Ty Gleason not all of them. Light guy is actually syncing the lights with the music. It is imperative for them to know the song very well, especially for bands like Meshuggah who play very fast. I do not know much about how all the lighting works, but I have been to multiple metal concerts and watched the light guy literally tap his fingers on a control board in perfect sync with the drummers double bass. What this guy is doing in this video is art. Takes a shit ton of talent.
Me neither.. what country do you live in? on the few occasions they come by in my country, in due time I mostly forget to check their tourdates and miss them by a hair.. Luckily my girlfriend didn't forget around my birthday couple of years ago
I never have the chance to go, I wouldn't like a place with flashing lights and loud music, it kinda scares me. I only like loud music when listening with headphones.
Seen Messhugah several times over the years, first time in early 2000 where the term djent didn't even exist... They were flawless on stage back then. And now they have a show. A light show. Its a full experience. I can't wait to see them again. Hopefully with visuals on top...
@@h.p.dominocus I'd add that mixing his kinda emotion-less or pure soulless or even machine type style of screaming etc with absolutely insane machine Meshuggah music just gives it an another level
Pravus has to be one of Meshuggah's hardest songs. Meaning,...ITS BADASS! ESPECIALLY the parts near the end and what the guitars are playing when he says,ITERATE. Then after he screams "MALIGN!" Right after that word they break into the hardest shit on that album. It gave me goosebumps the 1st time I heard it and I had to keep replaying that part. Hell of a band, and Great guys too.
@@JBrooksNYS hey at least it shows that they’re human and actually playing the music haha Meshuggah is probably one of the tightest live metal bands I’ve ever seen
How is this fucking done? If everything is pre programmed the band wouldn't have any margin of error to fall off the lighting "track". The other idea I'm having is that only general lights are programmed and the lighting tech has to live perform the fine parts basically? In any case, mesmerizing. Definitely a big part of the Meshuggah experience.
Edvard, how exactly are the lights timed up so perfectly with what they are playing? Is there a backtrack of sorts that Tomas is following, or is there some sort of preprogrammed light response to whatever frequency is being put out from their direct digital guitar sound? Regardless, it's amazing. I have never seen such flawless live production. This is even better than the MASSIVELY expensive NIN light setup from their Tension tour.
Im pretty sure he no longer follows along manually with them... on his channel he has pre-production videos of their light shows following along to their recordings
Cabelo Jefiz yeah but you’re watching the lighting tech’s channel right now. This video is about the lights more than anything. He’s got a bunch of them from this angle. Dude is sharing his work with us in high quality and it’s awesome.
Hahaha i love youtube. This track playing... Next one; Mozart. And DON'T give the rabble about great symphonies being metal, it's not. It's the saaaame tone, the saaame scales... But Mozart.... I actually listened to it but come on!
Light guy deserves a gold star. Holy shit.
You're watching his TH-cam channel, buddy! and agreed..
erak I did not know that, going to have to watch more from him.
he needs at least five grammys
Pretty sure the lights are programmed..

Edvard is the 6th Meshuggian
2:52 that long ass scream combined with that lead is pure terror
14 seconds
Jens is a god of destruction
3:50 long scream is my favorite.
I feel like I'm being shaken like a toy in a dog's mouth when I hear meshuggah. I hope to be able to see them live one day.
That's the best description of them I've ever heard in my life.
4:25 one of the guitars was one fret off, but it sounded even heavier. damn
Yes it did
made me jump off my chair. THIS WAS SOOOO
GOOD IT GAVE ME SHIVERS
I prefer it on that part for sure
Meshuggah live is a different expierence than just listening at home, I just can not miss them when they're around in my country

Best metal band on the planet🌏!
2 Faces Of Evil DEFFO
Jens' 15-second scream at 2:52... how the fuck is he still able to pull this off at 52!? He's an absolute MONSTER!
Insane lights man.
03:51
The longest scream Jens ever made.
I cried.
Man, just go back to 2.52... that's even more insane for me
I love his voice. In my top 5 vocalist list.

They guitars and Jens' vocals keep getting better and better!
The new lighting is intense. On the Australian tour, they assulted my eyes and my eyes. It was the loudest gig i have been to in a long time 🤘😎🤘
The audio quality is golden, great stuff. Thank you for uploading this.
Album Pravus simply doesn't hold a candle to Pravus live seeing how fucking hard Jens goes on that VIOLAAAAAAAATE during a show. Holy shit.
Love how in the intro Per holds his guitar like a weapon towards the crowd \m/

my god. 10 second of black hole screaming!!!
Your lights helped me learn this song
My friend: "what does Meshuggah sound like?"
Me: "enormous angry robots"
Someone said "like a container ship dragged thru gravel"
Then, enormous angry robots dragging containers through gravel 😂 both descritpions so accurate
Like an alien spaceship under hard acceleration through an intergalactic battle with aliens and predators..
Inside an alcohol funny car screaming down the strip on fire in slow motion
the light guy is a badass. made the song even better than it already was.
Edvard, you skipped one step with the background lights at 1:47. This is unacceptable.
You should sue him.
:D
One of thirteen thousand hits is very acceptable, I forgive him
love when people can understand sarcasm

This is crazy good! Good job mr.lights
Please put up more videos edvard. Your light work for shuggah is just magnificent
What is that rhythmic high pitch noise at 4:00? Sounds so fucking sick. This performance really takes their sound over the top.

Genius lights operation 😎😎😍😍
Edvard, will you be in charge of the lights in Meshuggah´s south american shows??
Rezemos !

Oy Veh! Such nice boys!
The waves were good that day.

Ooooh.There it is...
There are barely any phones out

Whats the effect jens is using or is it just the recording? I know he's no longer chaoshpere level but he still holds the screams damn well!
