    My wife is from Closplint and went to high school in Everts. Her father was a coal miner by trade too. He died in 1999 and that is the last trip we made through Evarts.. Great video, like going back home in your videos.. Thank you.

    Going to take Mom and Dad on the Everts drive also. Dad used to work in a strip job past Everts years ago. He drove from past Barbourville about 12 miles all the way to HighSplint. He drove that drive 6 days a week for quite awhile.

    Such a beautiful Appalachian town, looks like the four-wheeler Park has really breathe new life into it. Don't be surprised if you see a video just like this one pop up on someone else's channel in a week or two I've noticed there's a couple of channels copying your content.

      You're right about the copycat stuff I've seen it I wonder if there's something he can do about it.

    The one part you went thru was kitts it might have ended after you crossed the tracks. There use to be some old old houses over in kitts when you drive back in there across the bridge to your left it use to be beautiful.

    Glad to see that Evarts didn't dry up and blow away after the demise of the coal industry. I graduated EHS in 1965 with the largest class ever---300 grads. Where would one look to find names and locations of coal camps during the early 1950's when there were dozens of coal camps thruout the county

    • @IgnitedCoyote
      @IgnitedCoyote  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can probably find most information at the Harlan public library on Old coal camps.
      I'll start checking on that that would make a good video.

      I'm just a bit far away from the library. n w Indiana within spittin distance from Chicago. The family is trying to organise a trip back 'home' this summer to see what is and what was. That would be a great video for us refugees Definition of a housier A ketuckian that ran out of gas on the way to detroit

    Love small towns and especially small mountain towns. Just no place or people like them. Good to see these towns are not becoming ghost towns.

      Evarts has really came back to life since they opened the Black mountain Park.
      It amazes me to pass people pulling four wheelers behind their vehicles on 25E in Corbin driving towards Harlan and think they're probably going to little old Evarts.
      Thanks for watching Stan!

    Grew up about 12 miles on up the road from Evarts in Closplint. Miss that place bad sometimes but meth is destroying that place.

    Evarts always reminds me of the show "justified". Loved how they got the names of the towns and route numbers, even the license plates right. Shame they didn't film there. Only detail I hated was when he said" I'm leaving Harlan, be in Lexington in an hour"🙄

    • @IgnitedCoyote

      That was a heck of a shortcut wouldn't it, or maybe that Lincoln of his was a whole lot faster than it looked?😆🤣😆
