1000 years old Kolaramma Devi Temple Tour | இராசேந்திர சோழன் கட்டிய கோயில் | Kolar Goddess Parvathi

Kolaramma temple is situated in the town of Kolar in Karnataka. The Kolaramma temple is thousand years old and built by the Cholas in the South Indian style. Mysore maharajasfrequently visited this temple to get the blessings of Kolaramma. Goddess Parvathi is worshipped as Kolaramma by the people of Kolar.
Another deity of this temple is Chelamma(Scorpion goddess). People believe that by praying at the Chelamma shrine a person will be guarded from scorpion bites by the deity. In the same sanctum 7 sapthamargal(7 Devis) is there and a carved scorpion there on wall. Outside wall of the main deity top to bottom fully Tamil Inscriptions there.
Temple is built by RajendraChola-I, modification and maintained by Vijayanagara empire. Now the temple is maintaining by Archeological dept of India. Outside of the temple mantapa RajendraChola-I carved stone is there and also kannada inscriptions there.
