I was born in '72 and all I knew to be Catholic was NO. I've finally made it home and am never looking back. I'm finally learning all I should have known my whole life. I'm alone in my family but God willing I will persevere. I can no longer imagine not having the true latin Catholic mass in my life. I'm so happy to be in a humble parish. I feel at home.

I was born in the early 70s as well and attended novus ordo Catholic schools for all 12 years of my academic experience. I attended St Dominic Savio HS that was an all boys school run by the Salesians and during my twelfth and final year the archdiocese of Boston had the bright idea to finally give in to this new novelty that's been floating around known as "sexual education" or sex- ed.
Wait It gets better; the Salesians thought that it would be brilliant for the only female teacher (who was under 30yrs old and just got married the year before) in an all boys Catholic HS, within one of the only two Italian neighborhoods of Boston, to teach a bunch of girl -crazy 12th graders over a weeks worth of extremely explicit sex-ed classes. As you can guess, it did not go well. Unfortunately we were all way too immature etc for something like that to be thrown onto us and by the end of the first class on the first day, three quarters of us ended up being suspended for the rest of the school year (which happened to be the last three weeks of the year), we were in the middle of a baseball championship run and we were forbidden to play which was the last time most of us would ever play an organized sport again, we were banned from attending our senior prom and finally we were all forbidden to attend our HS graduation and could not receive the diploma in front of all our families and friends.
Now, we were definitely a bunch of fresh mouth smart azzez but we should've never been exposed to anything like that period.
This is just another example for why the entire novus ordo system must be eradicated asap.

I was born in '72 as well in Australia. I was blessed that my father returned to the TLM in about '74, but I went to a regular Catholic school and so understood the Revolution that had taken place.

The Blessed Mother actually warned us about this modern time in Her prophecy at Guadalupe, where She gave visual photographic evidence about the apostasy starting at the top with false the false Popes and writers ✍️ of Vatican ii, as She uses the image of the upside down Bishop Cardinal Mitre hats located at the wrist.

Im 67 years old and remember the time very well when we were attending Catechism one day and the Nuns who taught us were not wearing their Habits but dressing like the laity..Even then I knew there was change... my Parents stopped going to mass which was changed overnight into something unrecognizable...(very confusing to us kids ) ... they mostly lost the faith and we children soon followed in our New Church..after years of the TLM. Even our Priests started wearing pants and what looked like a suit jacket and no more cassocks. This was the 60's " revolution " and know I realize after finding my faith once again how evil it all was and is ....The veil has been lifted for me now... The culture in the United States changed rapidly. I believe there are 2 Churches now and after attending the New Mass on my return to faith it did not even look like the so called New Mass from after V2.. I was disappointed and depressed until I found the TLM was still offered and even available. God brought me to find the ICKSP and later the FSSP and the SSPX... and I thank him every day. All is not lost and God wins in the end. God bless you and keep up the good fight.

I knew something was wrong when I was 12. My family was forced into a new parish bc of growth in the town I grew up in. We had been in a parish run by Franciscans. The new parish was ugly, modern, nasty looking with a table in the middle of the sanctuary. Suddenly, i had no more nuns teaching me catechism, but lay people talking about social nonsense. It was a shocking experience. I was mentally discerning becoming a nun at 14, but seeing all that was going on, changed my mind. The NO damaged my faith immensely. I'll leave it at that.

It really is a strange time for traditional Catholics: we are to hold fast to the timeless traditions of the Church, while the pope does everything in his power to try to destroy them. So we basically have to remain Catholic IN SPITE of the pope. I pray that this time passes quickly. Thank you for sharing your experiences and your heartfelt narration. God bless you.

I can't believe they changed everything and all resistance to the changes was so effectively crushed with gaslighting, lies, and propaganda to the point many Catholics don't even know how much the Church changed until recently with this renewed interests in the REAL history of the Liturgy and the Church itself by us young guys and gals

I’m a 73 year old Irish Catholic and remember when our faith was completely central to our lives🙏 I even served the Latin Mass before the changes!
Modernism has destroyed so much but I sense that a big change is underway from the laity who are taking their lives and faith seriously🙏
Our Bishops in Ireland are weak and afraid of the deep state enemies within the Church as well as media/Government😭
    From 1730 to 1983 24 encyclical’s were issued on modernism & Freemasonry!
The biggest failure was the thrashing of Humanae Vitae. Combined with destruction of beautiful sanctuaries/altars and New World Order Mass it’s like the perfect storm🤮😈
But as always the choice is straightforward- do you want to get to Heaven or not! If you do get serious about your faith and living the Sacramental life🙏
This is Jesus Church and the modernist heretics are running out of steam and time🙏

Are you sure your grandpa would have experienced Gregorian chant? It's my understanding that it was more like opera or choral music. Pope St. Pius X in the early years of the liturgical movement promoted the return to Gregorian chant and while all the traditional tribes do that now. It was less common before Vatican II. My conclusion is not scientific, I only really discussed this subject with one older man who has since passed on.

@@lorih9182 Today it is. Every tribe of tradition is following the directive of Pope St. Pius X. So it's hard to find a Traditional Latin Mass without Gregorian Chant. But before Vatican II, other legitimate customs dominated, and Gregorian Chant was getting rare. Thus it needed a revival, as was encouraged by Pope St. Pius X.
