    Finally. the multieffect shootout ive been waiting for. Great job always, however i think you forgot to highlight that the Matribox II is the only unit with midi in/out. Thanks

    In my opinion, it depends on what we need the most. If you want it specifically for recording, Nux is the best to choose due to its 32bit/48khz record capability.
    But for live gig use, Valeton / Matribox will be the best choice because of the balanced /xlr output and also for its capability to customize each built in footswitch. You can assign the footswitch to turn on/off certain effect, assign different function when you double press the button, and also another different function to choose when you do short pressing or long pressing the button. Hotone / valeton / sonicake are basicaly the same company so the tone are more or less the same in quality and if you notice the user interface between those device are also almost looks identical. Hotone for the flagship, valeton for the mid tier, and sonicake for the budget tier. Thats why you have more feature in the hotone, then reduce some feature/amp/effect choice in the valeton, and then the sonicake with least feature/amp/effect choice.
    Zoom will wins if you need a multi effect for completing your pedalboard set in very minimum budget as it has capability to load same fx block within a preset. For example, you can have two delays in one preset. You can have slap back delay for giving your tone some depth and add another delay for soloing (as long the dsp of the unit is not overload). The unit really works well when paired with stompbox pedal. And I do prefer zoom g2four tone since I’ve already been comparing it over the valeton and the nux when it comes to the stock cab available in the unit. Nevertheless, the screen in the unit and having no capability’s to load 3rd party IR is really a joke in 2024. Additionally, it has no send & return and their editing apps software is a paid apps.
    Not much heard about flamma, so i don’t have any comment about its features. But soundwise, it sounds more or less the same as nux, valeton, and sonicake.
    Here in my country the price of these device are such an anomaly. Sonicake Matribox II about 177 USD, nux mg400 about 193 USD, zoom G2Xfour 206 USD and valeton gp200jr about 270 USD. Here in my country nux mg30 & hotone ampero mini has the same price as the valeton gp200jr.
    All in all, its all depends on what is your usage scenario for the pedal since the tone from the pedal are almost identical

    Great comparison and I loved your demo song. I own the Matribox2 and really like it. I've compared it head to head to a ToneX One and my friend's Quad Cortex. It seems to hold it's own, but does not have the richness and complexity that the other modelers provide. BUT, and this is a big but, for the sub $200US that I paid on Amazon Prime day I could not be happier with my purchase. The 3rd Party IR's can really make the unit sound fantastic. It also compares very favorably with my POD Go that I use to play out with in my Praise and Worship band at church. God bless and rock on 👍😎🎸

    Based on my hearing opinion
    For Deluxe Reverb: Valeton GP200JR/LT
    For JCM800: Matribox 2 and Valeton GP200JR/LT
    For Tube Screamer + JCM800: Matribox 2 and Valeton GP200JR/LT

    Leo! This is really an eye opener To my ears the Valeton DEFINITELY sounds much better than the other 3! And not just because i own one, but the basic tone is a lot closer. I would probably add the ampero MP80 to this test!!

    Thanks for your comparison, you've done a great job! I think it's worth noting that the Flamma doesn't have mic simulation but it has tubes simulation that would have improved the sound in this comparison...

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are welcome and thank you for sharing!
      May I ask you why it would have improved the sound? if it is activated and the same of the real amp...

    • @jefffffffx
      @jefffffffx 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@LeoGibsonGtr the tube simulation is a value under the cab section that affects how the selected IR is processed. The flamma didn't sound that good in the video and that might be the reason. I think that selecting a tube that takes better the loaded IR would've improved the sound without fiddling with other parameters..

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ah ok...but we can say the same thing related to other modellers tweaking, I mean I can tweak the eq or other parameters of the other units to get a better tone....maybe.
      Thank you!

    • @jefffffffx
      @jefffffffx 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@LeoGibsonGtr yeah I get the idea of no tweaking to make a fair comparison but it's impossible that every modeler process an IR the same way others do, making IRs more suitable to some brands than others, despite the "universal" idea behind IRs. I think flamma implemented the tube setting in cabs to, somehow, get the loaded IR to sound as close as it was supposed to sound. Thanks for your videos Leo, they are really inspiring.

    Not gonna lie, I always wanted a Flamma FX (the 200 tho not the 150) but -BUT the Matribox 2 sounds way more near to the real things compared to the other ones. Might really consider.
