My mother Alta Fry was born in Pennington Gap in 1918. My grandfather Cameron Blair Fry opened the Cecil Fry Cemetery behind their home on Morgan Ave. There are many old and interesting headstones there i think a tour of the Cemetery would be great. My Mother is laid to rest there. Keener Whitesell, Memphis.
Loved the video. I attended a bible study here in Enochville, NC and Preacher Charles Barrier of Calvary Baptist Church, pennington Gap, taught a 3 day class. Charles is an awesome teacher. If you live in Pennington Gap, try to visit Calvary Baptist. I would like to come and visit sometime in the future.
Oh the memories, I’m from Pennington Gap and grew up in Harlan, we lived in Holiday Apartments which used to be behind the hospital in Harlan. We also lived near the elementary school for a while when my Grandfather pastored there.
Great to see. My mom, Shirley (Russell) Riggle grew up in Pennington Gap. She lived there with her dad (Roy Neil Russell) and her Aunt, Minnie (Russell) Pannel. It's been a while since I've been there... need to make a visit.
Juno is adorable! This is an awesome video. The bypass in Harlan didn't exist that last time I was there, that I remember. My daddy was born in the Hopital in Pennington Gap.
I drive across the pine mountain to get to Harlan in 30 minutes it’s not fair we have been forgotten I wish I could change this back up Harlan trufully we should stayed in Virginia state
Oh thank you so much for the videos. I'm from Pennington Gap. I had people in Sunshine Station and cranks creek. They are all passed away. There are so many beautiful memories associated with Harland as well as Pennington Gap God bless you for taking time to do such a Wonderful job.
Thank you! Great video. Thanks for taking us along. Wow it’s been so long since I’ve been there! Thanks again 💜 Oh such a cute addition to your family by the way lol. Take care-Debbie
You got it right. The comparisons were interesting and entertaining. I really like the street light fixtures in Pennington Gap. Keep up the great videos.
I love small towns...it is beautiful there with the mountains surrounding the area. Where I live is on top of a small mountain range and it is flat up here except for a few rolling hills. The good thing about that is we have a wonderful cool breeze and can go awhile before having to use the air conditioning. Lol. Our views here come in when you are coming down off the mountain and can see off in the distance the mountains and smoky haze. Or when you visit the Lodge and look over the Tennessee river and the mountains. The closest town to me has one red light. It is very very small but I love small towns where Every one just about knows each other. I wonder if my momma got her nickname from that area. Her nickname was Lee. Her given name was Leeinore but she never spelled it that way. She always spelled it Lenora. Like I have said my family roots are deep there but I have never been there. Thank you for the tour. God bless
I grew up in Pennington Gap. My father still lives in Robbins Chapel. This area will always be home to me. Me and my family are going to stop by the 421 store for a burger next time we head to see my Dad. I have driven by this store so many times and to be honest, didn't even know they were open for business, Thank you for sharing, Coyote! I love seeing my home town.
I really enjoyed your video. My parents are from Harlan County and I have wanted to come up there and roam around but haven’t been able to do that this year: your videos are the next best thing. Thanks again.
Hi Coyote! Hi Juno! 😊👍🧡 I enjoyed how you did this video! Yes, the urgent care facility is better than nothing. I sure hope they reopen the hospital. Smashed the thumbs up! I sure wasn't expecting to see the helicopter, but awesome they have it!!!! Hope y'all are having a Happy Labor Day! ❤🇺🇸
I’ve been through there it’s a shame all the little towns are ghost towns we used to have Georgia pacific lumber 1 mile away from my home I live in pine mountain I have all my people in Harlan county
I live 3 miles from Harlan line on 221 we are forgotten we have nothing but a dead end road we hardly ever never get help I want it changed to Harlan County Kentucky instead of Bell county

When you're out in the country, do the folks living out there still wave to you as you drive by?
Sometimes, but not as often as they used to. Thanks for watching!
I wish Stoney Fork that should have been in Harlan instead of Bell county Kentucky
We all need to demand our maps should be changed back
Howdy y'all
Great to hear from you! My wife and I talked about how nice you guys were all the way home.
I believe Virginia would have taken better care of us
