Just got a new toy…The Hakko FR-300. I change quite a few flybacks, assuming that the flyback cooperates, with a solder sucker and braid it usually takes me about 5-10 minutes just to desolder. I have had the Hakko for about a month now and I have to say that I should have invested in a desoldering gun years ago…. Even as a hobbyist this thing has saved me hours….. I can not say that this is the best desoldering gun since it is the only one I have ever used…what I can say is that it has made what is for me….. one of the most frustrating parts of the hobby not only enjoyable but also satisfying………..
Two years on at this point. Is the Hakko holding up?
