professional or user of these models. Thanks in advance.

    • @DanielKraemerMusic
      @DanielKraemerMusic  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your question! I'd say, it depends on what you need... the GP200 is way more flexible in a live situation, as it comes with 8 programmable footswitches. It also has Midi i/O and it is easy to use (e.g. getting good tones is easy without much tweaking). The Pros of the NUX are, that the effects sound much better and it comes with the scenes feature. But it's a unit, that needs much tweaking, until you get good results. Probably the hardest one. My personal first recommendation would be the Hotone ampero 2 stage. That unit has great tones, almost like the high end modeling units (QC or Fractal). Another unit that is really powerful and flexibel in a live situation is the Mooer GE300. But with all of these units, you'll get the best tones if you'll get my preset packs, that's for sure ;-) Cheers!

    Thanks for the detailed video. I am confused between the two - the MG30 is much cheaper, but clearly, GP200 offers better options for live situations. I have three questions regarding the MG30: [1] Is it possible to change amps in S2 and S3, so these are significantly different than the S1 patch? [2] Is it possible to assign NMP-2 with A and B to bank up and down and the footswitches on the pedal from left to right assigned to change patches, ie, 1A (single press), 1B (single press), 1C (single press), and 1D (double press control switch). So when I press B, then 2A, 2B, 2C, and 2D are available, and so on. This would be much better for a live situation. [3] Is the assignment of the four controls per patch or global?

    • @DanielKraemerMusic
      @DanielKraemerMusic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your questions! I've briefly checked the NUX, so 1) No, only one amp can be used within one preset 2)I don't think that is possible. The two left switches seem to be fixed to up/down. The other switches can only be assigned to different EFX or scenes 3) No, you can assign the switches in each preset. So for live usage, the GP200 is way more flexibel. Also it's easier to get good sounds with the GP200...

      @@DanielKraemerMusic Many thanks for your helpful comments. It is now established that GP200 is better for live use. However, since you have used both, is one better than the other with regard to tones. I mainly play the blues and classic rock, and once in a blue moon like chuging with some early, heavy metal sounds (eg, Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc).

      If I would have to chose between the Valeton GP-200 and the NUX MG30, I'd get the GP200, but just because it's more flexible for live usage (more footswitches, MIDI I/O,...). I’ve owned an MG30 an tried it for a month before I sent it back. To try the mooer ge300 witch I thought I like but found out the they weren’t supporting that unit and it was having some OS issues so returned that landed in the Valeton gp200 and that I’m keeping even though it’s not as easy to program the foot switches map midi. I’m keeping it because the best feature is the OTG capability that allows me to access THU Overloud & Nembrino sounds from the iPad that the combination blows away any modeler out there! Especially if you get the Nembrino doubler and go out to 2 frfr it’s almost to big I have to dial it back a little! 😂 You can also record to garage band! I use it live in a couple of days and will comment back here. Afterwards
